  • Hierarchy as grid

    - by seesharp
    I have hierarchy: public class Parameter { public string Name { get; set; } public Value Value { get; set; } } public abstract class Value { } public class StringValue : Value { public string Str { get; set; } } public class ComplexValue : Value { public ComplexValue() { Parameters = new List<Parameter>(); } public List<Parameter> Parameters { get; set; } } /// Contains ComplexValue public class ComplexParameter : Parameter { } And XAML with templates <Window.Resources> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type pc:Parameter}"> <Grid> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition/> <ColumnDefinition/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Label Grid.Column="0" Content="{Binding Name}"/> <ContentPresenter Grid.Column="1" Content="{Binding Value}"/> </Grid> </DataTemplate> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type pc:ComplexParameter}"> <StackPanel> <Label Content="{Binding Name}"/> <ContentControl Margin="18,0,0,0" Content="{Binding Value}"/> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type pc:ComplexValue}"> <ItemsControl ItemsSource="{Binding Parameters}"/> </DataTemplate> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type pc:StringValue}"> <TextBox Text="{Binding Str}"/> </DataTemplate> </Window.Resources> This look like: Param1 -Control---- Param2 -Control---- Complex1 Sub Param1 -Control- Sub Param2 -Control- Or image here: freeimagehosting.net/uploads/9d438f52e7.png Question How to do indent only in left column (parameter names).   • Referencing a control inside a XSL Template from code behind ?

    - by Mina Samy
Hi all I have a custom NewItem.aspx that I made by creating a new aspx from the exisiting one I wanted to put a control in a row inside the XSL Template like this <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlSectors" AutoPostBack="true" runat="server" __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('i',ddlSectors,'SelectedValue','TextChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Sector')}"> </asp:DropDownList> <!--<SharePoint:FormField runat="server" id="ff7{$Pos}" ControlMode="New" FieldName="Sector" __designer:bind="{ddwrt:DataBind('i',concat('ff7',$Pos),'Value','ValueChanged','ID',ddwrt:EscapeDelims(string(@ID)),'@Sector')}"/>--> <SharePoint:FieldDescription runat="server" id="ff7description{$Pos}" FieldName="Sector" ControlMode="New"/> Now I want to reference ddlSectors from my code library but it always throws an object reference not set to an instatnce of an object. I believe that this is becuase the control is inside the XSL template. so is there any workaround for this ? thanks

  • Swift CMutablePointers in factories e.g. NewMusicSequence

    - by Gene De Lisa
How do you use C level factory methods in Swift? Let's try using a factory such as NewMusicSequence(). OSStatus status var sequence:MusicSequence status=NewMusicSequence(&sequence) This errors out with "error: variable 'sequence' passed by reference before being initialized". Set sequence to nil, and you get EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION. You can try being explicit like this: var sp:CMutablePointer<MusicSequence>=nil status=NewMusicSequence(sp) But then you get a bad access exception when you set sp to nil. If you don't set sp, you get an "error: variable 'sp' used before being initialized" Here's the reference.

  • XMLHttpRequest inside an oject: how to keep the refrence to "this"

    - by Julien
I make some Ajax calls from inside a javascript object.: myObject.prototye = { ajax: function() { this.foo = 1; var req = new XMLHttpRequest(); req.open('GET', url, true); req.onreadystatechange = function (aEvt) { if (req.readyState == 4) { if(req.status == 200) { alert(this.foo); // reference to this is lost } } } }; Inside the onreadystatechange function, this does not refer to the main obecjt anymore, so I don't have access to this.foo. Ho can I keep the reference to the main object inside XMLHttpRequest events?

  • I need someone for explain this ASP function to me.

    - by Ronnie Chester Lynwood
Hello! I've got an ASP document that 5 years old. Actually I'm working with PHP but I must use ASP for a Windows Application. So I need someone to explain this function to me. Thanks anyway. //DNS SETTINGS ARE INCLUDED ALREADY. function Check_Is_Web_Locked() dim cmdDB , Ret OpenDatabase Set cmdDB = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Command") With cmdDB .ActiveConnection = DBCon .CommandText = "TICT_CHECK_WEB_STATUS" .CommandType = adCmdStoredProc .Parameters.Append .CreateParameter("RETURN_VALUE", adInteger, adParamReturnValue, 0) .Execute,,adExecuteNoRecords Ret = Trim(.Parameters("RETURN_VALUE")) End With Set cmdDB = Nothing CloseDatabase Check_Is_Web_Locked = Ret end function What does this functions do? Is "TICT_CHECK_WEB_STATUS" a StoredProcedure? If it's what are the coulumns that function looking for?

