• Multiple RadUpload Control in One Page

  I have an aspx page that uses master page. In the papx page, I load a user control containing 2 RadUpload controls (Rad1 and Rad2). User can choose to upload the file either using the first RadUpload or the second RadUpload and there is certain validation applied for each RadUpload. The weird thing happened is that when I upload file using Rad2 (second RadUpload), the RadUpload.UploadedFiles for the first RadUpload is there (count = 1). Instead of the file being uploaded by Rad2, it is detected as if it is uploaded from Rad1, so my validation failed. Does someone encounter this problem before? This is a very weird thing and I've spent almost 1 and a half day fixing this without knowing what happened to the control

• Best direction for displaying game graphics in C# App

  I am making a small game as sort of a test project, nothing major. I just started and am working on the graphics piece, but I'm not sure the best way to draw the graphics to the screen. It is going to be sort of like the old Zelda, so pretty simple using bitmaps and such. I started thinking that I could just paint to a Picture Box control using Drawing.Graphics with the Handle from the control, but this seems cumbersome. I'm also not sure if I can use double buffering with this method either. I looked at XNA, but for now I wanted to use a simple method to display everything. So, my question. Using the current C# windows controls and framework, what is the best approach to displaying game graphics (i.e. Picture Box, build a custom control, etc.)

• How do I design a .NET (C#) for a program that needs to run as a Windows service but also have a web

  I am designing a piece of software that needs to operate different pieces of hardware based mainly on a schedule but it also needs to have a web interface for configuring settings, configuring the schedule, and possibly even manually controlling the hardware. I'm not sure how to design the architecture of software like this. One thought that I have had was to create a Windows service that does the communication with the hardware as well as "publishing" web services through WCF and then having an ASP.NET application that then controls the Windows service through WCF. This approach seems to be a lot of work for what I'm trying to accomplish. Could someone please give me some direction whether or not this is a good approach, and even give me a better way to do it if one exists? Thanks! Joel

• How do I get the current location of an iframe?

  I have built a basic data entry application allowing users to browse external content in iframe and enter data quickly from the same page. One of the data variables is the URL. Ideally I would like to be able to load the iframes current url into a textbox with javascript. I realize now that this is not going to happen due to security issues. Has anyone done anything on the server side? or know of any .Net browser in browser controls. The ultimate goal is to just give the user an easy method of extracting the url of the page they are viewing in the iframe It doesn't necessarily HAVE to be an iframe, a browser in the browser would be ideal.   I have a default page which loads different controls on pageload according to the querystring. I have a control which creates checkbox list (inside div_A) on load and get checkbox checked through database, then i click Continue, div_A get invisible with all the checked checkbox id in hidden field and div_B is visible true.   I've a asp.net datagrid which shows customer order details. Pagination at the bottom of the grid is done using datalist and asp.net Linkbutton controls. • UISwitch text not showing on device

  Hi, I have a screen with several UISwitch controls. On my iPhone simulator this screen works correctly and The Switch text shows as On/Off. Different on my testing device (iPod Touch). Here the text seems to get lost and I only get "1" (instead of "On") and "0" (instead of "Off"). I don't know where the iPod Touch is different and why it's not showing correctly. Anyone had a similar experience? Is this a bug? Cheers

• How can CSS stop Google Maps loading?

  I have a page with a Google Maps div: <div id="map_canvas" style="width: 100%; height: 332px;" ></div> If I comment out my CSS, the map loads fine: if I include the CSS, the map controls load, but the map tiles don't load: there's just a grey background. This is the case even if I put the map div just after the <body> tag, not within any styled element at all. No CSS, it loads fine. With CSS, no map. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I don't quite understand what the problem can be if no CSS styles are being applied to any element that contains the map. If more diagnostics are needed, please let me know, and I'll deploy the broken map onto a staging site, so people can look at the source.

• Cannot customize Solution Explorer project context menu in VS 2010

  I'm trying to customize that context menu which comes up when you right click the project in the Solution Explorer. When I goto: Tools - Customize - Commands - Context Menu (radio button) - Project and Solution Context Menus | Project (drop down) I get nothing in the "controls:" list. I can modify other context menus starting with "Project and Solution Context Menus" but none of them is the right one. Any ideas? Currently I have ReSharper, PowerTools and StyleCop installed, but I have installed and uninstalled bunch of other addins (dotTrace, CodeIt.Right, VisualHG, DevExpress, random stuff from Extension Manager).

• How to create Ribbon tabs dynamically?

  I want to start developmet of new application using PrismV4, MEF, Ribbon. But now, I have a problem. How to create tabs for Ribbon dynamically? Each module in application could create own tab in Ribbon. And each tab may have many groups. How can it be done? Where do I need to place each group's definitions (what controls to use (buttons, textboxes, comboboxes, etc) and command bindings and how? Do I need to write XAML somewhere in Module, or all it can be done by code? And last question, how to notify Ribbon (in Shell) to add these tabs to Ribbon? Shall I use EventAggregator to communicate from Module to Shell? Or? Thanks for any advices and Happy New Year :)

• How to automate testing of a browser-based app?

