Some good tips and tricks for using WordPress usually start with SEO plugins. The best plugin will change almost constantly because a new one is being made around the clock.
Adding several Google Analytics custom campaign parameters can make URLs very long.
For example, in Google's own examples:
http://www.example.com/?utm_campaign=spring&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=exampleblog
http://www.example.com/?utm_campaign=spring&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter1
http://www.example.com/?utm_campaign=spring&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter1&utm_content=toplink
Is there shorter alternatives that GA will pick up?
One good thing about Search Engine Optimization is that anyone can use its strategies to promote their websites without having to learn it in school. There are tons of reference online about SEO and how an individual can push through with their own implementation and end in success.
All my WordPress post URLs generate subdirectories with duplicate content and I do not know what regular expression to use to consistently 301 redirect domain.com/category/post/random-number/ to domain.com/category/post/ and domain.com/category/post/random-number/another-random-number/ also to domain.com/category/post/.
Here is an example of my problem:

Talking about search engine optimization, it is a highly recognized search engine marketing technique in the world online business today. That is why SEO can do many wonders for your business within a very short span of time.
I've tried several attempts to resolve this, but all have come up naught.
Currently I have apache setup to forward all urls at and past the /portal/ tag to tomcat. Unfortunately, tomcat receives these requests through /portal/appName, a subdirectory in webapps rather than the webapps root directory where my wars are deployed.
Is there a simple solution to this that I'm not seeing? I've been trying to use mod_rewrite to ^/portal/ $ / but that doesn't yield the expected results (perhaps I'm doing this wrong?).

Keyword writing is simply the process of utilizing a predetermined set of words within an article. Usually this is done with the goal of reaching a specific percentage or "density" of keywords within the article. This type of article writing is useful for SEO purposes, and is a very commonplace practice having originated years ago when it became obvious that relevancy and repetition is a factor in search engine results.
I use a shared computer, so I need to make it user friendly for my-less-than-computer-knowledgable friend
currently have Ubuntu 12.10 installed
I would like to change the GRUB menu so that Windows 7 is at the top of the list (thus allowing the automatic timeout to automatically select it on startup) and Ubuntu down below
I've already used the information used at { How do I change the grub boot order? } and that didn't work.

Can I change the video options on the new dash menu?
To be more precise, on the video file find menu filters, can I Add, Remove or Change what URLs can be include? If so how can I do?
For example if I want to change in the filters youtube shows to YouTube comedy, how you do it?
(I just installed MyUnity but from what I read and tested it won't fully work on Unity 2D, however I can change video filters using that)

a client has asked my to develop their site, they already own 3 domains, mydomain.eu, .net and .com
they want all the traffic from .eu and .net to redirect to .com, ive explained to them that it is not that relevant as people will search for them in search engines rather than typing in the domain, but they still would like me to do it.
As far as i know this is fine to do from an Seo point of view but i thought id just double check ..
The first thing you do is to have your own website. Like beauty for human beings there is design for a website. A site that is hopeless on SEO could be very attractive with its design.
If you want to succeed in the fierce and competitive world of e-commerce it is essential to have a website that will make you stand out from the crowd and that will market you and your product effectively. You may have a fantastic product or service, or something really important to shout about, but without the use of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), your website could fail to get noticed.
Not to sure why I did this. But I submitted the same sitemap for our .co.uk and .com domain.
Looking to put the .com domain on different hosting and create a new site for international customers using .com domain.
Should I remove all urls in google webmasters for the .com domain, guessing this won't have a negative effect on .co.uk stuff and add robot.txt to make sure the .com domain is not crawled?
Thanks