  • How to use a data type (table) defined in another database in SQL2k8?

    - by Victor Rodrigues
I have a Table Type defined in a database. It is used as a table-valued parameter in a stored procedure. I would like to call this procedure from another database, and in order to pass the parameter, I need to reference this defined type. But when I do DECLARE @table dbOtherDatabase.dbo.TypeName , it tells me that The type name 'dbOtherDatabase.dbo.TypeName' contains more than the maximum number of prefixes. The maximum is 1. How could I reference this table type?

  • Dynamic Multiple Choice (Like a Wizard) - How would you design it? (e.g. Schema, AI model, etc.)

    - by henry74
This question can probably be broken up into multiple questions, but here goes... In essence, I'd like to allow users to type in what they would like to do and provide a wizard-like interface to ask for information which is missing to complete a requested query. For example, let's say a user types: "What is the weather like in Springfield?" We recognize the user is interested in weather, but it could be Springfield, Il or Springfield in another state. A follow-up question would be: What Springfield did you want weather for? 1 - Springfield, Il 2 - Springfield, Wi You can probably think of a million examples where a request is missing key data or its ambiguous. Make the assumption the gist of what the user wants can be understood, but there are missing pieces of data required to complete the request. Perhaps you can take it as far back as asking what the user wants to do and "leading" them to a query. This is not AI in the sense of taking any input and truly understanding it. I'm not referring to having some way to hold a conversation with a user. It's about inferring what a user wants, checking to see if there is an applicable service to be provided, identifying the inputs needed and overlaying that on top of what's missing from the request, then asking the user for the remaining information. That's it! :-) How would you want to store the information about services? How would you go about determining what was missing from the input data? My thoughts: Use regex expressions to identify clear pieces of information. These will be matched to the parameters of a service. Figure out which parameters do not have matching data and look up the associated question for those parameters. Ask those questions and capture answers. Re-run the service passing in the newly captured data. These would be more free-form questions. For multiple choice, identify the ambiguity and search for potential matches ranked in order of likelihood (add in user history/preferences to help decide). Provide the top 3 as choices. Thoughts appreciated. Cheers, Henry

  • Puzzle: Overload a C++ function according to the return value

    - by Motti
We all know that you can overload a function according to the parameters: int mul(int i, int j) { return i*j; } std::string mul(char c, int n) { return std::string(n, c); } Can you overload a function according to the return value? Define a function that returns different things according to how the return value is used: int n = mul(6, 3); // n = 18 std::string s = mul(6, 3); // s = "666" // Note that both invocations take the exact same parameters (same types) You can assume the first parameter is between 0-9, no need to verify the input or have any error handling.

  • <transport> tag within the ServicesReferences.ClientConfig

    - by jdiaz
I've created a WCF service and added it to an existing Silverlight application that I am working on. When I run the silverlight application in debug mode it fails when I reference the WCF web service. Unrecognized element '' in service reference configuration. Note that only a subset of the Windows Communication Foundation configuration functionality is available in Silverlight. After searching around apparently the following line is causing the app to fail: <transport> <extendedProtectionPolicy policyEnforcement="Never" /> </transport> After removing the above lines everything works. What is the issue here? Should I believing this code in and configuring something else?

  • Database design - alternatives for Entity Attribute Value (AEV)

    - by Bob
Hi, see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/695752/product-table-many-kinds-of-product-each-product-has-many-parameters for similar topic. My question: i want to design a database, that will be used for a production facility of different types of products where each product has its own (number of) parameters. because i want the serial numbers to be in one tabel for overview purposes i have a problem with these different paraeters . One solution could be AEV, but it has its downsides, certainly because we have +- 5 products with every product +- 20.000 serial numbers (records). it looks a bit overkill to me... I just don't know how one could design a database so that you have an attribute in a mastertable that says: 'hey, you could find details of this record in THAT detail-table". 'in a way that you qould easely query the results) currenty i am using Visual Basic & Acces 2007. but i'm going to Visual Basic & MySQL. thanks for your help. Bob

  • Creating a VS 2010 Project with only content files.

