  • Custom Extension not showing up wthin experimental instance

    I have a VSIX extension that I created which shows up in Visual Studio 2010 and works as designed. However I am attempting to build some Visual Studio automation which relies on this Extension and although its present in the project where I am building my automation package, when I run the package project, the visual studio experimental solution loads no problem, however when I look within the Extension Manager I do not see my registered Extension (even though it shows up within my Visual Studio project where I am building my extension. The extension is a custom shell for LightSwitch which may be a clue as to why it is not showing within my experimental instance of Visual Studio, not sure as I see other extensions I built and registered for LightSwitch showing up. Of course my issue is that when I attempt to load a solution that has a dependency on my LightSwitch extension, which otherwise loads fine outside of the Experimental Instance, fails due to the fact it can't locate my custom extension when I try to load the solution within my experimental solution.

  • Type hinting and optional attributes in PHP

    I have a class method that deals with dates: public function setAvailability(DateTime $start, DateTime $end){ } Since item availability can have lower limit, upper limit, both or none, I'd like to make setAvailability() accept NULL values as well. However, the NULL constant violates the type hinting: $foo->setAvailability(NULL, $end); triggers: Catchable fatal error: Argument 1 passed to Foo::setAvailability() must be an instance of DateTime, null given And, as far as I know, I cannot have a DateTime instance with no value. (Can I?) For a reason I cannot grasp, this seems to work: public function setAvailability(DateTime $start=NULL, DateTime $end=NULL){ } ... $foo->setAvailability(NULL, $end); But it looks like a hack that works by pure chance. How would you deal with unset dates in PHP classes?

    I have List<Attributes> la = new List<Attributes>(); la = (from t in result let t1 = t.AttributeCollection from t2 in t1 where t2.AttributeCode.Equals(attributeType) let t3 = t2.TimeSeriesData from k in t3.ToList() where k.Key.Equals(startDate) && k.Key.Equals(endDate) select new { AttributeCode = attributeType, TimeSeriesData = fn(k.Key, k.Value.ToString()) }).ToList<Attributes>(); I am getting the error: 'System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<AnonymousType#1>' does not contain a definition for 'ToList' and the best extension method overload 'System.Linq.Enumerable.ToList<TSource>(System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable<TSource>)' has some invalid arguments I understood tye error meaning but how to type cast it. I have used var and then iterating over it got the result. But without that any other way by which I can do it? Using C# 3.0 Thanks

  • Post parameters to a frame of new window

    I have to modify an existing web search page. There is a page, where all the search filters are (form with name "searchform"). When the search button is pressed, results are shown in new window. Because the search takes up to 30 seconds, and while searching the window stays blank, I have to add a label "Searching. Please wait..." at the new created window with the results. So the search window is created, and I set it's location to a frameset. First frame will show the label, and the second will show the results. But i can't manage to update the second frame with the results.     hello. I look in documentation and source code but cannot figure out how to get return value type of boost bind functor. I am trying to accomplish following: 35 template<typename T,size_t N, class F> 36 boost::array<typename F::value_type, N> make_array(T (&input)[N], F unary) { 37 boost::array<typename F::value_type, N> array; 38 std::transform(input, input + N, array.begin(), unary); 39 return array; 40 } where F can be bind functor. the above does not work because functor does not have value_type. for that matter, is there standard interface for unary/binary functor as far as return value.     Ok so I am very new to html and the web. Right now I am trying to generate list items on the fly and then have them post back to the web server so I know what the person is trying to obtain. Btw, the code running behind is C#.     Hi, I have an application which is trying to save a photo to the database. I've created a grails domain class with a byte[] property and this was working well when using HSQLDB (the default in grails). However, when I changed the database to MySQL I ended up getting the following error: Data truncation: Data too long for column 'photo' at row 1 I then had a look at the schema and found that the byte[] was being created as a TINYBLOB field, which was causing the error. How can I specify that this property should correspond to a BLOB/LONGBLOB type in the database?

    Hi All! I have asp.net application, using LINQ to connecto to SQL Server 2008 R2 databse. My connection string: Data Source=[SqlServerIp];Initial Catalog=[databaseName]User Id=newLogin;Password=newPassword; When I deploy application on my local IIS (which is not the same machine as database server) it works fine, but when I deploy application on other IIS (the same machine as sqlServer) it throws an exception: System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermission, System.Data, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. Anyone knows how to fix it? Maybe it is due to some bad configuration of IIS? Please help.

