  • Morphing from an image to a shape in Silverlight 3

    Hi, I have a requirement to morph from an image (png) to a shape (polygon) in Silverlight 3 as an effect, but of course there is no built in transition or method to do this.     I am about to create a new developer PC image for developing WPF applications using VS2010, WCF, SQL2008 and SharePoint2010. What OS should I opt for? Windows 7? Windows Server 2008 R2? I'd have thought Windows 7 to make sure that I have a similar experience during development as an end user, however I can't install SharePoint on a client OS and so thought about Windows Server 2008 R2 to help with the SharePoint development process. Thoughts?

    A client wants to have an image that takes up entire screen, on mouse over the menu would appear. The problem is the height vertical alignment for various screen sizes....What would be the most common sleek looking solution to this issue? Let's assume that the most common screen resolution for the site's audience is 1024x768 but it should look good on smaller resolutions too (specifically for laptops). Thanks!

    The following code works when running the NetBeans IDE. this.getFrame().setIconImage(Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage("PlagiaLyzerIcon.png")); However, once it was built into Jar file, the icon was gone. Anyone has idea what's the problem? I realized I've to put the icon image on the root directory, however, after compiling into JAR, the icon gone. Thanks for any help..

    I've been asked to add Google Earth images to a desktop app (civil engineering modelling app) I was under the impression that Google's license didn't allow you to do this. Are there any other easily accessible, and similarly high resolution, image sources anyone can recommend (Blue Marble, terraserver) ? As a bonus, any library that lets me use coordinates in a range of local map datums and convert them to Lat/Long without me having to incorporate the whole of CGAL?
