  • Sorted directory size display in Unix

    - by Srikanth M
    How do i display directory sizes in a sorted manner in Unix while listing only innermost sub-directories? For example, I don't want to something like this - 100270480 /a/b/BP/b/bat/qc3 100270416 /a/b/BP/b/bat/qc3/logs 99020464 /a/b/BP/b/bat/qc3/logs/i 99005456 /a/b/BP/b/bat/qc5 99005408 /a/b/BP/b/bat/qc5/logs 97726832 /a/b/BP/b/bat/qc5/logs/i I just want - 99020464 /a/b/BP/b/bat/qc3/logs/i 97726832 /a/b/BP/b/bat/qc5/logs/i

  • How do you determine an acceptable response time for DB requests?

    - by qiq
According to this discussion of Google App Engine on Hacker News, A DB (read) request takes over 100ms on the datastore. That's insane and unusable for about 90% of applications. How do you determine what is an acceptable response time for a DB read request? I have been using App Engine without noticing any issues with DB responsiveness. But, on the other hand, I'm not sure I would even know what to look for in that regard :)

  • Directory ignored by "setup.py"

    - by lazy1
The Selenium setup.py can be found at http://code.google.com/p/selenium/source/browse/trunk/setup.py. When running "python setup.py sdist" the "firefox/test/py" directory is ignored for some reason though it's mentioned in the "package_dir" and in "packages". Any ideas why it's ignored?

  • Iterate through directory filenames using JavaScript on ASP.NET C#

    - by Gal V
Hello all, I'm trying to read all filenames from a specified (server- not client) folder, and insert all the filenames into a javascript Array. It should behave like the Directory.GetFiles method in ASP.NET C#. I created a new array, and I just need the loop method (Javascript or jQuery) to iterate in the specific folder, and insert all the filenames into the array. Thanks all helpers!

  • .hgignore directory "_notes" throughout repository tree?

    - by Subu
I want to ignore all directories "_notes" throughout a repository. _notes is generated by dreamweaver and is not part of the project itself, but these directories are scattered throughout the project. Somehow ^_notes$ is not doing the job in .hgignore ... Do I have to direct .hgignore to each and every directory "_notes" or does it do it recursively? I am not quite sure about the man pages

  • ASP.NET Writing to the Bin directory, access denied when anonymous user

    - by LeeW
Hi all I have a program that creates a small file in the Bin directory for the purpose of tracking a license (that's the intention), all works fine when debugging but I've just realized that when I run it on a IIS server under the anonymous user account (IUSR) the file isn't created as IUSR only has read permission (I know this is correct but drat!). Can I write to another location under IUSR account or can I run my code under 'Local Service' account? Thanks

  • What is the difference between a "service account" and an "installed application"?

    - by TheBeatlemaniac
To my understanding, the main difference is that a service account doesn't require a user to log in for authorization, while an installed application does. I am making an Android app (an "installed application"?) that offers an in-app subscription, and doesn't require the user to log in to an account (a "service account"?). To get a Client ID for the Google Play Developer API, I have to declare it as either an installed application or a service account, and am unsure which to go with.

    - by teepusink
Hi, Once I connect my iPhone to my computer, is there anyway I can look at the directory structure on the phone? Would it work like a USB device for example and let me copy files without using iTunes but just drag and drop through the Finder on a Mac? Thanks, Tee

  • Displaying an image from the tmp directory

    - by Roland
I have the following. A website that create temporarily images in the /tmp folder on the Linux server. The reason why I store it within this folder is since these images need to be cleared once in a while and it's so much easier just to clear the tmp directory using tmpwatch. Now my issue is to display the image within my browser? Code <img src="/tmp/3d34636.png" alt="image" /> I'm running Centos with PHP

  • Tool to recursively search all files in a directory for a string [closed]

    - by routeNpingme
Possible Duplicate: Tools to search for strings inside files without indexing Before I make one, any good tools out there for free/cheap that will recurse through all files in a directory and search for a text string in them? Need to find an instance of a string in any configuration files laying around. Kind of like a Windows Search "find files that contain..." on steroids? Oops - This is pretty much a duplicate question, sorry, didn't find the other one before

  • Scheduled Task: Directory cleanup using windows batch script

    - by d03boy
I have a shared disk that I would like to clean up once per week using a scheduled task of some sort. I would like to use a batch script so that the system admins can easily modify it or reuse it on other directories when needed. The directory has files with multiple file extensions but the ones that need to be deleted end in .bkf and must be over 2 weeks old. Does anyone have a batch script solution for this windows server (not sure which version)?

  • How to create entities in one Entity group ?

    - by Gopi
I am building an app based on google app engine (Java) using JDO for persistence. Can someone give me an example or a point me to some code which shows persisting of multiple entities (of same type) using javax.jdo.PersistenceManager.makePersistentAll() within a transaction. Basically I need to understand how to put multiple entites in one Entity Group so that they can be saved using makePersistentAll() inside transaction.
