• Weblogic server: Why response sent prior to post completion

  When analyzing traffic with a packet sniffer, we are seeing an http response from a weblogic server prior to the completion of the http post to that server. In this case, the jsp page on the server is basically a static page, no logic to do anything with the contents of the post at this time. But why would the server send the response prior to completion of the post? I found Weblogic documentation about how to configure the server to ignore a denial-of-service attack using Http post. Maybe that is what is happening? No one I know has seen this behaviour before. Maybe some weblogic-savvy person will know what is going on. Thanks

• Sorting related objects in the Django Admin form interface

  I am looking to sort the related objects that show up when editing an object using the admin form. So for example, I would like to take the following object: class Person(models.Model): first_name = models.CharField( ... ) last_name = models.CharField( ... ) hero = models.ForeignKey( 'self', null=True, blank=True ) and edit the first name, last name and hero using the admin interface. I want to sort the objects as they show up in the drop down by last name, first name (ascending). How do I do that? Context I'm using Django v1.1. I started by looking for help in the django admin docs, but didn't find the solution As you can see in the example, the foreign key is pointing to itself, but I expect it would be the same as pointing to a different model object. Bonus points for being able to filter the related objects, too (eg~ only allow selecting a hero with the same first name)

  Hi there, I'm making a Twitter client in Java, and I've came to a problem I don't know how to solve it. How the hell I store open auth for twitter? I mean it doesn't make very sense for a person to allow an application every time he wants to use the client. When I build and analyze my project on XCode, I obtain a 'warning' on the following line: NSString *contactEmail = (NSString *)ABMultiValueCopyValueAtIndex(emailInfo, 0); The message is: Potential leak on object allocated on line ... and stored into contactEmail. Is there any error on that line? UPDATE I get the same 'warning' with this line of code: ABMultiValueRef emailInfo = ABRecordCopyValue(person, kABPersonEmailProperty); But here, I can't do this: [emailInfo release]; I'm developing for iPhone.

• String.Format in javascript?

  Hi this is driving me nuts. I believe I asked this exact same question but I can't find it anymore(I used stackoverflow search, google search, manually searched my posts, searched my code). I wanted something that would be like the C# String.Format where you could do something like string format = String.Format("Hi {0}",name); just for javascript of course and one person gave me a simple answer it was not like a jquery plugin or anything but I think you made some json thing or something and it worked and was simple to use. I for the life of me can't find this post.

• Who owes who money optimisation problem

  Say you have n people, each who owe each other money. In general it should be possible to reduce the amount of transactions that need to take place. i.e. if X owes Y £4 and Y owes X £8, then Y only needs to pay X £4 (1 transaction instead of 2). This becomes harder when X owes Y, but Y owes Z who owes X as well. I can see that you can easily calculate one particular cycle. It helps for me when I think of it as a fully connected graph, with the nodes being the amount each person owes. Problem seems to be NP-complete, but what kind of optimisation algorithm could I make, nevertheless, to reduce the total amount of transactions? Doesn't have to be that efficient, as N is quite small for me.

• Calculating statistics directly from a CSV file

  I have a transaction log file in CSV format that I want use to run statistics. The log has the following fields: date: Time/date stamp salesperson: The username of the person who closed the sale promo: sum total of items in the sale that were promotions. amount: grand total of the sale I'd like to get the following statistics: salesperson: The username of the salesperson being analyzed. minAmount: The smallest grand total of this salesperson's transaction. avgAmount: The mean grand total.. maxAmount: The largest grand total.. minPromo: The smallest promo amount by the salesperson. avgPromo: The mean promo amount... I'm tempted to build a database structure, import this file, write SQL, and pull out the stats. I don't need anything more from this data than these stats. Is there an easier way? I'm hoping some bash script could make this easy.

• How can I pass a hash to a Perl subroutine?

