    In trying to follow the Ubuntu guide for postfix and mailman, I do not understand these directions: This build of mailman runs as list. It must have permission to read /etc/aliases and read and write /var/lib/mailman/data/aliases.   • Including non-standard C headers in C++

    I needed to include a few c headers ( non standard header files ) in my C++ code to be compiled by gcc. The C header (foo.h) has support for : #ifdef __cplusplus extern "C" { #endif and similarly at the end for }. The c++ code has the include "foo.h" I believe I should be able to just include the header (foo.h) and create instances of structs defined in the .h file. I am not able to compile the source code. It seems like the compiler looks at the c code as if it were c++ code. I see error such as error: expected constructor, destructor or type conversion before "(" Did I do something wrong ? I took advise from : http://www.parashift.com/c++-faq-lite/mixing-c-and-cpp.html What else do i need to do, to tell the c++ compiler "expect and compile as c code" ?

I can't open the table properties windows at the bottom of the screen when I double click on a table, and I can't right-click on the table and choose properties because the choice is not there... The Database tab is missing from the ribbon on top. What can cause this?   • Non-interactive command-line FTP client alternative to weex

    Hi, I'm looking for a good non-interactive, command line FTP client to be run from a Rakefile. Like Weex, but better. Weex has different problems (for me): It stores its config file in my home dir. I want the FTP config to be part of my project and weex doesn't have a --config-file option or something. The behavior of ignoring files seems to be completely buggy. It doesn't remove files which it should, it doesn't let me specify relative paths, even though I do it according to the man page's instructions, etc. I've been struggling with it for an hour now and it is just completely inexplicable. I tried running rsync over FTPFS/FUSE, but that is dead slow because FTP doesn't store mtimes, which makes rsync diff every file. Plus, there are some refresh problems and other bugs that cause access failure (http://bugs.gentoo.org/208168). I'm stuck with FTP, unfortunately. Any help is appreciated.

    My linux application is performing non-blocking TCP connect syscall and then use epoll_wait to detect three way handshake completion. Sometimes epoll_wait returns with both POLLOUT & POLLERR revents set for the same socket descriptor. I would like to understand what's going on at TCP level. I'm not able to reproduce it on demand. My guess is that between two calls to epoll_wait inside my event loop we had a SYN+ACK/ACK/FIN sequence but again I'm not able to reproduce it. Any clue ? Regards, Seb

    Hi all, In C++ an interface can be implemented by a class with all its methods pure virtual: class IFoo { public: virtual void method() = 0; }; Now I want to implement this interface by a hierarchy of classes: class FooBase : public IFoo // implement interface IFoo { public: void method(); // calls methodImpl; private: virtual void methodImpl(); }; For the class hierarchy I would like to use the non-virtual interface (NVI) idiom, to deny derived classes the possibility of overriding the common behavior implemented in FooBase::method(), but it seems that all derived classes have the opportunity to override the FooBase::method() because it is declared in the interface class. Is my observation correct? And if so are there other options to both use interface classes and the NVI idiom?

  • Compiling .NET component that uses a non specific required version of a 3rd Party Vendor component

    If someone were to develop a .NET component that relied on non specific versions of a vendor DLL - let's say it worked with My3rdPartyComponent.dll which is a .NET assembly, but it didn't matter which version. Some instances of classes found in this component would need to be passed into my component. Developers would reference my component dll but not have access to the source code. Basically, I want to be able to require the user to pass in an instance of 3rdPartyComponent.MyClass to my component functions but I do not care if it's version 1.1, 2.2, 2.23.980, etc of the 3rd party dll. Is there a way to do this while still typing the parameter I want to be passed in to my component? I don't want to use Object as the reference. In my component project I could specify SpecificVersion=True on the assembly reference. Will this solve my problem or will there be other 'dll hell' issues to deal with that I am not seeing?

  • Delete or comment out non-working JUnit tests?

    I'm currently building a CI build script for a legacy application. There are sporadic JUnit tests available and I will be integrating a JUnit execution of all tests into the CI build. However, I'm wondering what to do with the 100'ish failures I'm encountering in the non-maintained JUnit tests. Do I: 1) Comment them out as they appear to have reasonable, if unmaintained, business logic in them in the hopes that someone eventually uncomments them and fixes them 2) Delete them as its unlikely that anyone will fix them and the commented out code will only be ignored or be clutter for evermore 3) Track down those who have left this mess in my hands and whack them over the heads with the printouts of the code (which due to long-method smell will be sufficently suited to the task) while preaching the benefits of a well maintained and unit tested code base

We are exporting grid's underlying datatable to Excel and displaying Open - Save - Cancel dialouge box on click of a server side button. Following is the code we are executing on click of server side button. this.Page.Response.Clear(); this.Page.Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=MyTasks.xls"); this.Page.Response.ContentType = "application/ms-excel"; this.Page.Response.Write("...here goes my well formated html...."); this.Page.Response.End(); Problem is that when i click on Cancel in the diaglouge box then dialogue box to Open/Save excel disappears but all the server side buttons placed on my web part becomes non responsive, on click of any of those buttons their server side click event does not get fired !!!     I'm facing an issue with file download with IE6-8 in non ssl environment. I've seen a lot of articles about the IE attachment download issue with ssl. As per the articles I tried to set the values of Pragma, Cache-Control headers, but still no luck with it. These are my response headers Cache-Control: private, max-age=5 Date: Tue, 25 May 2010 11:06:02 GMT Pragma: private Content-Length: 40492 Content-Type: application/pdf Content-Disposition: Attachment;Filename="file name.pdf" Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1 I've set the header values after going through some of these sites KB 812935 KB 316431 But these items are related to SSL. I've checked the response body and headers using fiddler, the response body is proper. I'm using window.open(url, "_blank") to download the file, if I change it to window.open(url, "_parent") or change the "Content-Disposition" to 'inline;Filename="file name.pdf"' it works fine. Please help me to solve this problem

  • Problem with ajax and posting non-latin characters

    Posting non-latin based languages with ajax + jquery doesn't save to mysql the correct text. What I have done is this: I am getting multiple translated words from Google's translation api. The ajax request is showing the correct translations for all languages. But when i try and insert this into the db it shows up in php my admin as garbled text I added AddDefaultCharset UTF-8 to .htaccess file on the root. I tried setting the header in php to utf-8 and this did not work. I have tried adding a contentType to ajax setup but this didn't work also. Any suggestions appreciated. jason
