  • Sorting datatable column by day name

    Hi, I have a datatable with day name column. I want to sort this column by day name e.g. if I have [Friday, Monday,Sunday] sorting should return [Monday ,Friday, Sunday] (ascending) and [Sunday,Friday, Monday] (descending). I tried to use custom sorting but I wasn't able to represent my custom order. Do you have ideas ? Thanks

  • jQuery validation plugin for two fields

    I am using the Jquery Validation plug-in, however i need to add a "custom rule", i have 2 date fields and i need to ensure that the end date is not less than the start date. My problem is how to pass the two fields in as elements. As i understand u set up a custom function something like this : function customValidationMethod(value, element, params){ } But can't see how i could use it with two fields, if anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

  • What method can I override in GridViewHeaderRowPresenter to prevent it from drawing some columns?

    The thing is that I created a custom column that inherits from GridViewColumn, and I added a Visibility dependency property to it. Now I want to create a custom GridViewHeaderRowPresenter, that does not draw the columns when their visibility is hidden or collapsed, but other than the OnRender() method, I can't think of anything else. Thanks. Btw, the reason I'm doing this is because removing or adding columns doesn't work like we would expect it (some specs for our app) and I believe what I'm trying to do here would work if pulled out correctly.

  • mvc create my own html helper, how can i access httpcontext?

    Hi, I've come across two recommendations for creating custom html helpers: either extend an existing one, or write your own class. I'd prefer to keep my custom code separated, it seems a bit sloppy to extend helpers for a decent-size application. But the benefit I see in extending is that 'This HtmlHelper helper' is passed as a parameter, through which I can get ViewContext.HtmlContext. My question is, how can I roll my own helper class and still have ViewContext.HtmlContext available to me? Thanks!

    I have a table (EmployeeID,EmployeeName,ManagerID) How can I create a sqldatasource to include the ManagerName from the EmployeeName given EmployeeID = ManagerID? In my gridview after dragging a dropdownlist what bindings should I do to display the managerName? Is it possible to use it without writing custom select,insert,delete,update?   • Multiset without Compare?

    I want to use multiset to count some custom defined keys. The keys are not comparable numerically, comparing two keys does not mean anything, but their equality can be checked. I see that multiset template wants a Compare to order the multiset. The order is not important to me, only the counts are important. If I omit Compare completely what happens? Does multiset work without any problems for my custom keys?

    I'm trying to load up xml into an XmlDocument, but it doesn't recognize the encoded '&eacute' and throws an error 'An error occurred while parsing Entity Name'. Now I can add a custom entity set in a DTD of my xml, so the XmlDocument loads properly. But what I'm hoping is that I can reference a url that has a common set of these ISO Latin encoded characters. Is this possible, or do I need to inject a custom list of DTD sets?

    Quick Question Is it possible to have more than 1 config file in a windows service? Or is there some way I can merge them at run time? Scenario Currently I have two config files containing the below contents. After I build and install my Windows Service, I can't get my custom XML Parser class to read the content because it keeps pointing to the wrong config file, even though I am using a few lines of code to ensure it gets the right name of the config file I need to access. ALSO When I navigate to the folder in which the service is installed, there is only sign of the normal APP.Config file, and no sign of the custom config file. (I have even set the normal ones properties to "Do Not Copy" and the custom ones properties to "Copy Always").     I have a custom model class with an NSMutableData ivar that will be accessed by custom NSOperation subclasses (using an NSOperationQueue). I think I can guarantee thread-safe access to the ivar from multiple NSOperations by using dependencies, and I can guarantee that I don't access the ivar from other code (say my main app thread) by waiting until the Q has finished all operations. Should I use a nonatomic property specification, or leave it atomic? Is there a significant impact on performance?

    if i use the custom css generator on their webpage i can have a wider width than 960? so isnt the name 960 kind of misleading? and some persons say that you cant have a flexible grid system (that changes with your browser size) with 960. but you can download a fluid version from the custom css generator. so apparently they didnt know what they were talking about? would be great if someone could straight these things out.

  • Many to many self join through junction table

    I have an EF model that can self-reference through an intermediary class to define a parent/child relationship. I know how to do a pure many-to-many relationship using the Map command, but for some reason going through this intermediary class is causing problems with my mappings. The intermediary class provides additional properties for the relationship. See the classes, modelBinder logic and error below: public class Equipment { [Key] public int EquipmentId { get; set; } public virtual List<ChildRecord> Parents { get; set; } public virtual List<ChildRecord> Children { get; set; } } public class ChildRecord { [Key] public int ChildId { get; set; } [Required] public int Quantity { get; set; } [Required] public Equipment Parent { get; set; } [Required] public Equipment Child { get; set; } } I've tried building the mappings in both directions, though I only keep one set in at a time: modelBuilder.Entity<ChildRecord>() .HasRequired(x => x.Parent) .WithMany(x => x.Children ) .WillCascadeOnDelete(false); modelBuilder.Entity<ChildRecord>() .HasRequired(x => x.Child) .WithMany(x => x.Parents) .WillCascadeOnDelete(false); OR modelBuilder.Entity<Equipment>() .HasMany(x => x.Parents) .WithRequired(x => x.Child) .WillCascadeOnDelete(false); modelBuilder.Entity<Equipment>() .HasMany(x => x.Children) .WithRequired(x => x.Parent) .WillCascadeOnDelete(false); Regardless of which set I use, I get the error: The foreign key component 'Child' is not a declared property on type 'ChildRecord'. Verify that it has not been explicitly excluded from the model and that it is a valid primitive property. when I try do deploy my ef model to the database. If I build it without the modelBinder logic in place then I get two ID columns for Child and two ID columns for Parent in my ChildRecord table. This makes sense since it tries to auto create the navigation properties from Equipment and doesn't know that there are already properties in ChildRecord to fulfill this need. I tried using Data Annotations on the class, and no modelBuilder code, this failed with the same error as above: [Required] [ForeignKey("EquipmentId")] public Equipment Parent { get; set; } [Required] [ForeignKey("EquipmentId")] public Equipment Child { get; set; } AND [InverseProperty("Child")] public virtual List<ChildRecord> Parents { get; set; } [InverseProperty("Parent")] public virtual List<ChildRecord> Children { get; set; } I've looked at various other answers around the internet/SO, and the common difference seems to be that I am self joining where as all the answers I can find are for two different types. I want to change the color or font or background color(it doesn't matter just that they look different from the other displayed properties) of some property. I can do with writing custom editor but I was wondering If an easier method exists? If I use custom editor then how do i change the editor of built-in types like bool, int etc. Thanks
