  How do I pipe a list of numbers straight from the shell into a command? For exampe something like this [1,2,3,4] | sort would give 1 2 3 4 EDIT: In response to the answers kindly posted so far . . . I ask this, because I want to quickly test and debug a console application that takes many numbers as it input without having to type lots of individual values followed by carriage returns. I'd like to just type in the 'one liner' and hit the up arrow now and then to replay the command. Ideally, I'd like to do this without using a text file containing the values (which would obviously be the most simple way to do this.)

  i need the commands to list these things for a class but for the life of me i cannot figure it out if anyone could offer any insight on how to get so specific with the egrep command or just answer the questions it would be highly appreciated some i have already figured out but if they look wrong any corrections may help too List all words that have the letter a followed immediately by the letter z. egrep {a,}{z,} words List all words that have the letter a followed sometime later by the letter z (there must be at least one letter in between). Egrep {a,?,z} words List all words that start with the letter a and end with the letter z. egrep "^a.*z$" words List all five letter words that start with the letter a and end with the letter z. List all words that start with two capital letters followed immediately by at least one lower case letter. List all words with two consecutive a’s or i’s or u’s. • Cisco ASA not forwarding traffic from one interface to another

  Hello ServerFault, I am needing help in the configuration process of my Cisco ASA 5510. I have set up 4 Cisco ASA interconnected together via a big LAN. Each Cisco ASA has 3 or 4 LANs attached to them. The IP routing part is taken care of by OSPF. My problem is on another level. A computer connected to one of the LANs attached to an ASA has no problem communicating with the outside world. The outside world being anything "after" the ASA. My problem is that I am completely unable to have them communicate with another LAN connected to the same ASA. To rephrase this, I am unable to send traffic from one interface of a given ASA to another interface of the same ASA.   We have a LAN where workstations are randomly losing network connectivity for brief moments of time. The workstations can also take a long time to login to the domain. During our troubleshooting we have found an error log on a few Windows 7 workstations: Warning BROWSER 8021 The browser was unable to retrieve a list of servers from the browser master \\random-pc on the network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{BBABCDE9-D8A0-4399-93F2-492FE0848B12}. The data is the error code. What do these errors mean? What computers should have the Computer Browser service enabled, workstations and/or servers? The environment is a mix of Windows 7 & Windows XP workstations on a Windows Server SBS 2011 SP1 domain.

• Why did numbered list stop working after I hit Enter?

  I have a numbered list like: 1.0 Excel 2010 1.1 Introduction to Excel 2010 1.1.A. A general overview of Excel 2010, geared towards beginners 1.1.B. There are 3 videos in this series I put the cursor at the end of the last line on 1.1.B and hit Enter. The next line should begin with 1.1.C but nothing appears when the cursor returns to the next line. Another example, if I put the cursor at the end of 1.1.A and hit enter, I should get a new 1.1.B and the original 1.1.B should be renamed to 1.1.C. After hitting enter, a new 1.1.B doesn't appear and the previous 1.1.B drops all the way to the next page. So the next bullet number that should come up doesn't come up. I tried Microsoft Fix It to reset the Registry and that didn't work either. This is very frustrating. Does anybody know how to fix this?

  Is it possible to open the Quota Entries list for a given drive from a shortcut or the command line in Windows? And if so, how? I'm not talking about managing quota entries from the command line (fsutil quota), I'm looking for a way to get directly to the Quota Entries GUI rather than going through My Computer → right-click on a drive → Properties → Quota tab → Show Quota Settings → Quota Entries... I managed to find out (using Process Explorer) that the backend process is dllhost.exe, and the DLL in question should be dskquoui.dll, so it should be possible to run it directly with rundll32.exe, but I'm not sure of the exact syntax. Any ideas?

• Dual booting Windows and Arch Linux (with GRUB2) - after using Windows, Windows Boot Manager made first in boot priority list

  I am dual booting Windows 7 and Arch Linux (both 64bit), with GRUB2, using the 64-bit EFI version. I partitioned my drive into a GPT drive and installed Windows first according to this guide. I then installed Arch Linux using the Beginner's Guide, installing grub2-efi-x86_64 in the process. Everything is working fine now, but with one problem. I can set the boot priority in BIOS (or is it UEFI?) to have GRUB boot try and boot before Windows Boot Manager. Then I chainload Windows Boot Manager using GRUB. However, when I actually use Windows in this manner, upon shutting down and turning on again, or rebooting, Windows seems to set Windows Boot Manager first in the priority list again, with the result being I have to manually set GRUB again, or I can't boot into Linux. My motherboard is an Asrock H61M/USB3, if that helps. I want to know how to turn off this behaviour.

