  • How do I prevent use of beta classes from google guava library?

    We have been using Google collections in the production for several months. We would like to start using guava for additional functions. However, I'm afraid to bring guava into our product stack b/c some developers may start to use 'beta' classes. We have various unit-tests in our code but at this point, I prefer not to include 'beta' class b/c it is subject to change in the future. Is there any easy way to do detect if the project includes any 'beta' guava classes?

    I have a controller that's inheriting from a base controller, and I'm wondering how I can utilize all of the logic from the base controller, but return a different view than the base controller uses. The base controller populates a model object and passes that model object to its view, but I'm not sure how I can access that model object in the child controller so that I can pass it to the child controller's view.

These objects end up being rendered as views (say forms) in a rich client app. I started to annotate the fields in the model objects (Java annotations) with things that let me render them as forms on the fly (e.g displayname, group, page, validvalues). Question: If I have a database with many tables, should I create only one edmx for all tables or mutiple edmx files? for example, maybe all security tables for one edmx file, other tables for another edmx file. If there is more than one, then in other tiers, there will have more then on ObjectContext in code for business logic. Which one it the best solution for this case?

  • Is there a way to bypass the jQuery error handler?

    If my Ajax call returns a successful result, but while processing the result I cause an exception, the error handler fires. This seems counter intuitive to me as I think the error handler should only fire when an error occurs as a result of making the Ajax call or via a server-side error. I am trying to use the Ajax function in a unit test so I would like to tell the difference between the two different failure scenarios.

  • Reading HTTP headers from JAX-WS Web Service

    Hi all, I currently have a JAX-WS Web Service that receives some credentials in the HTTP header. These are used for BASIC authentication. There is a filter that performs authentication by reading the HTTP headers and checking against the database. Still, I need the username from within the Web Service in order to perform other service logic related stuff. Is there a way of accessing the HTTP headers from within the Web Service? Thanks.
