How much time before causes this event? Howto prevent this "horror"? I can restore\recover to normal work only by restart node... But what is the right way? Thank you, and Happy New Year!

  • Watermarking Flash Videos (server-side)

    Hi all, I have a bunch of flash videos that I need to watermark with user related information, to make illegal re-distribution of these files harder. I'm wondering how can this be done server-side. If done client-side, it will be quite easy for the user to intercept the videos before they are watermarked. Since the watermark should contain user-specific information I can't really watermark the videos before encoding them (unless I have an encoded video per user - not feasible). I'm expecting this to affect the streaming performances a lot, though. Any idea how this can be done (possibly in an efficient way)?

    Hi, If I apply a style from the SL 3.0 Toolkit to my application the built in SL 3.0 data validation errors are not displayed on the application edit forms. If I removed the code that applies the toolkit style to the application the SL 3.0 data validation errors appear as per normal SL 3.0 behaviour? Has anyone else come across this problem?????     I am having a sorted list which is rotated and I would like to do a binary search on that list to find the minimum element. Lets suppose initial list is {1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8} rotated list can be like {5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4} Normal binary search doesn't work in this case. Any idea how to do this.

    I am implementing a distributed chat system, in this system we have the following options : Make the client and server running at each node run as separate threads. The server acting as the receiver will be running as the daemon thread and the client taking the user input as a normal thread. Fork two processes one for the client and one for the server. I am not able to reason out with which one to proceed. Any insight would be great !

    Hello, Consider I scheduled a Runnable for periodic execution with ScheduledExecutorService and there occurs some system Error like OutOfMemory. It will be silently swallowed. scheduler.scheduleWithFixedDelay(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { throw new OutOfMemoryError(); // Swallowed } }, 0, delay, TimeUnit.SECONDS); Is it normal? Why doesn't it propagate to the container? What is the correct way to handle such errors? Thanks!

    i wanted to submit a multi-threaded job to the cluster network i'm working with - but the man page about qsub is not clear how this is done - By default i guess it just sends it as a normal job regardless of the multi-threading - but this might cause problems, i.e. sending many multi-threaded jobs to the same computer, slowing things down. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? thanks. The batch server system is sge.

  • Eclipse Package Explorer Zoom?

    Configuring Eclipse to look exactly how you want is a tough job I've found, therefore I'm not going to attempt to do this myself. I'd like to 'zoom out' of the Package Explorer side bar? You see, I like only having my code on the screen with a small section for the files in the project - however I can never see the full path of the file or package I'm currently in because of this. Is there a way to keep the 'main screen' normal, but zoom out of the Package Explorer by about 50%?

  • Not receiving touchesEnded/Moved/Cancelled after adding subView

    Title more or less says it all. In response to a touchesBegan event, my UIViewController recolours itself and adds some subviews. It never receives the touchesEnded. I guess because the added subviews are somehow intercepting the event. I tried calling resignFirstResponder on the subviews to no avail. The code works fine when I don't add the child views and the touch events are called as normal. Any ideas? Thanks

    Hi, Hoping someone can give me some pointers with this entropy problem. Say X is chosen randomly from the uniform integer distribution 0-32 (inclusive). I calculate the entropy, H(X) = 32 bits, as each Xi has equal probability of occurring. Now, say the following pseudocode executes. int r = rand(0,1); // a random integer 0 or 1 r = r * 33 + X; How would I work out the mutual information between the two variables r and X? Mutual Information is defined as I(X; Y) = H(X) - H(X|Y) but I don't really understand how to apply the conditional entropy H(X|Y) to this problem. Thanks

I downlodad the source and run python setup.py build but I get errors, related with numpy, which is not installed, so I decieded to install it first.     Hello, I'm testing my App and in a very simple view, each time a tap on a UITableView row, my allocation overall bytes get higher and higher and never go downs. I don't have any special code there, so I created a new project from scratch with a very simple view, force one section and just three rows. In the didSelectRowAtIndexPath code do nothing, and fire it with instruments and memory allocation and, the memory goes up with every cell selection ...     I'm looking for a data structure where each element in it has two keys. With one of them the structure is a BST and looking at the other one, data structure is a heap. With a little search, I found a structure called Treap. It uses the heap property with a random distribution on heap keys to make the BST balanced! What I want is a Balanced BST, which can be also a heap. The BST in Treap could be unbalanced if I insert elements with heap Key in the order of my choice. Is there such a data structure?
