• eclipse tomcat debug mode slow - pegs cpu

  Running Tomcat through eclipse works fine in non-debug mode, but not in debug mode. When I try to start the Tomcat server in debug mode, the console output looks fine for a while, but then starts slowing down and eventually just stops, pegging the cpu at 100%. I tried everything I could think of to fix it: cleanesd tomcat working directory restarted eclipse restarted Windows refreshed/cleaned all projects I first had this problem last week using eclipse ganymede. I had been running fine in debug-mode for several months prior to this issue. I didn't make any significant changes to our project that would cause this. Eventually, I upgraded to eclipse galileo which solved my problem. Now 2 days later, I'm having the same problem in galileo. Like I said it works fine in non-debug mode. Any help is much appreciated. I should add that other things work in debug mode - for instance junit tests, so it is something specific to tomcat.

• Custom xsl rendering for lookup field in list view (SharePoint 2010)

  I'm trying to change rendering of a list column on list view page. • drupal - override form action?

  I originally started this question in another thread, but that thread was sorta, kinda answered, and now I primarily want to know how to specify another form action... I tried using the code below, but the form action, when output, remains unchanged, although looking at the print_r($form), it's correctly changed... • Efficient Multiple Linear Regression in C# / .Net

  Does anyone know of an efficient way to do multiple linear regression in C#, where the number of simultaneous equations may be in the 1000's (with 3 or 4 different inputs). After reading this article on multiple linear regression I tried implementing it with a matrix equation: Matrix y = new Matrix( new double[,]{{745}, {895}, {442}, {440}, {1598}}); Matrix x = new Matrix( new double[,]{{1, 36, 66}, {1, 37, 68}, {1, 47, 64}, {1, 32, 53}, {1, 1, 101}}); Matrix b = (x.Transpose() * x).Inverse() * x.Transpose() * y; for (int i = 0; i < b.Rows; i++) { Trace.WriteLine("INFO: " + b[i, 0].ToDouble()); } However it does not scale well to the scale of 1000's of equations due to the matrix inversion operation. I can call the R language and use that, however I was hoping there would be a pure .Net solution which will scale to these large sets. Any suggestions? EDIT #1: I have settled using R for the time being. By using statconn (downloaded here) I have found it to be both fast & relatively easy to use this method. • Word 2007 heading numbering incorrect

  I have a large-ish document (1.5MB, 105 pages) with headings provided by formatting styles. Everything was fine until some point in a recent edit and now the first H1 heading is 4 (the second 5 and so on). I've right clicked and selected Set Numbering Value at set it to 1, but it refuses to budge. Any tips? Thanks

• MSBuild 2010 - how to publish web app to a specific location (nant)?

  I'm trying to get MSBuild 2010 to publish a web app to a specific location. I can get it to publish the deployment package to a particular path, but the deployment package then adds it's own path that changes. For example: if I tell it to publish to C:\dev\build\Output\Debug then the actual web files end up at C:\dev\build\Output\Debug\Archive\Content\C_C\code\sawadee\frontend\IPP-FrontEnd\Source\ControllersViews\obj\Debug\Package\PackageTmp And the C_C part of the path changes (not sure how it chooses this part of the path). This means I can't just script a copy from the publish location. • How to reinstall OEM Windows 98 SE?