    - by Cameron Peters
I have some content files that I would like to share between a number of projects in Visual Studio. I have put these files in their own project, set the build action to "Content", and the copy to output directory to "Copy if newer". I would like all these files to be copied to the bin/debug directory of the projects that reference them. I can get it to work by including a reference to the "contents" project in each of the projects that need the files, but that requires that a minimal assembly be generated (3K). I assume there is a way, using MSBuild, to make this all work without creating the empty assembly?

  • Get class of caller's method (via inspect) in Python (alt: super() emulator)

    - by Slava Vishnyakov
Is it possible to get reference to class B in this example? class A(object): pass class B(A): def test(self): test2() class C(B): pass import inspect def test2(): frame = inspect.currentframe().f_back cls = frame.[?something here?] # cls here should == B (class) c = C() c.test() Basically, C is child of B, B is child of A. Then we create c of type C. Then the call to c.test() actually calls B.test() (via inheritance), which calls to test2(). test2() can get the parent frame frame; code reference to method via frame.f_code; self via frame.f_locals['self']; but type(frame.f_locals['self']) is C (of course), but not B, where method is defined. Any way to get B?

  • HTTP compression - can I configure a client to compress the data sent to a server?

    - by lgomide
Hello, I'm using IIS 7 as web server for my application. If I enable dynamic content compression in the server, will this also enable clients to send compressed data to the server, if they can? I mean, my application uses SOAP webservices, and clients usually send large chunks of data to the server. The clients are written in C#/.NET. Is there any kind of configuration I can do in a web reference / serice reference in order to tell them to compress the content before they send it to IIS? And do I have to do any kind of configuration in IIS in order for this to work? Thanks in advance

  • Intermittent "Specified cast is invalid" with StructureMap injected data context

    - by FreshCode
I am intermittently getting an System.InvalidCastException: Specified cast is not valid. error in my repository layer when performing an abstracted SELECT query mapped with LINQ. The error can't be caused by a mismatched database schema since it works intermittently and it's on my local dev machine. Could it be because StructureMap is caching the data context between page requests? If so, how do I tell StructureMap v2.6.1 to inject a new data context argument into my repository for each request? Update: I found this question which correlates my hunch that something was being re-used. Looks like I need to call Dispose on my injected data context. Not sure how I'm going to do this to all my repositories without copypasting a lot of code. Edit: These errors are popping up all over the place whenever I refresh my local machine too quickly. Doesn't look like it's happening on my remote deployment box, but I can't be sure. I changed all my repositories' StructureMap life cycles to HttpContextScoped() and the error persists. Code: public ActionResult Index() { // error happens here, which queries my page repository var page = _branchService.GetPage("welcome"); if (page != null) ViewData["Welcome"] = page.Body; ... } Repository: GetPage boils down to a filtered query mapping in my page repository. public IQueryable<Page> GetPages() { var pages = from p in _db.Pages let categories = GetPageCategories(p.PageId) let revisions = GetRevisions(p.PageId) select new Page { ID = p.PageId, UserID = p.UserId, Slug = p.Slug, Title = p.Title, Description = p.Description, Body = p.Text, Date = p.Date, IsPublished = p.IsPublished, Categories = new LazyList<Category>(categories), Revisions = new LazyList<PageRevision>(revisions) }; return pages; } where _db is an injected data context as an argument, stored in a private variable which I reuse for SELECT queries. • How to better design it ???

    - by Deepak
public interface IBasePresenter { } public interface IJobViewPresenter : IBasePresenter { } public interface IActivityViewPresenter : IBasePresenter { } public class BaseView { public IBasePresenter Presenter { get; set; } } public class JobView : BaseView { public IJobViewPresenter JobViewPresenter { get { this.Presenter as IJobViewPresenter;} } } public class ActivityView : BaseView { public IActivityViewPresenter ActivityViewPresenter { get { this.Presenter as IActivityViewPresenter;} } } Lets assume that I need a IBasePresenter property on BaseView. Now this property is inherited by JobView and ActivityView but if I need reference to IJobViewPresenter object in these derived classes then I need to type cast IBasePresenter property to IJobViewPresenter or IActivityPresenter (which I want to avoid) or create JobViewPresenter and ActivityViewPresenter on derived classes (as shown above). I want to avoid type casting in derived classes and still have reference to IJobViewPresenter or IActivityViewPresenter and still have IBasePresenter in BaseView. Is there a way I can achieve it ?

