  • Why does Ordered[A] use a compare method instead of reusing compareTo?

What is the huge benefit I'm missing here? If they had just used compareTo I could just had replaced Comparable with Ordered in my code and be done.

  • How to implement a UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight to a UIScrollView using Objective C in iPhone SD

    Hello, I'm working on multiple applications for my school. I just need this last bit of code and I was wondering how I could implement a UIViewAutoresizingFlexibleHeight into the app for each textfield. What this does is it makes the textfield pop above the keyboard, rather than over lapping it. I have already implemented a UIScrollView, so if someone on here could be pretty descriptive, or post a link to a video, that would be well appreciated. I am new to coding. Thanks very much!!!!

    How do I get the number of packages transmitted per TCP connection? I am using Java, but i know I will have to fetch the number from the underlying OS, so this quastion applies to Linux and Windows operating systems and will have different answers for each of them, I assume. I need this information to profile the network load of an application which seems to send too many small packages by flushing the socket streams too often.

    I was looking at Ch from SofIntegration and it looks pretty interesting as a possible teaching tool. It would allow the you to let someone learning to program "play" while preparing them to write full fledged C programs.     JavaScript is known as a language with many weird features. This probably makes it a good language to write extremely obfuscated and hard to understand code in (in the style of The International Obfuscated C Code Contest). What would be your best example of obfuscated JavaScript code (5 lines maximum)? I am thinking that it should be very hard to understand, but also have an element of style or humor in it. And for clarity: using obfuscation tools is not the point, of course. Hand crafting only!

  • What do I need to learn to make a website that can make a text file?

    I want to make a website, but all I know is basic HTML and CSS. On this website, I want the user to input in multiple text fields (sort of like they take a quiz) and then the program will make a text file based on the user input which the user can download. I want it to work backwards, too, so that the text file is the input. What do I need to learn to make a website to do this? Will javascript do the trick? I'm a beginning to intermediate programmer, mainly with java and I've learned some C# recently. I thought I could learn ASP.Net for this, but it turns out my hosting doesn't support it.

  • Right programing language for developing application for Mac

    I'm planing to buy Mac. I would like to be able to develop GUI aplication for Mac as well. Currently I develop in C# using VisualStudio as IDE. I also know Java and I'm familiar with NetBeans IDE. Application created in both of this languages can run on Mac (as can NetBeans IDE) but I was told that neither C# nor Java is recomended for MacOS X development. So what language is recomended for MacOS X development ? I guess there is some recomodation from Apple for the developers ? I would prefer Object-oriented easy-to-use programing language (nothing like C) with good IDE that supports GUI creating (GUI designer). Thank you for answers
