  • Facebook Connect on iPhone question

    - by TheGambler
When you use facebook connect on the iPhone do you have to use the supplied login button and login screen built into the framework? The reason I ask is because I'm also using twitter and I would like to have the same user experience when they log in to user as they have when they log in to facebook. So I can either replicate the login screen facebook connect uses for twitter or just not use the facebook connect login screen all together.

  • getElementById not a function (greasemonkey)

    - by Moose
I'm running GM_xmlhttpRequest and storing the responseText into a newly created HTML element: var responseHTML = document.createElement('HTML'); onload: function() { responseHTML.innerHTML = response.responseText; } And then I am trying to find an element in responseHTML. console.log(responseHTML.getElementsByTagName('div')); console.log(responseHTML.getElementById('result_0')); The first works fine, but not the second. Any ideas?

  • logging in continouous loop

    - by Mikkel Jans
What would be a good way to create logs (with python logging module) inside a constant running loop, without producing a large amount of useless log-files? An example would be a loop that constant list a folder, and does some action when it sees a file of a specific type. I want to log that no files were found, or files were found but of a wrong type, without logging that same line constantly for each folder check, as it might run many times a second.

  • Have PL/SQL Outputs in Real Time.

    - by martilyo
Is it possible to have Outputs from PL/SQL in real time? I have a pretty huge package that runs for more than an hour and I'd like to see where the package is at a particular time. Anyways, I currently do this with a log table, which gets filled up with hundreds of log descriptions per run, I'm just curious if this is possible. Thanks!

  • How can I debug expect_before behaviour

    - by itj
I am relatively new to TCL / expect and mostly modifying existing code. expect_before doesn't seem to do what I expect (which is fine) but I can't work out how to debug it. I have used -d option and am now using exp_internal -f "argh.log" 1 to create a log file, but it isn't helping me. expect_before -info seems useful, but I am not able to grab / display the output (I did say I was new to TCL)

  • When writing a form submit to a file, strip line breaks and commas

    - by bccarlso
I have a form with a textarea in it. I log the results to a text file on the server, but I would like to strip out any line breaks a user would put in the textarea, as well as any commas that would interfere with importing the comma-delimited log text file into Excel or something for later use. I think this has to do with regex, but I'm no expert and could use some help. Or maybe there is an easy PHP function that will do it?

  • Best practice to include log4Net external config file in ASP.NET

    - by Martin Buberl
I have seen at least two ways to include an external log4net config file in an ASP.NET web application: Having the following attribute in your AssemblyInfo.cs file: [assembly: log4net.Config.XmlConfigurator(ConfigFile = "Log.config", Watch = true)] Calling the XmlConfigurator in the Global.asax.cs: protected void Application_Start() { XmlConfigurator.Configure(new FileInfo("Log.config")); } What would be the best practice to do it?

  • SOA principals - should a service call another service?

    - by silves89
I'm new to SOA (and to Stack Overflow too...) Some services and web applications we are developing must all log audit information. We are considering an audit service for this. Is there any SOA governing principal that should make me think twice about having one of the services call the audit service to log information? A service-to-service call in other words?

What i need is for the application to redirect the user to the login page if the user session has expired. Please tell me as to what should be my approach to tackle this requirement. Problem Statement: If the user leaves the system for more than n minutes in any given log-in instance, the system should automatically log them off.

  • Android App Crashes On Second Run

    - by user1091286
My app runs fine on first run. On the Menu I added two choices options and quit. options which set up a new intent who goes to a PreferenceActivity and quit which simply call: "android.os.Process.killProcess(android.os.Process.myPid());" On the second time I run my app (after I quit from inside the emulator) it crashes.. Ideas? the menu is called by the foolowing code: @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.menu , menu); return true; } - @Override public boolean onOptionsItemSelected(MenuItem item) { // Set up a new intent between the updater service and the main screen Intent options = new Intent(this, OptionsScreenActivity.class); // Switch case on the options switch (item.getItemId()) { case R.id.options: startActivity(options); return true; case R.id.quit: android.os.Process.killProcess(android.os.Process.myPid()); return true; • coffee scrip layzy function implementation

I would like to something like this in JavaScript var init = function () { // do some stuff once var once = true // overwrite the function init = function () { console.log(once) } } CoffeeScript adds another local var init to the initial init so the second init doesn't overwrite the first one var init = function () { var init //automatically declared by coffeescript // do some stuff once var once = true // overwrite the function init = function () { console.log(once) } } Some tips for solutions / workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

  • Better way to ignore exception type: multiple catch block vs. type querying

    - by HuBeZa
There are situations that we like to ignore a specific exception type (commonly ObjectDisposedException). It can be achieved with those two methods: try { // code that throws error here: } catch (SpecificException) { /*ignore this*/ } catch (Exception ex) { // Handle exception, write to log... } or try { // code that throws error here: } catch (Exception ex) { if (ex is SpecificException) { /*ignore this*/ } else { // Handle exception, write to log... } } What are the pros and cons of this two methods (regarding performance, readability, etc.)?

  • How to grep in the git history?

I have deleted a file or some code in a file sometime in the past. Can I grep in the content (not in the commit messages)? A very poor solution is to grep the log: git log -p | grep However this doesn't return the commit hash straight away. I played around with "git grep" to no avail.

  • How can I specify a relative path in a Python logging config file?

    - by ClaudioA
I've the following file to config logging: [loggers] keys=root [handlers] keys = root [formatters] keys = generic # Loggers [logger_root] level = DEBUG handlers = root # Handlers [handler_root] class = handlers.RotatingFileHandler args = ("test.log", "maxBytes=1*1024*1024", "backupCount=10") level = NOTSET formatter = generic # Formatters [formatter_generic] format = %(asctime)s,%(msecs)03d %(levelname)-5.5s [%(name)s] %(message)s datefmt = %Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S In Development this works great, but when I deploy the application test.log is trying to be written in a path in which I don't have the necessary permission. So my question is, How can I do to specify a relative path in this configuration file.

  • Extracting user-friendly exception details in Java

I've got a J2EE web application that I'm working on and when an exception occurs, I'd like to get some basic details about the exception and log it. The message that I'm logging should be pretty basic, something that might mean something to the people running the web server(s). Would using e.getMessage() be the best thing to log? Thanks.