  I'm trying to install Windows 98 SE on an old PC and it's not going well. I run into this problem. Searching for Boot Record from Floppy..OK Starting Windows 98... TOSHIBA Enhanced-IDE CD/DVD-ROM Device Driver (ATAPI) Version 2.24 (C)Copyright Toshiba Corp. 1995-1999. All rights reserved. Device Name : TOSCD001 Number of units : 1 MSCDEX Version 2.25 Copyright (C) MIcrosoft Corp. 1986-1995. All rights reserved. Drive Z: = Driver TOSCD001 unit 0 TOSHIBA MACHINE Invalid drive specification Path not found - C:\TOOLS\CDROMDRV.SYS Invalid drive specification Invalid drive specification After that last line, it leaves me at a bitmap image displaying instructions to reboot with Ctrl+Alt+Del. It doesn't say why I have to reboot, and it doesn't state any error type, it just want's me to reboot for no apparent reason. After reboot, it just boots up from Floppy again and it cycles through the same thing all over again. The computer has been restored to original specification. Original system recovery "CD-ROM" discs are available and they are not scratched or anything, they are in very good condition. It's a set of 3 CDs, and the first disc labeled "1/3" should be the one holding the OEM version of Windows 98 SE. There is also a boot disk for Windows 98. I'm not sure what the other two discs are for. This computer came with three language support, so those could be holding different language versions or additional OEM discs. But I'm quite sure that the first disc holds the main operating system. BIOS has been set to optimized defaults. Boot priority is as follows; Floppy, IDE-0, CD-ROM. Under Standard CMOS settings, BIOS scans and autoconfigures both the hard drive and the CD/DVD drive. On POST it finds them both, and it finds the DOS bootdisk and starts preparing for installation, as you can see above. So what's this "invalid drive specification" about? Why isn't the installation starting? Updates Update 1 Booting from CD disc 2 In desperation I tried booting from the second CD. Boot order was; Floppy, CD-ROM, IDE-0. It boots normally from floppy disk, just like above, but then returns following. File not found - Z:\3LNGINST\TOOLS\PARTINFO.TXT I accidentally pressed some key on the keyboard, and before I knew it, the following screen showed up. Create Primary DOS Partition Current fixed disk drive: 1 Verifying drive integrity, 16% complete. After completion another screen showed up. Create Primary DOS Partition Current fixed disk drive: 1 Do you wish to use the maximum available size for a Primary DOS Partition and make the partition active (Y/N)?....................? [Y] Verifying drive integrity, 7% complete. I didn't choose Yes, it was set automatically. After completion the computer was automatically rebooted. Then I got a new screen. This is in Norwegian/Swedish/Finnish. Here's the message in Swedish. Hårddisken är inte klar för återställning av programvara. Installationsprogrammet måste skapa nya partitioner (C:, D:, ...). VARNING! ALLT INNEHÅLL PÅ HÅRDDISKEN KOMMER ATT RADERAS! Tryck på en tangent om du vill fortsätta (eller CTRL-C för att avbryta). Let me translate that. Hard drive is not ready for restoring the software. Setup program has to create new partitions (C:, D:, ...). WARNING! ALL CONTENTS ON THE HARD DRIVE WILL BE ERASED! Press any key to continue (or CTRL-C to cancel). I pressed Enter and it started formatting the hard drive. WARNING, ALL DATA ON NON-REMOVABLE DISK DRIVE c: WILL BE LOST! Proceed with Format (Y/N)?y Formatting 14,67.53M 1 percent completed. It automatically sets the "y" option and starts formatting. Rebooting with CD disc 1 After completing this operation it rebooted automatically. I inserted CD disc 1 and there was no issue with "invalid drive specification" anymore. Instead, a bitmap menu was displayed where it asked me to choose a language. And I thought I had it there for a while but it didn't work out. After choosing the language, another menu was displayed asking me to choose a type of recovery (restore pre-installed software OR restore hard drive partitions and pre-installed software). I opted for the second option. Then a data destruction warning showed up where I just pressed 1 to Continue. It did something and then just rebooted and the same formatting screen shows up as before. So something is not right. Am I doing it wrong? I seem to have come past the CD-ROM driver issue at least. But now I'm stuck with this problem... it seems to have something to do with the hard drive. Like... why is is it always trying to format it? Isn't it enough to format it once? By the way, it needs to be formatted as FAT32, right? Windows 98 doesn't support NTFS? I think FDISK should have taken care of this already. I know this is an old hard drive, but I connected to my main computer and it was able to read and write to it without a problem. It does have bad sectors though, but it's expected on an old hard drive like this. Any ideas?.. Update 2 I seem to be repeatedly getting stuck at the format screen where it asks to press any key to continue. So tried to cancel it this time with Ctrl+C. This leaves me at: A:\TOOLS> I can do DIR and CD and I tried to change to Z: drive. I tried running "setup" but there is no such thing. • Breaking the Outlook 2010 e-mail blue quote line for inline responses