• Windows Server 2012 Essentials - Trying to setup "Anywhere Access" but the "Computer Access" list for users is blank

  I have a new installation of Windows Server 2012 Essentials and I'm trying to setup "Anywhere Access" for both VPN and remote desktop. The basic setup is all working. Shared folders is working but remote desktop has no computers available. On the server, if I edit a user with the Essentials Dashboard and go to "Computer access", the list is empty. The desktop computers have been joined to the domain. I can see them in AD under "Computers". I think our mistake was that we didn't use the connector tool to join the domain. We moved from a previous domain and went to Computer / Properties, changed the domain and started with a new profile. Is there something I can do now to make these desktops available for remote desktop? I can access a desktop directly no problem by going directly to it with the RDP client on port 3389. I do that from the outside world through an SSH tunnel.

  Hello Expets, I do not have much skills in linux and installed a system two years ago that I now had to reboot, but it seems I did not automate everything with start-scripts... My Problem: I miss some mountpoints. I have a list of my raids (excerpt:) md3 : active (auto-read-only) raid1 sda6[0] sdb6[1] 97659008 blocks [2/2] [UU] md4 : active (auto-read-only) raid1 sda7[0] sdb7[1] 250099776 blocks [2/2] [UU] and it seems md3 and md4 are NOT mounted. However i do NOT have any entries for them fstab file. What should I do next. I do NOT know which filesystem they have (most likely ext3). =Can I savely try to mount them with (mount -t ext3 /dev/md3 /mnt/mymntpoint) or will the lead to corrupted data, in case they are not ext3? What should I do next (based on the information given above). The goal is to remount these Devices again, but I do not know anything about them anymore... Thank you very much Jens

  I am always on the lookout for the latest and greatest monitors, but for some reason, I have never found a good resource for this information. And while we know months in advance what new processor will be released, it doesn't seem like we ever know what new monitors will be released until they are. I am tempted to buy a Dell 3008WFP, but since the 30" 2560x1600 monitors have been out for 6 years, I would expect something better is about to be released. • What does this WinImage Error Mean?

  Hi, I am using WinImage (version 8.0) on Windows XP SP3 to create a VHD File from my Hard Drive, however, everytime I try to, everytime it says: "I/O error in reading data on position 000000007cd40000:00010000. Error 23: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)." with the options "Abort", "Retry", "Skip" & "Skip All". Everytime I try "Retry" the message comes, if I click skip another message comes up (same as above, except the data position). I have run "CHKDSK /F /R" several times, but the error always appears. What is wrong? Can I safely skip the Errors? Is there anything I can do to fix the error?

  Occassionally a user's email password will become compromised and the spammer will flood the Qmail queue with 10,000+ emails sent through a specific user's account. I know how to use qmqtool to remove messages that match a specific string: qmqtool -d -f "[email protected]" However the -f argument matches anywhere in the message. -f 'STRING' display comma separated list of message number(s) containing STRING. That means messages to, from, and even mentioning that email address will all be deleted. Does qmqtool (or another qmail tool) have a command for matching messages from a specific envelope sender? Note: I only want to match the authenticated sender, not the "From:" which is always forged in this case anyway.

  I've been setting up a server based around a Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R motherboard (G33, PCH9R with integrated Realtek 811B network device. I've enabled it in the BIOS, but it doesn't show up in the pre-boot PCI device list, isn't recognized by Windows (even after installing the chipset and networking drivers) and doesn't even show up via lspci. I've tried cycling power, disabling, cycling again, enabling, cycling again etc. to no avail. I'm sort of at a loss at this point; the board isn't under warranty anymore, but I'd rather not have to replace it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

  I often use facebook for communication while working. When I do, I'd rather not see the facebook newsfeed. Unfortunately it's hard to remember to not go to the frontpage and use facebook.com/messages or facebook.com/events. Is there any way to always redirect from the url https://www.facebook.com/ to https://www.facebook.com/events/list? I use firefox on osx.   I provide support to a lot of clients. I have created a folder for each client, and under each client folder, I create a folder for the date on which the issue was reported. Now due to growing data, I want to delete all issues for all clients which are before a cut off date. The problem is while creating the date folder, I have not always followed a specific convention, some are creating using dd-MM-yyyy, some are using dd.MM.yyyy, etc. Is there a quick way I can list all such date subfolders, and then choose which ones I do not want, and delete them? It would be nice to see inherited permissions as well, but I could do with just explicit permissions. A little background: I'm trying to update groups/permissions on a test server. One of the groups, Devs, wasn't implemented correctly when it was created, and my goal is to remove it from the system. It has been replaced by LeadDevelopers, which has permissions on many — but naturally not all — of the same folders. I want to make sure that I don't accidentally orphan any folders or cause any other issues when I remove Devs. It did have some admin-level permissions.

However, for some emails that comes to the group email(distgroup), 'To' and 'From' fields are same as 'From'. Normally 'To' field is supposed to be 'distrgroup'. Because of this, when I cannot run the same rule for this type of emails since group email address is not written in either 'To' or 'From'. It doesn't move that emails to my certain folder. Is there any solutions about it?
