• Base URL in ASP.net Master Pages with virtual Directories

  Hi All, I have an ASP.net master page. In this master, I have all my css and javascript files defined. I also have a few images and a few buttons and hyperlinks. All the urls are all declared as relative ie "/scripts/ian.js" Everything works fine if this site is the root website, but I need it to work in a virtual directory. My problem is when I place this website in a virtual directory under a root site, all my links are pointing to the root site. so my links point to www.root.com/scripts/ian.js but it should be pointing to www.root.com/virtualDir/scripts/ian.js I thought the Base Href tag in the header would help, but so far it does not seem to be helping in anyway. All the links are still pointing to the root website when i hover over them. Any suggestions or ideas are welcome. Thanks

  I had this problem when I created a Window (Smartgwt) and put a DynamicForm (Smartgwt) in this Window, In this DynamicForm, I have a CanvasItem (Smartgwt) in which I put a RichTextArea (GWT). And when I press "ESC", I can quit the Window (Smartgwt) without probleme. But when I press "F5" to refresh my application, the browser pops up a exception saying "com.google.gwt.user.client.ui.AttachDetachException". To solve this problem, I do the following: public class MailWindow extends Window { public MailWindow(){ this.addCloseClickHandler(new CloseClickHandler() { public void onCloseClick(CloseClientEvent event) { form.getRichTextArea().removeFromParent(); MailWindow.this.destroy(); } }); } } Which solved my problem! :) Kewei

  I have some legacy code that was used to monitor my applications cpu,memory etc that I want to convert to a bundle. Now when i start this bundle its complaining Missing Constraint: Import-Package: com.sun.management; version="0.0.0" I had used the OperatingSystemMXBean to get access to stats on the JVM. My question is can I use this class inside an OSGI container and if so how? Or should I use some other way to monitor my application. I was making an RMI call to the application from a web frontend to get the nodes performance figures pre OSGi.

• Codeigniter 404 can't find index.php (only on real server, not on virtual server)

  Hey, I got a working webpage with CodeIgniter. I did now just upload it to my webserver and it gives me a 404 error. The browser address is "web-page.com/folder/en/about" The baseurl in the config is "web-page/folder/" Also this is in the config.php, I did try AUTO but it does not work either. $config['index_page'] = ""; $config['uri_protocol'] = "QUERY_STRING"; The index.php is in "web-page.com/folder/" My htaccess is in "web-page.com/folder/.htaccess" The content of the .htaccess is AddCharset utf-8 .css .html .xhtml Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine on RewriteBase /folder/ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|images|media|layout|css|libs|robots\.txt) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /folder/index.php?/$1 [L] Do you have any tip, any idea, what can I try to do?   I have a aspx page I'm trying to (remotely) debug. It should add an image and set the src. The value seems correct if i msgbox the value that should be used for the "ImageUrl" But viewing the page there is no image and the src is: http://portal.mxlogic.com/images/transparent.gif This is a mcaffee page so is this some security thing...that is just a wild\crazy guess. Maybe i'm missing something very obvious...I did not write the code and I'm not really a aspx developer. Any ideas?? llf as requested some code... • What is "Virtual Size" in sysinternals process explorer

  Hi My application runs for few hours, There is no increase in any value ( vmsize, memory) of Task Manager. But after few hours i get out of memory errors. In sysinternals i see that "Virtual Size" is contineously increasing, and when it reach around 2 GB i start getting memory errors. So what kind of memory leak is that ? How can i demonstrate it with a code ? Is it possible to reproduce same thing with any piece of code where none of the memory value increase but only the Virtual Size in sysinternsl process explorer increase ? thanks for any suggestions

• IIS, Impersonation and COM Interop Premission Denied

  Hello we are in the throws of integrating a Document Management System with Dynamic CRM 4, have done similar things previously but in this instance we are having to reference a COM dll. We've configured the asp.net page (we are bringing the info in via a i-Frame in CRM), setting Impersonation = True in the Webconfig and ensured that Windows authentication is the only method available within IIS. All works as we would expect when logged into the server itself and the page happily does off finds all the relevant documents for the CRM account and presents them to a user in a nice Infragistics CRM styled grid. However trying this from a client workstation we get the following: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0xC0042335): Permission denied. Impersonation appears to be passing over the correct details but nothing we've tried thus far has been able to make this work outside of logging into the server. Any thoughts as to what we are missing?

  Hello, I have a very large DB used mostly for analytics. The performance overall is very sluggish. I just noticed that when running the query below, the amount of virtual memory used greatly exceeds the amount of physical memory available. Currently, physical memory is 10GB (10238k bytes) whereas the virtual memory returns significantly more - 8388607k bytes. That seems really wrong, but I'm at a bit of a loss on how to proceed.   I was recently wondering how http://500px.com calculates their "Pulse" rating. The "Pulse" is a score from 1..100 based on the popularity of the photo. I think it might use some of the following criteria: Number of likes Number of "favorites" Number of comments Total views maybe the time since the photo has been uploaded maybe some other non-obvious criteria like the users follower count, user rank, camera model or similar How would I achieve some sort of algorithm like this? Any advice on how to implement an algorithm with this criteria (and maybe some code) would be appreciated too.

