  • Moving files between Windows computers without creating network shares

    What's needed: To move several directories between two Windows 2008 servers on a regular basis. Due to security requirements, neither server is supposed to have network shares set up or extraneous software installed. What's available: Administrator access to both machines (including remote desktop access if that helps). A third machine with: Visual Studio 2010 Cygwin Bonus extras The script that does the rest of the work (apart from moving the files) is currently written in F#, but any .net/command line based solution would be fine.

I want to read all the bits of hex data of a MP3 file and have my speakers play it. :) I have no idea where to start since I don't yet know how data is actually stored into a MP3 file.   • Very basic question about Hadoop and compressed input files

    I have started to look into Hadoop. If my understanding is right i could process a very big file and it would get split over different nodes, however if the file is compressed then the file could not be split and wold need to be processed by a single node (effectively destroying the advantage of running a mapreduce ver a cluster of parallel machines). My question is, assuming the above is correct, is it possible to split a large file manually in fixed-size chunks, or daily chunks, compress them and then pass a list of compressed input files to perform a mapreduce?

  • How to install MUI files into GAC?

    I am writing a C++/CLI assembly that uses some native DLLs. During compile I can list them as "assembly link resource" so that the assembly is aware of these dependencies. When I use gacutils, it properly pulls all the native DLLs into GAC and they get properly loaded from GAC. Now, some of these native DLLs are localized, and have MUI files. How do I get those to be automatically copied to GAC as well?

    Hi, with a previous bash script I created a list of files: data_1_box data_2_box ... data_10_box ... data_99_box the thing is that now I need to concatenate them, so I tried ls -l data_* but I get ..... data_89_box data_8_box data_90_box ... data_99_box data_9_box but I need to get in the sucession 1, 2, 3, 4, .. 9, ..., 89, 90, 91, ..., 99 Can it be done in bash?

  • ASP.NET 2.0 files work in one folder, but NOT in another

    I am about to leap of a building. I have created an app for a client and all the files are in a folder on their D drive. Now it is time to go production, so I copied all my files and folders to their excisting classic asp folder on the same drive. BUT NOTHING WORKS. The only difference I can see is that DEV does not require HTTPS like the production site. I also made sure all the permissions are the same on both folder. I made sure that the GAC has read rights using the aspnet_regiis tool. I am at the end of my debug knowlegde, could someone please help me out.     Hello i am using vim and snipMate i very times i need to name the html files to php, just because 1 or 2 lines of code. I every time i create an php file no introduce html and i have to activate the html snippets manually with the command set ft=php.html I intend to activate it automatically in this this line on my vimrc autocmd BufREad, BufNewFile *.php set ft=php.html Is this correct? I am missing anything or is something wrong? Thanks already.