    Say I have two type classes defined as follows that are identical in function but different in names: class Monad m where (>>=) :: m a -> (a -> m b) -> m b return :: a -> m a class PhantomMonad p where pbind :: p a -> (a -> p b) -> p b preturn :: a -> p b Is there a way to tie these two classes together so something that is an instance of PhantomMonad will automatically be an instance of Monad, or will instances for each class have to be explicitly written?   • Why "Content-Length: 0" in POST requests?

    A customer sometimes sends POST requests with Content-Length: 0 when submitting a form (10 to over 40 fields). We tested it with different browsers and from different locations but couldn't reproduce the error. The customer is using Internet Explorer 7 and a proxy. We asked them to let their system administrator see into the problem from their side. Running some tests without the proxy, etc.. In the meantime (half a year later and still no answer) I'm curious if somebody else knows of similar problems with a Content-Length: 0 request. Maybe from inside some Windows network with a special proxy for big companies. Is there a known problem with Internet Explorer 7? With a proxy system? The Windows network itself? Google only showed something in the context of NTLM (and such) authentication, but we aren't using this in the web application. Maybe it's in the way the proxy operates in the customer's network with Windows logins? (I'm no Windows expert. Just guessing.) I have no further information about the infrastructure.

  • Errors when using a Ruby On Rails scaffold with a data type of interger

    I am learning Ruby On Rails. I am on a shared hosting with Ruby version 1.8.1 and Rails version 2.3.10. I am working my way through a tutorial at http://railstutorial.org/chapters/a-demo-app?version=2.3#top and at one point in the tutorial it has me run: script/generate scaffold Micropost content:string user_id:interger The tutorial is using the default database, SQLite3. The command works and I use rake db:migrate to create the database. I can view the page listing the microposts (which is empty), but when I try to add a micropost (microposts/new) I get an error undefined method `user_id' for #<Micropost:0x7f710e4988e8> After doing some testing on my own it seems I experience the problem by using the data type of interger. While I understand that using a scaffold is not the best way of building a ruby on rails, I'm just beginning and would still like to know why I am experiencing this problem to help me better understand how rails works.

If not, what part of the code is creating the issue? I've set return types/values for eventData class methods Is there a workaround for the Gson Unit issue? Thanks!

  • How to list all items in custom taxonomy with a permanlink in Wordpress

    Hi, Not sure how to word this. I've set up a type in Wordpress called Products. I also have two taxonomies linked to Products called Brands and Categories. When you create a product you can set to which Brand and Category the product belong to. It works perfectly when using the type as permalink to list everything within a type http://sitename.com/products but I can't seem to get the taxonomies working in the same way, ie. list all the items within a taxonomy (like an archive, I suppose): http://sitename.com/brands http://sitename.com/categories Is this possible, and if so, what could I possibly be doing wrong? I would try and set up some rewrite rules in functions.php, but I don't know what the query string looks like if you want to list items in a taxonomy, and if this is even possible. If it helps, I'm using the plugins More Types and Ultimate Taxonomy Manager to create the types and taxonomies.

    I'm just starting with PHPUnit and am ok with all assert* methods, but can't figure out how to test for error thrown when the wrong argument is provided to the method - say hinted with array like so: public function(array $list) { } and then tested with null as argument. Could someone please provide an example of how to test for this sort of errors? I've checked quite a few posts on stackoverflow, but couldn't find the answer to this specific issue.     I'm working on creating a date/time user control in WPF using C# 2008. My first user control. I'm also using Matthew MacDonald's book, "Pro WPF in C# 2008". In that book he strongly recommended creating a user control using the WPF Custom Control Library project template; so I followed his suggestion. I've finished writing the code which would go into what I think of as the code-behind file. Now I'm ready to write the XAML. The only problem is, I just discovered there is no corresponding .xaml file? So, I don't get why using a WPF Custom Control Library project is better, or prefered, when writing a user control?

    Probably this is not a difficult question, but I am always a little bit confused on how to treat String type as an argument in Visual C++. I have the following to functions: void function_1(String ^str_1) { str_1 = gcnew String("Test"); } void function_2() { String ^str_2 = nullptr; function_1(str_2); } After calling function_1, str_2 is still equal to null, but what I want to achieve is that str_2 is equal to Test. So, how can I achieve that the content of str_1 is passed to function_2? Thanks for any advice.
