    In my code I'm attempting to use a transaction using TransactionScope with Entity Framework. While in this transaction we are opening a regular SQL connection to a seperate server and database. When the conn.Open() is called we get an Error: "Network access for Distributed Transaction Manager (MSDTC) has been disabled. Please enable DTC for network access in the security configuration for MSDTC using the Componet Services Administrative tool." However, MSDTC is enabled and running on the Server.

  • Problems playing multiple sounds using AVPlayer (NOT AVAudioPlayer)

    I'm trying to play a background song in my iPhone game and also have sound effects, using the AVFoundation framework and AVPlayerItem. I've scoured the Internet for help with AVPlayerItem and AVPlayer but I'm only finding stuff about AVAudioPlayer. The background song plays fine, but when the character jumps, I have 2 problems: 1) On the initial jump ([player play] inside jump method), the jump sound effect interrupts the background music. 2) If I try to jump again, the game crashes with the error "AVPlayerItem cannot be associated with more than one instance of AVPlayer" My professor told me to create a new instance of AVPlayer for each sound I want to play, so I'm confused. I'm doing data driven design, so my sound files are listed in a .txt and then loaded into a NSDictionary.   • Access to multiple ItemRenderers within an AdvancedDataGrid

    I've create an AdvancedDataGrid where most of the cell are based on an ItemRenderer. The custom ItemRenderer (SoundBox) extends VBox. This custom component allow for simple changes in the background color based on user clicking on a cell.     I have the following SQL which I am trying to translate to LINQ: SELECT f.value FROM period as p LEFT OUTER JOIN facts AS f ON p.id = f.periodid AND f.otherid = 17 WHERE p.companyid = 100 I have seen the typical implementation of the left outer join (ie. into x from y in x.DefaultIfEmpty() etc.) but am unsure how to introduce the other join condition ('AND f.otherid = 17') EDIT Why is the 'AND f.otherid = 17' condition part of the JOIN instead of in the WHERE clause? Because f may not exist for some rows and I still want these rows to be included. If the condition is applied in the WHERE clause, after the JOIN - then I don't get the behaviour I want. Unfortunately this: from p in context.Periods join f in context.Facts on p.id equals f.periodid into fg from fgi in fg.DefaultIfEmpty() where p.companyid == 100 && fgi.otherid == 17 select f.value seems to be equivalent to this: SELECT f.value FROM period as p LEFT OUTER JOIN facts AS f ON p.id = f.periodid WHERE p.companyid = 100 && AND f.otherid = 17 which is not quite what I'm after.

    Currently I'm working on a platform type game. I have a for loop in place to check weather or not the players feet are touching the ground. I had this; for (i=0; i<5; i++) { //There are 5 floors if (this.feet.hitTest(_root["g"+i])) { _root.mc.groundTouch = true; //triggers the mc falling } } This works fine only if one of the floors exist(IE if floor1 is on the stage, but floor2-5 aren't); So to try and counter it I tried using; for (i=0; i<5; i++) { if (this.feet.hitTest(_root["floor"+i])) { _root.mc.groundTouch = true; //triggers the mc falling } if (!this.feet.hitTest(_root["floor"+i])) { _root.mc.groundTouch = false; } } This obviously doesn't work because in order for it to function properly, _root.mc.feet would have to be touching all 5 instances of "floor". So my question is; How do I get the code to make _root.mc.groundTouch = true if _root.mc.feet is touching any of the floor instances, but make _root.mc.groundTouch = false only if its touching none of the floor instances? I know that if I really wanted to I could do something like if (_root.mc.feet.hitTest(_root.floor1) && !_root.mc.feet.hitTest(_root.floor2) && etc) But to save myself time, and to give myself the ability to add floors without altering more then i<5 to the amount of floors I have, I would prefer a easier method hopefully something to do with for loops.   • magento - multiple tax rates

    I've built a magento site for a Canadian company where each state has a Retail sales tax and a federal tax rate and these rates differ! So, I set up the rates, and the Tax is being calculated correctly, ie the sum of the two tax rates is being calculated correctly. however on selecting the breakdown of tax mode in the admin panel, it would appear that there is something wrong with my setup. Eg. Subtotal $129.99 GST/HST Quebec (5%) $ 16.25 Provincial Sales Tax Quebec (7.5%) Tax $ 16.25 Grand Total $158.23 16.25 is 12% of $129.99 so the tax figure is correct. However it should be displaying as follows: Subtotal $129.99 GST/HST Quebec (5%) $ 6.50 Provincial Sales Tax Quebec (7.5%) $ 9.75 Tax $ 16.25 Grand Total $158.23 Anyone come across this before? From what I can tell when stepping through with GDB is that there are two instances of the Singleton. Why is this?

  • Multiple aggregate functions in one SQL query from the same table using different conditions

    I'm working on creating a SQL query that will pull records from a table based on the value of two aggregate functions. These aggregate functions are pulling data from the same table, but with different filter conditions. The problem that I run into is that the results of the SUMs are much larger than if I only include one SUM function. I know that I can create this query using temp tables, but I'm just wondering if there is an elegant solution that requires only a single query. I've created a simplified version to demonstrate the issue. Here are the table structures: EMPLOYEE TABLE EMPID 1 2 3 ABSENCE TABLE EMPID DATE HOURS_ABSENT 1 6/1/2009 3 1 9/1/2009 1 2 3/1/2010 2 And here is the query: SELECT E.EMPID ,SUM(ATOTAL.HOURS_ABSENT) AS ABSENT_TOTAL ,SUM(AYEAR.HOURS_ABSENT) AS ABSENT_YEAR FROM EMPLOYEE E INNER JOIN ABSENCE ATOTAL ON ATOTAL.EMPID = E.EMPID INNER JOIN ABSENCE AYEAR ON AYEAR.EMPID = E.EMPID WHERE AYEAR.DATE > '1/1/2010' GROUP BY E.EMPID HAVING SUM(ATOTAL.HOURS_ABSENT) > 10 OR SUM(AYEAR.HOURS_ABSENT) > 3 Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    I have 110 files named time1.mat, time2.mat ..., time110.mat. I want to load these matrices into the MATLAB workspace. I have always used load -'ASCII' matrix.mat to load an ASCII matrix file in the current folder. So I tried doing for i=1:10 filename=strcat('time',int2str(i),'.mat'); load -'ASCII' filename end But I am getting a MATLAB error as ??? Error using ==> load Unable to read file filename: No such file or directory. ? Of course the string filename seems to be evaluated correctly by MATLAB as time1.mat. in the first iteration where it crashes at the load line. Any suggestions how I should do this?

