• Slow synch of files form iPad to webserver?

  I'm building a recording iPad application that will take some moderately large recordings on the iPad (5-10 minutes of full audio roughly 5-10Megabytes in size.) How can I synch such large files to my web server for use? I want the synching to occur asynchronously in the background. Is there an existing library/utility to synch files in the Megabyte range from an iPhone/iPad to a server in small chunks?

Problem case: If user is having view rights on the document library but add/delete rights on a perticular subfolder(say 'subfolder') inside the document library: Menu item 'Import From REP' is not visible on root folder level as well as 'Upload' menu is also not visible. which is o.k. because user does not have AddListItems right on root folder but it is also not visible in 'subfolder' while 'Upload' menu is visible as user has add/delete rights on the 'subfolder'. did i mention a wrong value of attribute Rights(Rights="AddListItems") in the xml file?? If so, what should be the correct value? What should i do to simulate the behaviour of 'Upload' menu??(i.e. when 'Upload' menu is visible, 'Import From REP' menu is visible and when 'Upload' menu is not visible 'Import From REP' menu is also not visible. ) Thanks in advance Anoop

• firefox, jQuery ajax calls firing twice and never triggering success or error functions

  Hi, I am developing with the .NET framework, using jQuery 1.4.2 client side. When developing in Firefox version 3.6, every so often an one of the many ajax calls I make on the page will fire twice, the second will return successfully but will not trigger the success handler of the ajax call and the first never returns anything. So basically the data is all sent to the server and response is sent down but nothing happens with the response. Here is an example of the call I am making. It happens to any of the ajax calls, so there is not one particular that is causing the problem: $.ajax({ type:"POST", contentType : "application/json; charset=utf-8", data:"{}", dataType:"json", success:function(){ alert('success'); }, error:function(){ alert('error'); }, url:'/services.aspx/somemethod' }); }) From firebug, here are the headers of the first call which in firebug shows as never completely responding, meaning i see no response code and the loader gif in the firebug never goes away. I have seen this article about firefox 3.5+ and preflighted requests https://developer.mozilla.org/En/HTTP_access_control#Preflighted_requests In the article is says if a "POST" is made with any other content type than "application/x-www-form-urlencoded, multipart/form-data, or text/plain" than the request is pre-flighted. • Large file uploads from web pages

  Hi folks, I code primarily in PHP and Perl. I have a client who is insisting on seeking video submissions (any encoding) from the public via one of their pages rather than letting YouTube do its job. Server in question is a virtual machine and I can adjust ini settings for max post, max upload size etc as needed.   Hi, I have a very specific web page that causes webview to crash with the Garnage Collector ON (does not crash when OFF). Easy to reproduce: create a document base application, drop a webview, and have the following line (button perhaps). - (void)connectSearch:(id)sender { [[webView mainFrame] loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://apple.com"]]]; } I guess this scenario is only valid while Apple advertises their new iPad. At the bottom of the page there is two video you can watch. Click on the one on the right. When it is playing, click on the Close button (link) top left - which sends #SwapViewPreviousSelection - and that's it, it crashes. I'm just learning about the garbage collector but I suspect something is collected that should not. Any idea what can prevent the crash, other than turning off the garbage collector? Thank you.   I have a custom ViewGroup that inflates a ListView from an xml layout. The list item layout is inflated from another xml file. All of the views are set to fill_parent. The ListView fills its parent, but the ListView items don't. I've tried putting the ListView in a LinearLayout and assigning weight to it. Tried RelativeLayout as well. Also, I've built the ListView programmaticaly, without using the xml layout. Even changed the LayoutParams before adding the view to the ViewGroup. I've also taken in consideration these posts as well: Width of clickable area in ListView w/ onListItemClick, In Android, how can I set a ListView item's height and width?, Android Listview width prob. Any ideas to why the items don't extend to fill width? And how to extend them? • Xcode 3.2.2 and localization of Settings.bundle

  I have just discovered that after upgrading to the latest Xcode 3.2.2, I am not able anymore to localize Settings.bundle. The "Make File Localizable button always appears grayed out, and the Settings.bundle files appear with "No Explicit File Encoding", instead of UTF-16.   I'm having an issue getting Appstats to work correctly. Using /appstats or /appstats/stats ends up in an infinite loop that keeps redirecting back to /appstats/stats. This results in a 404 error saying the page isn't redirecting properly. Any idea what the issue is? Here are the relevant lines in my appengine-web.xml.
