  • EntityFramework EntityState and databinding along with INotifyPropertyChanged

    Hello, all! I have a WPF view that displays a Shipment entity. I have a textblock that contains an asterisk which will alert a user that the record is changed but unsaved. I originally hoped to bind the visibility of this (with converter) to the Shipment.EntityState property. If value = EntityState.Modified Then Return Visibility.Visible Else Return Visibility.Collapsed End If The property gets updated just fine, but the view is ignorant of the change. What I need to know is, how can I get the UI to receive notification of the property change. If this cannot be done, is there a good way of writing my own IsDirty property that handles editing retractions (i.e. if I change the value of a property, then change it back to it's original it does not get counted as an edit, and state remains Unchanged). Any help, as always, will be greatly appreciated. Cory

  • WPF: Changing config file user settings at runtime?

    Hey I'm trying to change some config file user settings values in my WPF application, but its only working partly. The value is changed correctly and the program runs fine with the value. I can even restart the program and the value is still the one i changed it to. The problem is that when i open the .exe.config file the value is still the old value. Im using this code to change the value: Properties.Settings.Default.ProjectNumber = varTestExample; Properties.Settings.Default.Save(); Where does this save code save the changes and how/where does the program read the value after i have run this code? If i run a clean version of the program the ProjectNumber value is correctly taken from the .exe.config file and if i change the value in the config file it is also change when i run the program. But as soon as i run the above code the program is not reading the value from the config file. Why?

    Hello there, I have 5 JButtons: b1, b2, b3, b4, b5. By default, their color is gray. When I click on any button, the background of that button changes to white. When I click another button, I want that previous clicked button to change its background to gray, and this newly clicked button to change its background to white.   • Using jQuery and AJAX works for all functions except one, really bizarre issue (from my perspective)

    I am working on a classic asp form that has a number of dropdowns. Three of these are cascading, i.e. they rely in the previous dropdown. For almost everything this code works fine, one of them however is not playing nice. To start off I have a script tag with the following in it: $(document).ready(function () { $("#AcademicLevel").change(getList); $("#CourseDeliveryTime").change(updateLocation); $("#ProgramType").change(updateEntryTerm); }); This works just fine for the first two elements of the form, AcademicLevel and CourseDeliveryTime, the third however does not take effect however. If I use Firebug's Console and run that same line of code, $("#ProgramType").change(updateEntryTerm);, it starts to work, sort of. What happens is what confuses me. If the function it is pointing to, updateEntryTerm, has an alert() call in it, it works. If the alert is commented out, it does not work. Visual studio will not add references. Question Is there a way to change this behaviour for Visual Basic?

  • MPMusicPlayerController stops sending notifications

    I have a MPMusicPlayerController playing the entire iPod library and I'm subscribed to the notifications when tracks change etc. This is all working correctly When the end of the playlist is reached, MPMusicPlayerController sends a change of state notification and stops. When I re-start the player, music begins to play again but MPMusicPlayerController no longer sends notifications when tracks change, etc. Thoughts?

    I am not even sure how to ask this question. I want something that is like the wxPython event system, but a bit different. I'll try to explain. When there is a certain change in my program (a "tree change", never mind what that is,) I want to send a signal to all the widgets in my program, notifying them that a "tree change" has occurred, and they should change their display in response. How do I do this? It sounds a little bit like wxPython events, but not really, since events don't spread to all widgets, as far as I know. What would be a good way to do this?

I used acts_as_authentic do |c| c.transition_from_restful_authentication = true end and changed the password and salt field to 128 characters.But, if I create a new user crypted password length is 40 characters length(Its not changing to 128 as in authlogic).     I'm writing an app that offloads some heavy drawing into an EAGLView, and it does some lightweight stuff in UIKit on top. It seems that the GL render during an orientation change is cached somewhere, and I can't figure out how to get access to it. Specifically: After an orientation change, calling glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT) isn't enough to clear the GL display (drawing is cached somewhere?) How can I clear this cache? After an orientation change, glReadPixel() can no longer access pixels drawn before the orientation change. How can I get access to where this is stored?

  • JSON to Persistent Data Store (CoreData, etc.)

    All of the data on my application is pulled through an API via JSON. The nature of a good percentage of this data is that it doesn't change very often. So to go and make JSON requests to get a list of data that doesn't change much didn't seem all that appealing. I'm looking for the most sensible option to have this JSON saved onto the iPhone in some sort of persistent data store. Obviously one plus of persisting the data would be to provide it when the phone can't access the API. I've looked at a few examples of having JSON and CoreData interact, for example, but it seems that they only describe transforming NSManagedObjects into JSON. If I can transform JSON into CoreData, my only problem would be being able to change that data when the data from the API does change. (Or, maybe this is all just silly.)

    Hi. I'm trying to use a script to control my power options since XP doesn't give you an intuitive way to change CPU Frequency options. If I run the same commands directly into a cmd.exe prompt, they work. It's very strange, but nothing works after the initial powercfg query. I feel like I'm missing something incredibly obvious. How can I get the above script to run correctly?

    Hello, I have several forms that are localized to multiple languages. If I do a change on one form (for example, changing the size of a textbox) the change is done only on the localized version of the Form that I have currently selected. Is there a way of extending the change I've done the different localized versions of the same Form to avoid having to go one by one doing the same change by hand? Thanks in advance for your help. EDIT: I'm talking about different forms when the real thign is that you have one form and several resources. The point is that at the end is just like if you have different forms for each locale because the form is built with the data from the resource. The problem is still the same because the edits done on the form are stored at one resource file and I have to put by hand those edits in all the resources.

The thing I would like to do is: I want to have a version number of the application ex. 0.0.120 I want to see this version number only in the About box or similar This version number should change everityme I hit debug or release. ex. my version was 0.0.120, after I hit debug in the FlexBuilder, the versionNumber should change to 0.0.121, but If I press Release Build, then the version should change to 0.1.0 The first number changes only when I manually change it Don't know how is this possible but if you have a tip, let me know. I want to display information about What ( with before and after values), When, Where and Who of any change in AD. I am going to implement this by one of the following way 1. Change Notification Control 2. DirSync Control Both of these method give us the attribute that are changed and we can compare new values with some dump in SQL Server to get old values. My problem is how can I find “Who” has made this change. I have tried but there is no attribute “LastModifiedBy” in active directory.