  In one of my main( or primary) routines,I have two or more hashes. I want the subroutine foo() to recieve these possibly-multiple hashes as distinct hashes. Right now I have no preference if they go by value, or as references. I am struggling with this for the last many hours and would appreciate help, so that I dont have to leave perl for php! This table holds one-to-many relationships where each ClientID can be enrolled in many programs. So for each program a client is enrolled in, there is a record in the table. The final result set is therefore returning a row for each row in the ProgramEnrollments table based on these joins. I presume my join is the issue but I don't see the problem. Thoughts/Suggestions? • advanced search with mysql

  I'm creating a search function for my website where the user can put in anything he likes in a textfield. It get's matched against anything (name, title, job, car brand, ... you name it) I initially wrote the query with an INNER JOIN on every table that needed to be searched. SELECT column1, column2, ... FROM person INNER JOIN person_car ON ... INNER JOIN car ... This ended up in a query with 6 or 8 INNER JOINs, and a whole lot WHERE ... LIKE '%searchvalue%' Now this query seems to cause a time'out in MySql, and I even got a warning from my hosting provider that the queries just taking up too many resources. Now obviously I'm doing this very wrong, but I was wondering how the correct approach to these kind of search functions is. Thanks!

  I'm a person that learns best from example. Currently, I'm diving into the field of Web Development after fifteen years of developing desktop apps. I'm still getting used to all the web technologies used for developing modern web sites and everywhere I look, I see cool little UI elements and question how they're implemented. So I thought I'd ask you, the web experts...the wexperts :) What are some straight forward or creative ways you could code this grid-breaking arrow... The basic layout for this page looks like... What would the html/css code look like? Would you split the image into multiple images or could you use a single image? I'm sure this is a really simple concept and it completely boggles me. • lexers / parsers for (un) structured text documents

  There are lots of parsers and lexers for scripts (i.e. structured computer languages). But I'm looking for one which can break a (almost) non-structured text document into larger sections e.g. chapters, paragraphs, etc. It's relatively easy for a person to identify them: where the Table of Contents, acknowledgements, or where the main body starts and it is possible to build rule based systems to identify some of these (such as paragraphs). I don't expect it to be perfect, but does any one know of such a broad 'block based' lexer / parser? Or could you point me in the direction of literature which may help?

  I am trying to switch my space invaders game to a first person view, i.e. a view of the world from the ship. I am getting a bit confused about what point I should be looking at. I am currently using these parameters in gluLookAt: GL11.glMatrixMode(GL11.GL_MODELVIEW); GL11.glLoadIdentity(); GLU.gluLookAt(ship3dPos.x, ship3dPos.y, ship3dPos.z,400.0f, 600.0f,-50.0f, 0.0f, 1.0f,-0.0f); Where ship3dPos is a Vector3f. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to set parameters 4,5 and 6 to, to get a view of the whole world(window is 800/600). I want to have a view of say 100.0 wide from the ships perspective, with this view moving along the x-axis as the player moves the ship. Thanks

  My web service app on my Windows XP box is trying to log in to my sql server 2005 database on the same box. The machine is part of a domain. I am logged in in the domain and I am an admin on my machine. I am using Windows Authentication in my connection string as in "Server=myServerAddress;Database=myDataBase;Trusted_Connection=True". SQLServer is configured for both types of authentication (mixed mode) and accepts remote connections and accepts tcp and named pipes protocols. Integrated authentication is enabled in IIS and with and without anonymous access. 'Everyone' has access to computer from network setting in local security settings. ASPNET is a user in the sql server and has access to the daatabase. user is mapped to the login. The app works fine for other developers which means the app shouldn't be changed (It's not new code). So it seems it's my machine which has an issue. I am getting the error "Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection" Note the blank user name. Why am I getting this error when both the app and database are on my machine? I can use SQL Server authentication but don't want to. I can connect to the database using SSMS and my Windows credentials. It might be related to setspn, kerberos, delegation, AD. I am not sure what further checks to make?

• curl issue with URL not connecting

  So I'm not a very good network person so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to figuring out what I am doing wrong. I am trying to use curl to post a SOAP message. I am running the following: curl -d "string of xml message" -H "Content-Type:text/xml; charset=utf-8" ":/" This results in a 'Connection refused' message. So I try pinging ip by itself...no problems. Then I think maybe I need http://:/ so I tried pinging http:// and I get: unknown host http:// yet if I ping the IP by itself I get no issues. Any thoughts on where to start debugging this issue?