  Hi I've came across on this problem, I have a sever running apache and php. We have many virtual hosts but we've noticed that a potentially malicious user could use his web space to browse other user's files(via a simple php script) and even system files, this could happens due to the php permissions. A way to avoid it is to set the open_basedir var in php.ini, yhis is very simple in a single host system, but in case of virtual hosts there would be a basebir per each host. Ho can I set dis basedir per each user/host? is there a way to let apache hereditate php privileges of the php file that has been requested E.G. /home/X_USER/index.php has as owner X_USER, when apache read the file index.php it checks its path and owner, simply I'm looking for a system set php basedir variable to that path.   I'm having an interesting problem signing my Android application, whether or not I'm using a debug key. Regardless of the JDK I have installed to /usr/bin/{java,keytool,jarsigner} (OpenJDK or Sun's JDK) it will always give the following output after compiling successfully: -package-debug-sign: [apkbuilder] Creating RemoteNotify-debug-unaligned.apk and signing it with a debug key... BUILD FAILED /home/ianweller/AndroidSDK/platforms/android-7/templates/android_rules.xml:281: The following error occurred while executing this line: /home/ianweller/AndroidSDK/platforms/android-7/templates/android_rules.xml:152: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.android.jarutils.DebugKeyProvider The application was built and signed just fine by Eclipse with the ADT plugin (even without Sun's JDK installed). I'm on Fedora 12. I'm wanting to get my code out of Eclipse and move it into a git repository, but being unable to build it from ant will not allow this to happen.

• C# Exception when retrieving rows from a datagrid in virtual mode

  Hi all, I keep getting an exception (see below) when I retrieve a list of rows from a Virtual Mode datagrid, this only happens when I have more rows than I can display on screen and it doesn't happen every time. Is there anything I'm missing with regards to virtual mode? Update The image below shows the problem, the index is now outside the list range. The reason for this is say I have 10 items and I hide 5 as they are not needed and I want to run some code on the 5 that are visible, there are now 5 items but the index of some maybe between 5-9, how can I re-index? When I have run some code on the visible 5 I then show the hidden 5 so I don't want to disgard these, I'd need to reindex again when they are all visible. Many thanks.

• Unregistering a COM wrapped .NET assembly

  I created a COM exposed .NET 2.0 dll and registered with my windows operating system using 'regasm' and 'gacutil' (in GAC). Then I tried to call this component from my classic ASP page. It worked fine. But, I need to change the functionality of my assembly. I unregistered it again using 'regasm' and 'gacutil' (from GAC) utilities and copied my new .NET DLL and registered again (This time using a new version of the DLL). For some reason, i still have a pointer to my old assembly and new calls to the DLL from ASP page are not working. Any Ideas on what process i need to follow to ensure that all the references to the old version are completely removed? I appreciate any help.

• Maven 2.1.0 not passing on system properties to Java virtual machine

  We use the command line to pass on system properties to the Java virtual machine when running our Hudson builds on a Linux box. It used to work quite well in 2.0.9 by since we upgraded to 2.1.0 it has stopped working altogether. The system properties just never make it to the Java virtual machine. I have created a small test project and indeed it does not work at all. I have attached it in case you want to give it a go.   I am trying to use the new LiveConnect features introduced in Java 6 Update 10. Code looks like this (copied from the applet tutorial): Class<?> c = Class.forName("com.sun.java.browser.plugin2.DOM"); Method m = c.getMethod("getDocument", java.applet.Applet.class); Document document = (Document) m.invoke(null, this); But all I am getting is a ClassNotFoundException for the entry-point class. This on the Mac, 10.6, with both Firefox and Safari. Java Plug-in 1.6.0_22 Using JRE version 1.6.0_22-b04-307-10M3261 Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM Is this not implemented on the Mac? Or do I need to configure something? All I need to do is get and set the value of form elements on the page, so I would be fine with an older (pre-6u10) API if that works better.

  I have a COM OCX control that I need to automate. It has a method called Open() this method is called without parameters, and always displays an open file dialog (standard one with windows). Is there a way for me to somehow get the file open dialog to open a file I specify , then close the dialog? I would also not like to use sendkeys or any other variants, because I require the solution to be reliable. So ideally would like to grab a handle on that window, and set the file name programatically, and then execute the open method programatically. Thanks in advance.

  I need direct-to-printer functionality for my website, with the ability to distinguish a physical printer from a virtual printer (file). Coupons.com has this functionality via a native binary which must be installed by the user. I'd prefer to avoid that. SmartSource.com does it via Java applet: Does anybody know how this is done? I dug through that Java APIs a bit, and don't see anything that would let you determine physical vs virtual, except looking at the name (that seems prone to misidentification). It would be nice to be able to do it in Java, because I already know how to write Java applets. Failing that, is there a way to do this in Flash or Silverlight? Thanks in advance.   Just curious to know if anyone has ever used gametutorials.com products for learning directX. I was debating on whether I should buy it or not. I read online that most of his tutorials were written in the source code. It's nice to heavily comment your code but if most of the tutorial is in his code then I don't think that is necessarily the best way to do a tutorial. But anyhow, I am not sure about that, I am just checking for clarification. and checking to see if it would be a good investment.

  Hi all, Is this statement true: com.sun.xml.internal package is an internal package as the name suggestes. Users should not write code that depends on internal JDK implementation classes. Such classes are internal implementation details of the JDK and subject to change without notice One of my colleagues used one of the classes in his code, which caused javac task in Ant fail to compile our project as the compiler couldn't find the class. Answer from Sun/Oracle says that this is expected behavior of the compiler as user shouldn't use the package. Question is why the classes in the package made public in the first place? Thanks, Sarah