  • select n largest using LINQ

    - by Mathias
This is likely a novice question about LINQ, but assuming I have a set of Items with a DateTime property, one date having at most one item, how would I go about selecting the N most recent items from a date of reference, that is, the N items which have a date smaller that the requested date, and the largest date? My naive thought would be to first select items with a date smaller than the reference date, sort by date, and select the N first items from that subset. var recentItems = from item in dataContext.Items where item.Date<=date orderby item.Date descending select item; var mostRecentItems = recentItems.Take(5).ToList(); Is this the "right" way to do it, or are there obviously better ways to achieve my goal?

  • Ways to improve Java Generics and dont say get rid of wildcards and reification.

    - by mP
Sometimes i like to write up template classes and use type parameters to make the abstract methods more type safe. Template<X> { abstract void doStuff( X ); // NOT public } While type safety is great etc, the problem remains that even though X is not visible to outside code, one must still include the type to avoid warnings. My solution in this case would be to make it possible to define a scope for type parameters (now they are always public). Would other original features besides the obvious would you like.

  • Python module seeing a full list as empty in another module

    - by Nick
I'm working on a pygame project and have the main engine layed out. The problem is I hit a bug that I just can not seem to figure out. What happens is one module can't read a variable from another module. It's not that the variable can't be read, it just sees an empty list instead of what it really is. Instead of posting the entire source code I reproduced the bug in two small snippets that hopefully a skillful python-ist can interpret in his\her head. Code: main.py (This is the file that gets run) import screen screens = [] #A stack for all the game screens def current_screen(): #return a reference to the current screen return screens[-1] def play(): print'play called' current_screen().update() if __name__=='__main__': screens.append(screen.Screen()) play() screen.py import main class Screen: def __init__(self): print'screen made' def update(self): print main.screens #Should have a reference to itself in there Thanks!

  • c# create an arbitrary length generic parameter string e.g. ?,?,?

    - by Sky Sanders
I know I am forgetting to remember how to do this and it is late. I want to, in an elegant manner, build a placeholder list for a munged sql command. Have a command with an arbitrary number of parameters, need to build ?,?,? Did I mention that it was a wet brain fart? this is what came out: Regex.Replace(new string('?', _command.Parameters.Count), @"\?\?", @"\?,\?"); You are welcome to make me feel like more of an idiot if you just remember me what I am forgetting. ;-)

  • Java program has errors, 80 lines of code

    - by user2961687
    I have a problem with a program. It contains a lot of errors in Eclipse. Sorry for my english and thank you in advance. Here is the task: I. Declare a class that contains private fields Jam: String taste, double weight Create constructors containing variables as parameters: (String taste, double weight), (double weight), (String taste). Parameters constructors should initialize class fields. In case the constructor does not provide the necessary parameter, it must be assumed that the field taste must have the value "No Name" and weight - 100.0. Introduce the use of all constructors creating objects that represent three kinds of jams. Note: it must be assumed that the only constructor with two parameters can be assigned to fields of the class. Declare a class Jar that contains the field Jam jam, a dedicated constructor initiating all declared fields and methods: open close isItOpen Next, create an object of class Jar and fill it with the selected type of jam, operations repeat for all the kinds of jams. This is my code this far: public class App { public static void main(String[] args) { Jam strawberry = new Jam("strawberry", 20.45); Jam raspberry = new Jam(40.50); Jam peach = new Jam("peach"); Jar jar_1 = new Jar(); Jar jar_2 = new Jar(); Jar jar_3 = new Jar(); jar_1.open(); jar_1.fillIn(strawberry); jar_2.fillIn(peach); jar_3.fillIn(raspberry); } } class Jam { String taste; double weight; public Jam(String taste, double weight) { this.taste = taste; this.weight = weight; } public Jam(double weight) { this.taste = "No name"; this.weight = weight; } public Jam(String taste) { this.taste = taste; this.weight = 100.0; } } class Jar { public Jam Jam = new Jam(); private String state_jar; public Jar() { Jam.weight = 0; Jam.taste = ""; state_jar = "closed"; } public static String open() { state_jar = open; return state_jar; } public static String close() { state_jar = "closed"; return state_jar; } public static boolean isItOpen() { return state_jar; } public void fillIn(Jam jam) { if (isItOpen == false) open(); this.Jam.weight = jam.weight; this.Jam.taste = jam.taste; this.Jam.close(); } }