  This has to be the most infuriating regression from Outlook 2003 to 2007. It also exists the same in Outlook 2010, as far as I can tell. When you reply to an HTML e-mail message in Outlook, the quoted text has a blue line down the side, and is usually at the bottom of the message: Now in Outlook 2003, when replying to HTML-formatted messages in Outlook, you used to be able to reply inline quite easily, by getting to the point in the quoted message you wanted to reply to, and pressing the 'decrease indent' button: Since Outlook 2007 (and 2010), they replaced the e-mail editor with Microsoft Word. This means the blue line is implemented in a different way; it uses a blue left border. This makes it tougher to break the line up. After much ado, I found a couple of pages that said that you could remove all formatting by pressing ctrl-Q, which would remove the blue line next to the cursor and allow inline replies: OK, not too bad on the face of it. I can live with that. But here's the kick in the teeth; try sending that mail. I'll send it to myself. What do I receive? This: Outlook 2010 reinstated the blue line, where I had removed it, upon my sending the e-mail! For God's sake! The two pages I linked to above don't seem to address Outlook's reinstating of the blue line upon sending. So, does anyone know how you can actually reply inline in Outlook 2010 (or Outlook 2007) e-mail without the blue line being reinstated? Before anyone says, I do not want to convert the message to plaintext, and I do not want to just indent replies and have to manually build the blue line myself. I want something like the Outlook 2003 behaviour; I reply, Outlook creates the blue line, and I can break it up with inline replies, send it, and my inline formatting stays. My hopes aren't high - Microsoft seem to have gone to some trouble to actively prevent inline replies here, for some reason - but I'd appreciate anyone's insights. Cheers!

• BCP task hangs while executing

  Hey guys, We have a HPC node that runs some of our tasks in it. I have a task in my .net project that kicks the bcp utility on the HPC node and the output of the query that I have runs into 9 Mb. When the HPC node runs this task the output of the query is dumped into a file and then after it dumps around 5mb of data it suddenly stops dumping any more data and this happens all the time. (Please note this isnt any data issue as its not crashing on a particular row every time). this may or may not be of significance but I dump the data into a different server which has adequate permissions set. I have run the command with the same query directly on the hpc node and on other comps and it gives the right output. I'm running the bcp command as follows: var processInfo = new ProcessStartInfo("bcp.exe", argument) { RedirectStandardOutput = true, RedirectStandardError = true, CreateNoWindow = true, UseShellExecute = false }; var proc = new Process { StartInfo = processInfo, EnableRaisingEvents = true }; proc.Exited += new EventHandler(bcp_log); proc.Start(); proc.WaitForExit(); So my code actually waits for each bcp task to run before it goes ahead as I call it multiple times. FYI to remind you again it only fails when my o/p exceeds a certain no of bytes in this case approx 5mb. Any help is much appreciated.

  I have a PHP script that does basic encryption of a string through the method below: <?php $key = 'secretkey'; $string = $_GET['str']; if ($_GET['method'] == "decrypt") { $output = rtrim(mcrypt_decrypt(MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_256, md5($key), base64_decode($string), MCRYPT_MODE_CBC, md5(md5($key))), "\0"); } if ($_GET['method'] == "encrypt") { $output= base64_encode(mcrypt_encrypt(MCRYPT_RIJNDAEL_256, md5($key), $string, MCRYPT_MODE_CBC, md5(md5($key)))); } echo $output; ?> An example of a URL to encrypt a string would look like this: Encrypt.php?method=encrypt&str=the quick fox Which would return this as the encrypted string: LCuT/ieVa6cl3/4VtzE+jd9QPT3kvHYYJFqG6tY3P0Q= Now to decrypt the string all you have to do is change the "method" query to "decrypt", like so: Encrypt.php?method=decrypt&str=LCuT/ieVa6cl3/4VtzE+jd9QPT3kvHYYJFqG6tY3P0Q= The only problem is that when that encrypted string is decrypted it returns this: ¬ƒ§rYV}̳5Äš·nßì(ñïX8Þ;b I have narrowed down the problem to the plus sign that is in the encrypted string. PHP's GET method seems to translate a plus sign into a blank space. I have searched this bug and found out that it has already been filed here. I have tried different methods listed on that page and others with no success. The closest I got is by using this: $fixedstring = str_replace(" ", "+", $string); and then using $fixedstring in the encryption methods, the problem is, upon decryption, all blank spaces are converted to plus signs. Any ideas?

