• Toshiba A205-5804 freezes when plugged in

  Well I have a Toshiba A205-5804 and the problem is that the screen freezes anytime I plug the pc into the external power supply, not as most of the computers having the same issue, my computer DOES freeze in safe mode, and I really can't bear this problem for much longer... It's not an overheating problem, the computer is not getting hot or anything related, I've already tried changing the AC adapter, booting only with AC and no battery, and also all of these suggestions: Try changing the following setting in the bios setup, under the 'Advanced' tab Dynamic CPU Frequency: Mode = Always Low (NOT DYNAMIC) My laptop has been running on AC power without a problem for 24hours, including many restarts, and when I went back to the original bios setting, the problem returned almost straight away. EDIT Other suggestions I found on the web from here and here: Set the power plan to high performance Set the power plan to "Minimal Power Management" (1 and 2 do conflict) Start - Control Panel - Device Manager -- Processor - disable one of two processors - reboot normally 4.Do this: Only plug battery into laptop Turn on the laptop and start Windows normally Plug AC adapter into laptop, the screen will freeze Leave the laptop the way it is for 12-24 hours After 12-24 hours, turn it off the hard way Once it is turned off, turn it back on. • Network Sharing Issues

  I have two computers I want to have on a network share together (so the laptop can print through the desktop's printer). These are both connected to the same router. (One wired and one wireless) And they both have the same workgroup name. However, when I type "net view" in the command prompt, the only computer that shows up is the computer I type the command into. How do I get these computers to be shared with each other? Update: The tower is running Windows XP, the Laptop is running Windows 7. I have disabled the Firewall on both until I get this set up. Update 2: Typing the command net view on my desktop is acting very strangely. Noe sometimes it only shows itself on the list of computers, sometimes it shows itself and the laptop and sometimes it doesn't work at all and displays system error 6118. I typed net view into the command prompt on the Windows 7 laptop and both computers showed up, so I went to connect to the desktop from the laptop and it said the dekptop could not be found, even though it is showing up int he list of shared computers. • Windows 7: Dual Monitor Issue

  I have a Dell laptop with a docking station and two external monitors hooked up. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. Originally, the two monitors were the same - Dell 1908FP. I have replaced one of them with an HP LA2405. I have set the HP 24" (1920 x 1200 connected via DVI port) as montior 1 and extended to use the Dell 19" (12080 x 1024 connected via VGA port) as monitor 2. I have set my power plan so that when the laptop is plugged in, it will turn the monitors off after 10 minutes, but it will not put my laptop to sleep. However, now that I have the HP monitor, when I unlock my laptop and the monitors come back on, all my windows are resized and shifted to the top left corner of the HP monitor as if they had been resized for display on the smaller Dell monitor. A co-worker has the exact same laptop and monitor configuration but doesn't experience this issue, so I figure there's some configuration that's different but we can't find it. I haven't been able to find any mention of a similar problem doing an internet search, but I'm not really sure what terms to use in my search. Anybody have any suggestions as to what may be causing the issue? OS setting? Monitor setting? EDIT: My laptop is using the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel/drivers.

• JavaScript snippet that populates the table

  I would like to write a JavaScript snippet that populates the table based on the selection, and not create several details panes and toggle their visibility. • MySQL is running VERY slow

  I have two servers: a VPS and a laptop. I recently re-built both of them, and MySQL is running about 20 times slower on the laptop. Both servers used to run CentOS 5.8 and I think MySQL 5.1, and the laptop used to do great so I do not think it is the hardware. For the VPS, my provider installed CentOS 6.4, and then I installed MySQL 5.1.69 using yum with the CentOS repo. For the laptop, I installed CentOS 6.4 basic server and then installed MySQL 5.1.69 using yum with the CentOS repo. my.cnf for both servers are identical, and I have shown below. For both servers, I've also included below the output from SHOW VARIABLES; as well as output from sysbench, file system information, and cpu information. I have tried adding skip-name-resolve, but it didn't help. The matrix below shows the SHOW VARIABLES output from both servers which is different. Again, MySQL was installed the same way, so I do not know why it is different, but it is and I think this might be why the laptop is executing MySQL so slowly. Why is the laptop running MySQL slowly, and how do I fix it? • MySQL is running VERY slow on CentOS 6x (not 5x)

  I have two servers: a VPS and a laptop. I recently re-built both of them, and MySQL is running about 20 times slower on the laptop. Both servers used to run CentOS 5.8 and I think MySQL 5.1, and the laptop used to do great so I do not think it is the hardware. For the VPS, my provider installed CentOS 6.4, and then I installed MySQL 5.1.69 using yum with the CentOS repo. For the laptop, I installed CentOS 6.4 basic server and then installed MySQL 5.1.69 using yum with the CentOS repo. my.cnf for both servers are identical, and I have shown below. For both servers, I've also included below the output from SHOW VARIABLES; as well as output from sysbench, file system information, and cpu information. I have tried adding skip-name-resolve, but it didn't help. The matrix below shows the SHOW VARIABLES output from both servers which is different. Again, MySQL was installed the same way, so I do not know why it is different, but it is and I think this might be why the laptop is executing MySQL so slowly. • Using SharePoint label to display document version in Word 2007 doesn't work when moved to another l

  I am surfacing the Document Library version of a Word 2007 document by creating a Label ({version}) within the content type of the Document Library and adding it as a Quick-part Label in the Word 2007 document. This works great. The latest version always shows up when I open the Word document. I also added this Version quick-part field to the footer of the Word document and then added this document as a document template to my content type, "ContentTypeMain". Now, I can go to my Document Library and I can create a New instance of "ContentTypeMain" with the Version field automatically there. This works great as well. However, if I create another Document Library and add the same Content Type, "ContentTypeMain" to it, the value of the Version quick-part doesn't update or refresh. The only way is to add another copy of the Label quick-part. It seems like the Quick-Part Label that maps to the Document Library Version is unique to the Document Library. My application dynamically creates subsites using site definitions and list templates. Thus the document library in each of the subsites are all being created from the same List Template. I inspected the XML files under the hood of the Word Document and it does look like there is a GUID attached to the Quick-Part Version field.

