  So, for instance facebook's search bar has faint word that says "search", but when you click on the bar, it becomes blank and you may begin typing, when you click away the "search" goes back. Similarly, SO's ask a question title box has faint words that go away when you start typing. I'm not too sure what this effect is called, but I'm wondering if theres a jQuery plugin that helps to achieve this. This isn't particularly difficult to program, but I thought why reinvent the wheel if someone already made a plugin for it.

  I have a string like this: "foo=bar&bar=foo&hello=hi" Does Ruby on Rails provide methods to parse this as if it is a querystring, so I get a hash like this: { :foo => "bar", :bar => "foo", :hello => "hi" } Or must I write it myself? EDIT Please note that the string above is not a real querystring from a URL, but rather a string stored in a cookie from Facebook Connect.

  Hi I have host web application which is developed using java and jsp. In client side each client give five ajax calls to the server to retrieve data from the server in every 30 seconds. My problem is can one user who use one browser to log in to the system have multiple session at a time. Reason is when i use the tool to use monitor the firewall I can see more than 10 sessions are active for one IP. How this can happen? any comments

  I am accessing the facebook api and using the json.net library (newtonsoft.json.net) I declare a Jobject to parse the content and look for the specific elements and get their values. Everything works fine for the first few but then I get this unexplained nullexception error " (Object reference not set to an instance of an object) Now I took a look at the declaration but cannot see how to change it. In php, you can use NOW() like this: mysql_query("INSERT INTO tablename (id, value, time_created) VALUES ('{$id}', '{$value}', NOW())"); How can I do the same thing in PDO. When I bind like this, I get an error: $stmt->bindParam(':time_added', NOW(), PDO::PARAM_STR); Is it the PDO:PARAM_STR?
