  • Use of @keyword in C# -- bad idea?

    In my naming convention, I use _name for private member variables. I noticed that if I auto-generate a constructor with ReSharper, if the member is a keyword, it will generate an escaped keyword. For example: class IntrinsicFunctionCall { private Parameter[] _params; public IntrinsicFunctionCall(Parameter[] @params) { _params = @params; } } Is this generally considered bad practice or is it OK? It happens quite frequently with @params and @interface.

  • Java: random long number in 0 <= x < n range.

    Random class has a method to generate random int in a given range. For example: Random r = new Random(); int x = r.nextInt(100); This would generate an int number more or equal to 0 and less than 100. I'd like to do exactly the same with long number. long y = magicRandomLongGenerator(100); Random class has only nextLong(), but it doesn't allow to set range.

Invalid ESCAPE sequence as an output. I've googled around to find out about 335544972 error code, and it seems to be something about invalid connection string, but I haven't found any "official" info about that. Hase anybody encountered anything similar so one could tell me what am I doing wrong? Thanks.

    Hello there I have developed an application in vb.net2008 and database sqlserver. Now i want to ignore the database(it has 1 table as customer(name,password,hour,minute)) as i dont want my client to install sqlserver separately or other overheads. I am planning to do the whole using file handling in vb.net(manipulating the data in files itself eg change username, password etc).   • CustomValidator, pagemethods and JQuery what fun

    Hey all, I have a CustomValidator, RequiredFieldValidator and ValidationSummary controls on an aspx page to check the current password and make sure the new password is not blank. When I click submit I get the js alert() box from the summary control telling me about just the RequiredFieldValidator being false, but the client script for the CustomValidator does not seem to get its return value used. I have checked the "arguments.IsValid" value using FireBug, so it is getting called and returning the correct bool, but it never shows up in the val summary box? Thanks, Goosey

    I have _0.cfs file of a lucene index directory but segments.gen and segments_2 are missing. Can I generate the segments.gen and segments_2 files without having to regenerate the _0.cfs file. Does these "segments" files contain any index specific data, which will thus force me to regnerate the entire index again. Or can I just generate the two "segments" file by copying these from another lucen index directory gnerated with the same lucene version.

His clients need access to some web applications through login and password and need to be authenticated . i thought about creating a custom asp.net membership provider that hits exchange instead of the regular aspnetdb store.
