  • jQuery: detecting reaching bottom of scroll doesn't work, only detects the top! :(

    Hi folks! So basically my problem is a seemingly simple one. You can see it in action at http://furnace.howcode.com (please note that data is returned via Ajax, so if nothing happens give it a few moments!). What's MEANT to happen, is in the second column when you reach the bottom of scrolling, the next 5 results are returned. But what actually happens is it only returns the 5 results when you hit the TOP of the scroll area. Try it: scroll down, nothing happens. Scroll back up to the top, the results are returned. What's going wrong? Here's my code I'm using: $('#col2').scroll(function(){ if ($('#col2').scrollTop() == $('#col2').height() - $('#col2').height()){ loadMore(); } }); loadMore(); is the function that gets the data and appends it.   • Why doesn't Maven's mvn clean ever work the first time?

    Nine times out of ten when I run mvn clean on my projects I experience a build error. I have to execute mvn clean multiple times until the build error goes away. Does anyone else experience this? Is there any way to fix this within Maven? If not, how do you get around it? I wrote a bat file that deletes the target folders and that works well, but it's not practical when you are working on multiple projects. I am using Maven 2.2.1.   • Why don't my scrollbars work properly when programmatically hiding rows in silverlight Datagrid?

    I have a Silverlight datagrid with custom code that allows for +/- buttons on the lefthand side and can display a table with a tree structure. The +/- buttons are bound to a IsExpanded property on my ViewModelRows, as I call them. The visibility of rows is bound to an IsVisible property on the ViewModelRows which is determined based on whether or not all of the parent rows are expanded. Straightforward enough. This code works fine in that if I scroll up and down the grid with PageUp/PageDown or the arrow keys, all the right rows are hidden and everything has the right structure and I can play with the +/- buttons to my hearts content. However, the vertical scroll bar on the right hand side, although it starts off the correct size and it scrolls through the rows smoothly, when I collapse rows and then re-expand them, doesn't go back to its correct size. The scrollbar can still usually be moved around to scroll through the whole collection, but because it is too big, once the bar moves to the bottom, there are still more rows to go through and it sort of jerkily shoots all the way down to the bottom or sometimes fails to scroll at all. This is pretty hard to describe so I included a screenshot with the black lines drawn on to show the difference in scrollbar length even though the two grids have the same number of rows expanded. I think this might be a bug related to the way the Datagrid does virtualization of rows. It seems to me like it isn't properly keeping track of how tall each row is supposed to be when expansion states change. Is there a way to programmatically "poke" (read hack) it to recalculate its scrollbar size on LoadingRow or something ugly like that? I'd include a code sample but there's 2 c# files and 1 xaml file so I wanted to see if anyone else has heard of this sort of issue before I try to make it reproducible in a self-contained way. Once again, scrolling with the arrow keys works fine so I'm pretty sure the underlying logic and binding is working, there's just some issue with the row height not being calculated properly. I followed all instructions and the editor is working but i really dont understand what to do to make the correct preview appear, actually I can open the windows preview but i cant get the html code. I had download the parser file (markitup.bbcode.parser.php) and settled the previewParserPath too and i readed about configure or create some preview.php but really I dont know how to do it.   • Push notifications work for Ad Hoc, but not when downloaded from the Apple store.

    My app just got approved for the apple store. I downloaded it an installed it on my iPhone - but it looks like push notifications are broken! I was successfully testing push notifications in production using an adHoc provisioning profile. I had no problems. The only thing I did differently when I submitted to apple was using an app store distribution profile. The application never asks me (or anyone else who has downloaded it) if I want to receive push notifications. Consequently, the phone never talks to my server to send the push token (because application:didRegisterForRemoteNotificationsWithDeviceToken: is presumably never called). Also the application does not appear in the settings app under the notification settings. What could I be doing wrong??

  • How can I work around the fact that in C++, sin(M_PI) is not 0?

    In C++, const double Pi = 3.14159265; cout << sin(Pi); // displays: 3.58979e-009 it SHOULD display the number zero I understand this is because Pi is being approximated, but is there any way I can have a value of Pi hardcoded into my program that will return 0 for sin(Pi)? (a different constant maybe?) In case you're wondering what I'm trying to do: I'm converting polar to rectangular, and while there are some printf() tricks I can do to print it as "0.00", it still doesn't consistently return decent values (in some cases I get "-0.00") The lines that require sin and cosine are: x = r*sin(theta); y = r*cos(theta); BTW: My Rectangular - Polar is working fine... it's just the Polar - Rectangular Thanks! edit: I'm looking for a workaround so that I can print sin(some multiple of Pi) as a nice round number to the console (ideally without a thousand if-statements) edit: In case anyone's curious, this was what I landed on: double sin2(double theta) // in degrees { double s = sin(toRadians(theta)); if (fabs(s - (int)s) < 0.000001) { return floor(s + 0.5); } return s; } where toRadians() is a macro that converts to radians

    Here is the situation: I have a table value function with a datetime parameter ,lest's say tdf(p_date) , that filters about two million rows selecting those with column date smaller than p_date and computes some aggregate values on other columns. It works great but if p_date is a custom scalar value function (returning the end of day in my case) the execution plan is altered an the query goes from 1 sec to 1 minute execution time.   • Why does my Excel add-in only half work?