  I run a game server and want to link the persons in game character name and stats to Invision Power Board. I've setup IPB so players currently login with their in game login. That means their username on the forum is the same as their username for the game. They can have multiple characters on 1 account so ideally I'd like to allow them to choose a main character and display an actual image of that character and allow them to display other characters if they are online. Currently I'm doing something like this by hacking profileFields.php but it's messy and not very efficient on the user or server end. My code currently uses 2 custom fields which the player can enter their character names in. To display only their main character they enter the name in the first field. To also display other characters if they are online they enter the same name into the second field. To resolve the IDs I have to run a lot of queries. I know PHP but I am not familiar with IPBs code at all. I just need pointed in a direction where I can combine the 2 fields into 1 field. tl;dr: Here is my setup: Invision Power Board 3 Data is stored in MySQL on the same server the forum is hosted on.   I have been trying to user sharepoint designer to retrieve the user's full name and even the domain\username from the people pucker field but the problem is I tend to get numbers. It looks like the intetrnal Id. In my case I am getting 14 instead of domain\username from the list form's field. Any idea on where I can get the dmain\username or even better the full name? I just had to change the people picker's show field to ID. However now I am getting a weird prefix on my domain\username. I am getting this -1;#domain\username instead of just domain\username.   Hi Guys, My code appears to crash. I'm trying to setup a SensorManager for getting the Orientation of the device. I also have a listener that should update when conditions change.   I am trying to make a simple photo gallery website. Using ASP.NET and C#. Right now I don't have a server set up but I am just using the development one that Visual Studio Starts when you make a website project and run it. I have a folder on my hard drive that contains an unknown number of images. I want to write a piece of code that will go through each image and add them to the default webpage. I have tried this code but it doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? Should I be using a ListView control or a DataView or something like that? Do I need to add a virtual directory in order to access the images? If so, how do I to that on this test server? ALSO, how do I set the position and alignment of these pictures? • Android emulator performance on linux

  I installed the android SDK and eclipse plugin on my laptop, but I was surprised to find out that the emulator eats up 100% of one of my cpu cores. I have exactly the same setup on a desktop machine that does not have this issue. Both computers are running arch linux and both were updated yesterday. Granted, the desktop has better hardware than the laptop, but I was expecting to get closer to 50% cpu usage than 100% on the laptop. Both android virtual devices have the same specs: CPU: ARM Target: Android 2.3.3 - API Level 10 Skin: WVGA800 SD Card: 512M hw.lcd.density: 240 vm.heapSize: 24 hw.ramSize: 256 Laptop host has Intel Core 2 T7200 @ 2GHz cpu with 2Gb RAM. Desktop host has AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3GHz cpu with 8Gb RAM. [UPDATE] I ran the emulator with the same settings, on the same laptop under Win7 and after starting up, it didn't use 100% of a CPU core unlike under linux. Also, I tried running the emulator from a terminal in Linux and I get this message when I don't get it under the desktop Linux host: Could not configure '/dev/hpet' to have a 1024Hz timer. This is not a fatal error, but for better emulation accuracy type: 'echo 1024 /proc/sys/dev/hpet/max-user-freq' as root. I'm not really familiar with rtc or hpet, but it doesn't seem that max-user-freq setting does anything, I still get the same warning.

I have done this, but no matter what I do the images will not show up; only the alternate text. It makes no sense because the paths are correct. • Share 3G connection over WiFi-LAN network

  This is how I have established network between my PC and my laptop at home (being novice in networking, it took me few days to achieve the feat). And it is working perfectly. I can easily share files between them. Laptop IP Address: 192.168.1.4 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.2 Desktop IP Address: 192.168.1.5 Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.2 ASUS RT-N10+ Router IP Address: 192.168.1.4 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.2 I have connected the Desktop PC to the router using a LAN cable, and laptop to router over WiFi. Both, PC and laptop are running on Windows 7 OS, are on same HomeGroup, have same username / password. Also, I have connected the Ethernet cable to LAN port 1 of the router. Click here to view a graphical representation of the network. Can't post image here, because I don't have 10 reputation points. Now, what I want is use connect to Internet using a 3G USB modem on one device and share it over the network on the other. I tried Huawei and Micromax 3G USB modem. Both obtain a new IP address whenever I connect to Internet (means they have dynamic IPs). Rest, both have Subnet Mask as 255.255.255.255 and Default Gateway as 0.0.0.0. In that case, I cannot directly share Internet from the modem. Preferred DNS is blank for now in both, laptop and PC. What I am planning to do is to connect to Internet on laptop using the 3G modem and share the Internet connection over laptop's Wi-Fi (as hotspot) using Connectify, which I have done already. That, I suppose, will broadcast a static IP to connect to. Now what I can't figure out is that what changes should I make to the network settings of the router and the PC so that PC connects to the Internet broadcast by Connectify? Is that possible on the first hand? Please note that I am trying to implement the network without spending anything extra (for purchasing as USB WiFi adapter for PC, of course, which could have made the life lot easier for me). Now, I want to be able to edit the date at a future stage. However, I need the code to be able to do this. So far I have: EStartDate = new DateField("Start Date ", DateField.DATE); I had to change the name of the DateField box as this was conflicting with other things. I basically need to be able to show the selected record's date attribute. I currently have the other information displayed. I just need to be able to show the correct date. When I run the program the date field says <date>. Any help will be nice