  How do YOU debug a Scala program? I mean YOU as in the person posting the Answer :) Please answer only from personal experience, not from stuff you've heard or read on the Internet. You should not believe everything you read on the Internet, especially tales of complex open-source software configurations that actually work :-) The are many Java tools which claim to support Scala in some way or another, but I have so far struck out in trying to get any one of them to actually let me set a breakpoint in Scala code and step through it. These are big, major open-source IDEs I'm talking about here. The main problem in getting a debugger to work seems to be the "version hell" with fast-changing IDEs, Plug-Ins, JDKs, and the Scala language itself. Hence the second part of my question, which is really the most important part: What is the exact version number of the IDE, Plug-In, JDK, Scala, and even Operating System, that you are successfully using? • How do I make a project built into a downloadable Cd?

  hi all I just got finished making my first project in visual studio 2008. what I want to do is put it on a CD and let another person run it. I went to the clean and build and publish and all went well. When I took it to my friends house to put it on her computer..i never got a "download" and "install" screen. We were able to see it and use it on her computer (which is good cuz she doesnt have Visual on her machine) but I wanted her to be able to use it without keeping the CD in the drive. Is there some setup or something I have to do to make my program download and install? The whole shibang was all done with starting a new windows application..and then just adding windows forms to the original. Thanks :)

• jQuery plugin and prototype class

  Hi I am converting some prototype javascript to jQuery javascript. In prototype we can do Class.create to create a class. However, jQuery doesn't provide this. So I was thinking to rewrite the class into a jQuery plugin. Is this the best practice? My concern is that if I do all for the class, then I will add a lot of things to jQuery object. The other alternative is to use some extra lines of codes I found http://ejohn.org/blog/simple-javascript-inheritance/#postcomment. • Malware on a client's website - Ideas?

  We recently got a call from one of our clients, complaining that their site has some "strange looking code" at the bottom of the page. We checked out the source code, and discovered that about 800 bytes of malicious javascript code had been appended to the templates/master file, after the </html> tag. I won't post said code because it looked particularly nasty. As far as I can tell, there would be no way for this file to be edited in any way, unless someone had direct access to the server and/or FTP login details. The actual file itself has been modified, so that rules out any kind of SQL attack. Besides a person physically gaining credentials and hand-modifying this file, would there be any other logical explaination for what happened? Has anyone else had experience with something like this happening?

• Trouble using 'eval' to define a toplevel function when called from within an object.

  I've written (in JavaScript) an interactive read-eval-print-loop that is encapsulated within an object. However, I recently noticed that toplevel function definitions specified to the interpreter do not appear to be 'remembered' by the interpreter. After some diagnostic work, I've reduced the core problem to this: var evaler = { eval: function (str) { return eval(str); }, }; eval("function t1() { return 1; }"); // GOOD evaler.eval("function t2() { return 2; }"); // FAIL After running this script, I have a definition for t1, and no defintion for t2. The act of calling eval from within evaler is sufficiently different from the toplevel call that the global definition does not get recorded. What does happen is that the call to evaler.eval returns a function object, so I'm presuming that t2 is being defined and stored in some other set of bindings that I don't have access to. (It's not defined as a member in evaler.) Is there any easy fix for this? I've tried all sorts of fixes, and haven't stumbled upon one that works. (Most of what I've done has centered around putting the call to eval in an anonymous function, and altering the way that's called, chainging __parent__, etc.) Any thoughts on how to fix this?

• I can't understand GroupJoin where i will need it in database relationships.

  Hello Everybody I am thinking 5-6 hours to understand something about GroupJoin. I am talking about query with linq for Database tables.I understand what Join and GroupJoin does but I really couldn't understand where i will need it.I feel that Join does all what i will need but if there is something which Join can't without GroupJoin so i feel that situation is meaningless or useless. For example: Persons table in relation with Phones and Phones table hold foreign keys of Persons and one person can have one more phone number.If we want to brings all persons who has phone numbers and who hasn't too so we will need GroupJOin but what for we will need this query ? Can u give me good reason , example or explenation for using GroupJoin ?