• Beginner question - Loop invariants (Specifically Ch.3 of "Accelerated C++")

  Hi - as I said, a complete beginner question here. I'm currently working my way through "Accelerated C++" and just came across this in chapter 3: // invariant: // we have read count grades so far, and // sum is the sum of the first count grades while (cin >> x) { ++count; sum += x; } The authors follow this by explaining that the invariant needs special attention paid to it because when the input is read into the variable x, we will have read count+1 grades and thus the invariant will be untrue. Similarly, when we have incremented the counter, the variable sum will no longer be the sum of the last count grades (in case you hadn't guessed, it's the traditional program for calculating student marks). What I don't understand is why this matters. Surely for just about any other loop, a similar statement would be true? For example, here is the book's first while loop (the output is filled in later): // invariant: we have written r rows so far while (r != rows) { // write a row of output std::cout << std::endl; ++r; } Once we have written the appropriate row of output, surely the invariant is false until we have incremented r, just as in the other example? It's probably something really obvious, anyone could enlighten me as to what makes these two cases different, that'd be great - and thanks in advance for taking the time to answer such a complete novice question. So my question is how to make sure it send out the original Chiness address?? how to prevent urlencode()??? I found take urlencode() away not change anything. (I've change the MAPS_HOST from maps.google.com to maps.google.com.tw.) (I'm sure my key is right, and other English address geocoding are fine.) Thanks!!

• Plot in GNU PLOT

  I have to plot many lines in GNU PLOT.No problem with the X axis. The problem that I am facing is that most of the plotted lines are at yscale [0-0.05] ,few at range 60-70 and rest at 600-700. These numbers correspond to the y axis scale values. But after I plot I can see only 3 sets of lines all messed up. There is no clearity between the lines. Line at 0 and the line at 0.003 look like one single line. If I set yrange[0:0.05], the lines between this range are clearly vissible. But I want all the lines in the same graph. I have heard of breaking axis's and multi plotting..Can they be useful? how to implement them. Anyone pls help me.   I am marshalling (serializing) JAXB beans to output stream. How can I add DOCTYPE declaration and xml processing instructions to ouput? There are some undocumented tricks to add the xml processing instructions and doctype. But what is the preferred or right way to do this?

• How to backup or export PowerStrip display profiles?

  I would like to save two of my saved PowerStrip display profiles. Earlier I set 720x540 resolution and some other settings (frequency, etc.) to another display device usually used in extended mode, which is now NOT connected: But when I go to "Advanced timing options", I see some different settings. I thought I could copy settings with the copy icon , but this way I would copy the wrong ones, not the predefined ones (with the 720x540 resolution): What is the best method to "export" these settings before formatting the hard drive?

• Shell script to decrypt and move files from one directory to another?

  So, I have a directory, and in it are several files. I'm trying to decrypt those files and then move them to another directory. I can't seem to figure out how to set the output filename and move it. So, the directory structure looks like this: /Applications/MAMP/bin/decryptandmove.sh /Applications/MAMP/bin/passtext.txt /Applications/MAMP/bin/encrypted/test1.txt.pgp /Applications/MAMP/bin/encrypted/test2.txt.pgp /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/www/decrypted/ For all of the files found in the encrypted directory, I'm trying to decrypt it and then move them into www/decrypted/. I don't know what the filenames in the encrypted directory will be ahead of time (this script will eventually run via cron), so I wanted to just output the decrypted file with the same filename, but without the pgp. So, the result would be: /Applications/MAMP/bin/decryptandmove.sh /Applications/MAMP/bin/passtext.txt /Applications/MAMP/bin/encrypted/ /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/decrypted/test1.txt.pgp /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/decrypted/test2.txt.pgp So, this is all I have so far, and it doesn't work... FILE and FILENAME are both wrong... I haven't even gotten to the moving part of it yet.... Help? I've written exactly one shell script ever, and it was so simple, a monkey could have done it...