  • Project with multiple binaries in Eclipse CDT

    I think it is quite normal to have more than one binary in a project. However, with Eclipse CDT I don't know how to set up the IDE to get things done. I know I can create several projects - one per binary. And I know I can set the dependencies per project. However, I cannot regard them as one project in Eclipse. If I'd like to share the code with a version control system (like svn), each developer has to import the projects separately. What I miss is something like the Solution (sln file) in Visual Studio. Should I create a single project and create the make files by myself? I haven't tried it out yet, but there is this 'project set' which can be ex- and imported. Is this the solution? Can this be put into version control? My goal it to put everything under version control, not only subprojects. I cannot imagine that CDT makes only sense for single-binary applications. How can I work properly?

  • Connection Refused running multiple environments on Selenium Grid 1.04 via Ubuntu 9.04

    Hello, I'm writing a selenium grid test suite which is going to be run on a series of different machines. I wrote most of it on my macbook but have recently transfered it over to my work machine, which is running ubuntu 9.04. That's actually my first experience with a linux machine, so I may be missing something very simple (I have disabled the firewall though). I haven't been able to get the multienvironment thing working at all, and I've been trying and manual reviewing for a while. Any recommendations and help would be greatly, greatly appreciated!   • Checking for & storing multiple CheckBox selections in CSharp.

    I'm very new to CSharp and I can't seem to find a good solution to what I would consider a simple problem. Basically I'm trying to determine which CheckBoxs have been selected by the user and then randomly generate combinations of the selections the user has made. As new as I am, I am aware that you can use a simple statement such as: checkBox1.IsChecked == true I could have a long set of if statements which update an array/collection, but I'm told that in Csharp there is a way of determining which CheckBoxs are checked by querying the GroupBox that the CheckBoxs are in. Unless I'm mistaken (which is very possible) this is achieved by using Control features, unfortunately I've not come across these yet in my learning so if someone could clear things up that would be great. In summation, if someone has a simple solution for running through a set of checkBoxs and storing only the selected ones I would be most grateful.

  • merge() multiple data frames (do.call ?)

    Hi everyone, here's my very simple question: merge() only takes two data frames as input. I need to merge a series of data frames from a list, using the same keys for every merge operation. Given a list named "test", I want to do something like: do.call("merge", test). I could write some kind of loop, but I'm wondering if there's a standard or built-in way to do this more efficiently.   • Actionscript multiple file upload, with parameter passing is not working

    Hey everyone, First off, I am very bad at flash/actionscript, it is not my main programming language. I have created my own file upload flash app that has been working great for me up until this point. It uses PHP to upload the files and sends back a status message which gets displayed in a status box to the user. Now I have run into a situation where I need the HTML to pass a parameter to the Actionscript, and then to the PHP file using POST.   • Multiple group expressions in list (ssrs 2005)

I want to use two expressions: '=Ceiling(RowNumber(Nothing)/3)' and '=Cint(Fields!kpilevel.Value)' They work both individually, but when I insert them together only 1 works.   • Troubleshooting source of heavy resource-usage on a server 2008 running multiple sites

    Hi, I am running about 10 asp.net websites on a hosted virtual server. The server runs Server 2008 - each website is backed by its own database running on SQL server 2008 on the same box. Lately the box has seemed really slow. The only kind of discovery i could think of doing was looking in the task manager, where i can see w3wp and sqlserver.exe jumping to 40% cpu usage every 5-10 seconds. What are the steps i can take to determine which of my websites is taking these resources and or what database is getting hit the most? I have of course ssms installed on the machine as well. As you can tell, my sysadmin skills are very very limited - any help would be much appreciated.

    Is it possible to lock a file to stop it being opened while GD library is accessing it? What I am looking to achieve is similar to a database 'serialzable' level of isolation... I want to ensure that only one session/user can access an image at a time to stop a 'dirty read'. May application allows users to add an image of choice to a bigger image. for example the big image is empty Raj & Janet upload their images Raj's session opens the big image. 1 ms later Janet's session opens the big image. Raj's session add's his image and saves the big image 1 ms later Janet's session adds his image and saves its version of the big image. As a result Raj's image is not in the final image as Janet's version overwrote it. I hope that makes it clear enough.

  • Video packet capture over multiple IP cameras

    Hello We are working on a C language application which is simple RTSP/RTP client to record video from Axis a number of Cameras . We launch a pthread for each of the camera which establishes the RTP session and begins to record the packets captured suing the recvfrom() call... A single camera single pthread records fine for well over a day without issues.. but testing with more cameras available,about 25(so 25 pthreads), the recording to file goes fine for like 15 to 20 mins and then the recording just stops ..the application still keeps running .. Its been over a month and a half we have been trying with varied implementations but nothing seems to help .. Please provide suggestions.. We are using CentOS 5 platform