    I've created an Excel add-in using Visual Studio 2008. It has a ribbon, a bunch of panes and code that adds sheets and ranges and gets information scraped from a web page. When I run it on my dev PC it works perfectly. I used the Publish command to publich it and installed on a Windows XP virtual PC. The installation seemed fine and when I open Excel I see my ribbon. If I click a button that shows a pane, up pops the pane. If I enter some details into the pane that should create a range and populate it with data from a web page, the range is created but the web page is not visited (I have tested that I have connectivity). One of my buttons adds a hidden worksheet and another displays or hides that sheet. One of these buttons is not working. I've tried everything I can think of. I'm wondering if there are any permissions or trust issues I need to deal with?

    As suggested by (among others) Kazi Manzur Rashid in this blog post, I am using ActionFilterAttributes to transfer model state from one request to another when redirecting. However, I find myself unable to write a unit test that test the behavior of these attributes. As an example, this what I want the test for the ImportModelStateAttribute to do: Setup the filterContext so that TempData[myKey] contains some fake "exported" ModelState (that is, a ModelStateDictionary I create myself, and add one error to) Make ModelState contain one model error. Call OnActionExecuting. Verify the two dictionaries are merged, and ModelState now contains both errors. I'm at a loss already on the second step.

  • Does <httpRedirect> in web.config work in a mono setup? Or is it IIS7 specific?

    We had some content restructure recently and I'd like to put in some redirect rules into web.config so bookmarks to the old pages can get routed to their new locations/pages. I tried using this approach: <location path="~/product/productA.aspx"> <system.webServer> <httpRedirect enabled="true" destination="~/product/category/productA.aspx" exactDestination="false" childOnly="true" httpResponseStatus="Permanent" /> </system.webServer> </location> But all I'm getting when I go to "http://www.oursite.com/product/productA.aspx" is our http 404 page. Am I doing something wrong, or is the httpRedirect tag in web.config not supported in mono? worked, but not ideal for what we want to achieve. Thank you :)

  • Javascript keyup doesn't work as expected, it executes in instances where I have not removed my fing

    I'm trying to create a simple game in javascript and I'm stuck on how to deal with keys. Small example: function keyUpEvent(event) { alert(event.keyCode); } window.addEventListener("keyup", keyUpEvent, false); I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 and testing it in Firefox 3.5 and Chromium. If I press and release a button instantly I get an alert, which is to be expected, but when I press and hold a button I get a small pause and then a series of alert windows, the expected result is that I only get an alert window when I remove my finger from a button. I reason it has something to do with the fact that when I press and hold a button in a text area for example I get one character, small pause, and then a series of characters: dddddddddddddddd. I believe it's possible to get around this or do it more right or whatever since this game for example: http://bohuco.net/testing/gamequery/pong.html seams not to be affected by this. But I notice if I try out the jquery keyup demo ( api.jquery.com/keyup/ ) I get the same problem. How can I implement basic game key event handling?

  • Ad-Hoc mode and Cell (how does it work)?

    hello, I am setting up a wireless Ad-Hoc network manually in linux using iwconfig and ifconfig. I have gotten everything working, and I think I understand it all except access point. The part that confused me is this: If I have essid='some_id', channel=11, Mode=Ad-Hoc and appropriate routing/ip on both laptops, why do I need to make sure the Cell is the same? I was under the impression that Ad-Hoc worked independently of the access point. I can easily get around this, I just use iwconfig wlan0 ap 00:00:00:00:00:01 Why is this necessary? I've been unable to find a good tutorial on this. If anyone can clear this up I'd appreciate it. Thanks

  • Why doesn't my Unity DependencyResolver work on shared hosting but works locally?

    I'm trying to deploy ASP.NET MVC 3 application wich uses Unity as a IoC container. Application works fine on local server, but when deployed it throws an exception: No parameterless constructor defined for this object. And this is thrown for a controller that should get some repository injected by my Unity DependencyResolver. I've installed Unity with NuGet so it should be referenced directly, and I've checked that it gets copied to bin folder. I haven't been able to understand the following line: chars[i] = _allowedChars[(int)randomBytes[i] % allowedCharCount]; I understand that the code generates random binary numbers and uses those random numbers in the for loop to select a character from the _allowedChars string. What I don't get is why this code uses the modulous operator (%) to get the _allowedChars index value. Thanks for any help