  If it were a windows program, I would use Auto it to automate testing. Is there something similar for browser-based apps? Nothing too complex, it should just allow scripting (preferable for me to macro-recording) to simulate human interaction with the browser, which means being able to identify fields of a form by name, inject text into some, simulate mouse-click on others, etc and then, after submitting a form, should be able to read text certain named controls, check the status of others (checked, radio group index, read-only, etc). While I do appreciate a full featured product, I don't appreciate a steep learning curve. so something as simple as the scripting of Auto It woudl be fine. I don't know if it makes a difference which browser is used, but I could live with MSIE 6 or higher (maybe 7 or higher at a push).

• Asp.net control inside of fancybox modal is not "working"

  Your typical "It doesn't work" freak out going on over here. Any direction would help. I have a login control on my master page and I'm trying to only display it using jquery fancybox and then redirect the user once they are logged in. But any buttons or controls that should do "something" when pressed when I put inside the fancy box are not responding. If I keep the div visible and then use the control not using fancybox I get the expected result. What are my options?

• Get products to display on custom Magento page

  How can you get products to display on a custom Magento page? Naturally, this is not an uncommon question but nothing that I've seen has solved it for me. The common response is to put the following code in through the CMS editor: {{block type="catalog/product_list" name="home.catalog.product.list" alias="products_homepage” template=”catalog/product/list.phtml”}} Which just displays the message "There are no products matching the selection." on my page. Other websites advise reindexing the data through the Magento admin controls, clearing the Magento cache, and making sure products are set to a store, none of which helped in my case. Anyone have any ideas?

  I have an application which has different font sizes for different controls say Button: 10, TextBlock : 12 etc. I want to give options to the user where he can select any one of the below say Normal , Small, Big, Bigger. Suppose one selects "small" I would want to decrease every distinct font size by 2. If "Big", I would want to increase every font size by 2. I hope we can do this using converter sending actual font size as parameter and render as per the selected choice if I am not wrong. What will be the best option.   I'm using an MVC pattern in winforms application. I need to call remote service asynchronously. So On some event in View I invoke corresponding Presenter method. In Presenter I call BeginInvoke method of service. But to View must be updated only in Main Thread. I could actualy point CallBack to some function in View, and update it`s controls state, but this conflicts with MVP pattern - View must not be responsible for data it carries. This callback function must be in Presenter. But how then invoke View in Main Thread?

• Clicking MDI children form doesn't bring it to front

  This is a winform question in .net. In a MDI form, if I open several children forms, for some forms, if they are not activated (if you overlap them with the activate one, they are not up to front. Only the activate form is up to front.), clicking them don't bring them to front. This is even true if I click controls on them, such as a textbox. The textbox gets focus and you can intput things, but that form is still not activated. Interestingly enough, this is not the case for all the children forms I created. Some forms behave correctly but others don't. Did I do something wrong? I think the correct behavior is that, everytime I click a form, bring it up to front. Thank you for any suggestion.

  Hello All, I have an ASP.NET 3.5 webforms project written in VB that involves a multi-table SQL Server insert. That is, I want the customer to input all their contact information, order details etc. into one control (thinking wizard control). Then, I want to call a stored procedure that does the insert into the respective database tables. I'm familiar and comfortable with the ASP.NET wizard control. However, all the examples I've seen in my searches pertain to inserting data into one table. Questions: 1. Given a typical order process - customer information, order information, order details - should a wizard control be used to insert data into multiple database tables? If not, what controls/workflow do you suggest? 2. I've set primary keys and indexes on my order details, orders and customers tables. Is there special stored procedure syntax to use to ensure that referential integrity is maintained through the insert process? Thanks, Sid

  I have a simple navigation based iPhone app, in which user can navigate form one view to another view. There is only one view which have 4 tab. Each tab loads a a seperate nib with a corresponding controller. Each nib contains a tableview with some other controls for searching/filtering etc. Apprt from this I dont need tabBar in any view. So for ex: Login View Welcome View (With TabBar) user select Setting tab and select any setting option Setting Detail view(WITHOUT tabbar) Back WelcomView( With Tab Bar) I am confused how to add a tab bar in navigation based template where only one view is using tabBar all other uses Navigation I hope you understand my problem. • MSVC++ 6.0: Fatal error C1509 "Too many exception handler states in function"

  I'm working on a project that uses a lot of generated files for a GUI. After some recent updates, I get this error. If I remove some controls (the new ones or some old ones, doesn't seem to matter which), the error goes away. I've temporarily worked around the problem, but I'd like a more permanent solution. I've seen mentioned on the web that there's a fix for this in VS.Net 2003, but I can't find anything for 6.0. Does anyone know of a hotfix or service pack that fixes this?
