  • "Simple" Text replace function

    - by YourMomzThaBomb
    I have a string which is basically a list of "words" delimited by commas. These "words" can be pretty much any character e.g. "Bart Simpson, Ex-girlfriend, dude, radical" I'm trying to use javascript, jQuery, whatever i can to replace a word based on a search string with nothing (in essence, removing the word from the list). For example, the function is defined as such: function removeWord(myString, wordToReplace) {...}; So, passing the string listed above as myString and passing "dude" as wordToReplace would return the string "Bart Simpson, Ex-girlfriend, radical" Here's the line of code I was tinkering around with...please help me figure out what's wrong with it or some alternative (better) solution:$myString.val($myString.val().replace(/wordToReplace\, /, ""));

  • My MS Access control displays no text for appended items following an append query

    - by Zaid
    The control in question is part of a datasheet-style subform that feeds off a multi-field combo-box. The control is bound to the first field of the combo box, an ID field which is hidden from view (column width set to zero). Consequently, the second field (Code) is displayed in the control when an item is selected from the combo box. I'm using a form button action to append values to this datasheet. It seems that because I need to INSERT ID values in, the control is unable to display the corresponding Code value. Nothing is visible, unless I go manually into the combo box and select an item from it. How can I get the control to display the Code value?

  • Login to website using PHP and get text from page

    - by Anthony Garand
    I am trying to login to a website and grab content from a page you must be authenticated to see. I have done some research and have seen some examples using both cURL and stream_context_create but I cannot get either way to work. I have the url for the page to login to, and the page that contains the data I need to get. Your help is much appreciated! Here's what I'm working with: <?php $pages = array('home' => 'https://www.53.com/wps/portal/personal', 'login' => 'https://www.53.com/wps/portal/personal', 'data' => 'https://www.53.com/servlet/efsonline/index.html?Messages.SortedBy=DATE,REVERSE'); $ch = curl_init(); //Set options for curl session $options = array(CURLOPT_USERAGENT => 'Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)', CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER => FALSE, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST => 2, CURLOPT_HEADER => TRUE, //CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER => TRUE, CURLOPT_COOKIEFILE => 'cookie.txt', CURLOPT_COOKIEJAR => 'cookies.txt'); //Hit home page for session cookie $options[CURLOPT_URL] = $pages['home']; curl_setopt_array($ch, $options); curl_exec($ch); //Login $options[CURLOPT_URL] = $pages['login']; $options[CURLOPT_POST] = TRUE; $options[CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS] = 'uid-input=xxx&pw=xxx'; $options[CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION] = FALSE; curl_setopt_array($ch, $options); curl_exec($ch); //Hit data page $options[CURLOPT_URL] = $pages['data']; curl_setopt_array($ch, $options); $data = curl_exec($ch); //Output data echo $data; //Close curl session curl_close($ch); ?> Cheers, Anthony

  • case-insensitive regexp match on non-english text in perl cgi script

    - by jonny
    ok. I have list of catalog paths and need to filter out some of them. Match pattern comes in non-Unicode encoding. Tried following: require 5.004; use POSIX qw(locale_h); my $old_locale = setlocale(LC_ALL); setlocale(LC_ALL, "ru_RU.cp1251"); @{$data -> {doc_folder_rights}} = grep { $_->{doc_folder} =~/$_REQUEST{q}/i; # catalog path pattern in $_REQUEST{q} } @{$data -> {doc_folder_rights}}; setlocale(LC_ALL, $old_locale); What I need is case-insensitive regexp pattern matching when pattern contains russsian letters.

  • R heatmaps - non-text labels?

    - by Carl
    I am making a heatmap plot; currently the axes are labeled by index number. However, the index number corresponds to a series of 1/0s, which my group typically represents with a row of filled(1) or unfilled(0) boxes (think chessboard, though not strictly alternating colors). I'd like to use that representation instead of the index numbers. Any suggestions? I've considered simply making the labels as a plot, and positioning that adjacent to the heatmap, but I'm not finding a convenient way to do that either. I will also appreciate answers that are more generically applicable. edit - current code: map <- data.matrix(read.csv("./heatmap.out", header=F, sep=" ")) # ...some clean-up p<-heatmap(map, Rowv=NA, Colv=NA, col=grey(10:0 / 10)) this simply labels the heatmap rows/cols by index number. heatmap.out is raw numeric data.

  • Javascript replace last occurence of text in a string

    - by Ruth
    Hi all see my code snippet below: var list = ['one', 'two', 'three', 'four']; var str = 'one two, one three, one four, one]; for ( var i = 0; i < list.length; i++) { if (str.endsWith(list[i]) { str = str.replace(list[i], 'finsih') } } I want to replace the last occurence of the word one with the word finish in the string, what I have will not work because the replace method will only replace the first occurence of it. Does anyone know how I can amend that snippet so that it only replaces the last instance of 'one' Thank you Ruth

  • RegEx - Take all numeric characters following a text character

    - by Simon
    Given a string in the format: XXX999999v99 (where X is any alpha character and v is any numeric character and v is a literal v character) how can I get a regex to match the numeric characters following the v? So far I've got 'v\d\d' which includes the v but ideally I'd like just the numeric part. As an aside does anyone know of a tool in which you can specify a string to match and have the regex generated? Modifying an existing regex is one thing but I find starting from scratch painful! Edit: Re-reading this question I realise it reads like a homework assignment! However I can assure you it's not, the strings I'm trying to match represent product versions appended to product codes. The current code uses all sorts of substring expressions to retrieve the version part.

  • How to disable Excel's auto recognition of numbers and text

    - by Yin Zhu
    I used Python to generate a CSV file. But when I open it in Excel, Excel will auto recognize a string into a number if it could be converted. e.g.33E105, which is actually an ID, not a number. How to disable this in Excel while opening a CSV file? Or I need to resort to a excel-python library to output a excel file and specify the format myself? Thanks!

  • HTML text-area editor for code that traps TAB key

    - by Cristi Cotovan
    Hello, I have looked for months now, for JavaScript-based HTML editor I can embed onto my web pages to replace a TEXTAREA, but to enable me to edit CODE in a friendly, closer to a real editor, way. All editors I've tried (RadEditor from Telerik, FCKEditor, TinyMCE, etc etc), do not trap the TAB key, very useful when editing HTML code onto a page, to help format the code properly. I'm not talking about syntax highlighting, as that would be an awesome plus. But I am mainly wondering if there is such an editor. I'd appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

    I need to read binary PGM image files. Its format: P5 # comments nrows ncolumns max-value binary values start at this line. (totally nrows*ncolumns bytes/unsigned char) I know how to do it in C or C++ using FILE handler by reading several lines first and read the binary block. But don't know how to do it in .Net.
