  • Program to set time on local computer using GPS data

    I have a laptop running Windows XP that does not connect to the Internet and I would like to use a USB GPS receiver as a time source to set the clock. Generally, the laptop will not have access to the open sky so getting a strong, multi-satellite connection is not likely. Ideally, I would like to be able to have the program detect the GPS receiver and set the clock without intervention from the user. Is what I'm seeking even feasible?

  • How to get a Unicode-supporting font for Windows 7 command-line?

    I've pointed the command-line to the right codepage (chcp 65001), but there's a lot of Unicode characters that Consolas and Lucida Console can't show. Specifically, I want the printable IPA characters to show up. It's not important to fix multi-codepoint glyphs, although it would be nice. How can I get such a font and install it for the command-line? Below is an example of some characters that can't be rendered.

  • Is it possible to run multiple mongod instances on a single set of database files

    We have large multi-gigabyte data sets on which we run very complex queries, for example { $or: [ { id: 30000001, ... }, { id: 30000005, ... }, ..., { id: 30001005, ... } ] } It seems that CPU is actually a bottleneck at this point, so I'd be advantageous to be able to run multiple mongod instances on the same set of database files. We've considered using replica sets to this end, but would prefer to not require the extra disk space simply for CPU reasons.

  • Multiline select in notepad++

    In sublime text if I perform a find for an occurrence of a particular word not only is this occurrence found but it also selected and has the cursor at the end of each occurrence so that pushing the right arrow key the cursor will move the cursor to the beginning of each occurrence simultaneously so that I can perform whatever operation I wish on all the selections. Does notepad++ have something similar to this feature? I know that I can multi-line select by Ctrl+ mouse click, but I just wanting to know of an automated so to speak way of doing this in notepad++

    Say I have an SSL Certificate for a super cool site that I offer, like https://secure.coolsite.com/ (Not my site, just an example). Then lets say I had a customer who wanted to have a CNAME to my site on his server, like https://mycoolsite.his-site.com/ Would he need a regular SSL certificate on his end, would I need to have a second certificate on my end (And just "install" it on my webserver), or would I need a multi-domain SSL certificate, or he just has to list my site as an alias on his certificate?     I am using wireshark to monitor traffic on a server - Problem is, the computer I am using is only a terminal wired through the switch. Main line comes into the server which is relayed to multi-port switch (roughly 50 connections). Right now I get a lot of server communication between my it and my terminal but shows no information for other terminals. Can wireshark be configured to monitor ALL traffic in this environment?

    I need to convert videos for use in both a flash player and the iphone/ipod touch.   • Android: how to place a button at an x,y position over top of Canvas

    Is it possible to place buttons at an X,Y position over the top of a Canvas? For example, on the opening screen of my game, I would like to place buttons for "Play Now", "Instructions", etc, right on top of the canvas. Right now, I'm looking at Touch locations on the Canvas and comparing them to various X,Y bounds. It works, but adding a button with a click listener would probably be much more efficient.

  • iPad Gestures. How Do I Force a Child View to Discard Gesture Events.

    On iPad, I have a parent-child view hierarchy. The parent is a fullscreen EAGLView and the child is a UIToobar. The parent has pan/touch/pinch gesture recognizers attached. When gestures occur on the child (toolbar) they are passed on to the parent (fullscreen view). Not what I want. How do I force the toolbar to discard/ignore gestures? Thanks, Doug

    hey guys i have a porject where i have to be able to view my webcam on my mobile phone, which happens to be a blackberry bold 9700 but can also get a hold of an i pod touch so either phone is ok to use. the problem that i have is that everytime i do a search for help on this i end up with a program which enevitably asks for money and this is not allowd in the project, ive been trying to stream using vlc player and viewing it on the opera mini for blackberry but no such luck so far, any help would be great thanks a lot

    Hi, I want to call "presentmodalviewcontroller" when the iPhone / iPod Touch is rotated to landscape mode with a flip animation. When it gets rotated back to portrait, I want to present the first view again, again with the flip animation.
