  • Parsing ip addresses in php

    I am trying to get the number of active connections (Real Time) from a log file by IP connected and having a Play status but instead, it's giving me the total number of IP with status play. The number doesn't decrease at all. Keeps on increasing as soon as a new ip is added. How can I fix it?     Having a nightmare at the moment and just can't see why it isn't working I have a value in the form H:i (ie 10:00, 13:30) etc called $time What I want to do is create two new values, $startTime which is 30 mins before $time and $endTime which is 30 mins after $time I have tried the following but just doesn't seem to want to work $startTime = date("H:i",strtotime('-30 minutes',$time)); $endTime = date("H:i",strtotime('+30 minutes',$time)); If I pass through 10:00 as $time and echo out both $startTime and $endTime I get: $startTime = 00:30 $startTime = 01:30

If it contains single quotes or line breaks or others, the above code will break. And I do not have access to the server-side code. What's the easiest way to "escape" the contents of $str_from_server into a javascript string, and then it can be restored later?

  • jQuery.post not working when using data type json

    I have been trying to utilize json in this jQuery.post because I need to return two values from my executed php. The code was working when I was not implementing json. I need to see if a promo code entered is valid for a particular broker. The two variables I need back are the instant message whether or not it's valid (this is displayed to the user) and I need to update a hidden field that will be used later while updating the database. The jQuery.post does not seem to be firing at all, but the code directly above it (the ajax-loader.gif) is working. I did re-write the whole thing at one point using jQuery.ajax, and had issues there too. Granted, I have probably been looking at this too long and have tried to re-write too many times, but any help is greatly appreciated!! Whenever I call something like if(empty($this->input->post("foo")){//blabla} The whole PHP is "down" and I get a blank page from the website (even when I don't pass through this empty(input) line). I know this is not the right method and it is stupid, I change the code to if(!$this->input->post("foo")){//blabla} Better I guess ? Seriously, how come the empty(input) breaks down the entire PHP page ? (I can't get any echo "something").
