  Hi, I'd like to know how people decide whether to define a method as static. I'm aware that a method can only be defined as static if it doesn't require access to instance fields. So lets say we have a method that does not access instance fields, do you always define such a method as static, or only if you need to call it statically (without a reference to an instance). System.Drawing.Graphics graphicsObj = new System.Drawing.Graphics(); (I am aware that I could create a private System.Windows.Forms.Panel Obj; and then do CreateGraphics() if I wanted it to work) I tried to find a custom constructor for Graphics, but I couldn't find one. Where did Microsoft define it, or how did it block it?

• Changing UI color in Eclipse

  I'm aware of this topic: I've used it to change most of the editor colors, and that's great. But that wasn't enought, there's still too much white (and I need to change it because it hurts my eyes). I've searched in the preferences (both using Eclipse itself and editing the files) for instances of while (255,255,255) and changed them all. • Restoring and passing data to an already running instance of a .NET application

  The goal is to have an application that runs in the system tray and can either accept user input from its actual GUI (which isn't the actual issue) OR accept command line parameters (that would actually be done via a context menu in windows explorer). Now, while I'm aware that the command line parameters are not exactly possible once the application has started, I need a way to pass data to the already running application instance via some form of handler. I'm thinking maybe define and raise some sort of event? Thanks in advance.

• Can the current date be inserted into output through XSLT v1.0

B) Failing that, what methods could be used to develop this capability in a (crappy) self-written program without requiring the program to be sophisticated and content-aware? Is there any (roughly) universally safe location within a file (for example, around EOF?) where on could one simply append/add psuedorandom data so the resulting hash is different?
