OSGi bundle imports packages from non-bundle jars: create bundles for them?

I am new to OSGi, and am using Equinox. I have done several searches and can find no answer to this. The discussion at OSGI - handling 3rd party JARs required by a bundle helps somewhat, but does not fully answer my question. I have obtained a jar file, rabbitmq-client.jar, that is already packaged as an OSGi bundle (with Bundle-Name and other such properties in its MANIFEST.MF), that I would like to install as a bundle. This jar imports packages org.apache.commons.io and org.apache.commons.io.input from commons-io-1.2.jar. The RabbitMQ client 2.7.1 distribution also includes commons-cli-1.1.jar, so I presume that it is required as well. I examined the manifests of these commons jars and found that they do not appear to be packaged as bundles. That is, their manifests have none of the standard bundle properties. My specific question is: if I install rabbitmq-client.jar as a bundle, what is the proper way to get access to the packages that it needs to import from the commons jars? There are only three alternatives that I can think of, without rebuilding rabbitmq-client.jar. The packages from the commons jars are already included in the Equinox global classpath, and rabbitmq-client.jar will get them automatically from there. I must make another bundle with the two commons jars, export the needed packages, and install that bundle in Equinox. I must put these two commons jars in the global classpath when I start Equinox, and they will be available to rabbitmq-client.jar from there. I have read that one normally does not use the global classpath in an OSGi container. I am not clear on whether items from the global classpath are even available when building individual bundle classpaths. However, I note that rabbitmq-client.jar also imports other packages such as javax.net, which I presume come from the global classpath. Or is there some other bundle that exports them? Maven build issue with Hibernate for Windows

Hi! I'm getting build errors for for my Maven enabled project related to the Hibernate extension. - It's a very basic app, and I was able to solve this issue on my Linux box by manually installing some required artifacts: mvn install:install-file -DgroupId=javassist -DartifactId=javassist -Dversion=3.9.0 -Dpackaging=jar -Dfile=foo.jar That worked out (Hibernate as a set of required deps). But in case of Windows things are different. How do I add the dependencies manually to Maven on Windows? 1) org.hibernate:hibernate:jar:3.3.2 Try downloading the file manually from the project website. Then, install it using the command: mvn install:install-file -DgroupId=org.hibernate -DartifactId=hibernate -Dversion=3.3.2 -Dpackaging=jar -Dfile=/path/to/file 2) javassist:javassist:jar:3.9.0 Can I automate this cumbersome manual dependency installation for my coworkers on their Windows machines? Are there any helpful tools or GUI that can perform these tasks? The best way would be that Maven does it all automatically. I'm not too familiar with it jet. Thanks for answers.

WTF? I guess I'm missing something fundamental here.

Why does Perl lose foreign characters on Windows; can this be fixed (if so, how)?

The particular problem I'm trying to fix involves working with image files stored on a local drive, and manipulating the file names which may contain foreign characters. The two experiments shown below are intermediate debugging steps. How to prevent onclick statements from being executed?

I want to use an event listener for preventing the onclick statement of a submit button, however, using event.preventDefault() doesn't work as intended. No class def found error for JUnit Test on android

I am having some very bizarre behaviour. I have a large number of test cases for my Android application, and they all work except for one. When I run this one I get a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org.JUnit.test Yes, I have the JUnit 4 library imported into the project, and my other JUnit tests are running without any problems. What is particularly bizarre is that before I hit this problem I had an error in my code- basically, I tried writing a file to a read only folder. When that occurred, the JUnitTest would execute up to the point where it would hit an IO exception for accessing a part of memory it cannot access. I fix this problem, and suddenly the Android emulator doesn't seem to know what org.JUnit.test is. I have examined the run configuration for this test class, and it is the same as my others. It is in the same folder as the other tests as well. It also uses the same import statements. Any idea on what is going on? I am using the Android 10 emulator, and eclipse version 3.7.2. Edit: To clarify, the error I get appears on Logcat and not in my Eclipse project.

Is it possible to access the SMIL timer from javascript?

I'm trying to use SMIL to animate the typing of text into a field embedded in a SVG. So, I thought I would register for the beginEvent and do the substitution manually. Cannot connect to mysql via servlet

Hi all I have been since 2 days trying to figure out why my servlet does not connect to the database MySql. I have mysql installed and working properly and eclipse. I am trying to use bgiform but it seems to have no effect. The text in IE is pushed off of the screen of the dialogue box when its displayed. It works fine in FF. Getting rejected value null spring validation

Error "initializer element is not constant" when trying to initialize variable with const

I get an error on line 6 (initialize my_foo to foo_init) of the following program and I'm not sure I understand why. typedef struct foo_t { int a, b, c; } foo_t; const foo_t foo_init = { 1, 2, 3 }; foo_t my_foo = foo_init; int main() { return 0; } Keep in mind this is a simplified version of a larger, multi-file project I'm working on. The goal was to have a single constant in the object file, that multiple files could use to initialize a state structure. Since it's an embedded target with limited resources and the struct isn't that small, I don't want multiple copies of the source. I'd prefer not to use: #define foo_init { 1, 2, 3 } I'm also trying to write portable code, so I need a solution that's valid C89 or C99. Does this have to do with the ORGs in an object file? That initialized variables go into one ORG and are initialized by copying the contents of a second ORG? Maybe I'll just need to change my tactic, and have an initializing function do all of the copies at startup. Unless there are other ideas out there?

Corrupt output with an HttpModule

I have an HttpModule that looks at the query string for a parameter called "cmd" and executes one of a small set of predefined commands that display server stats in XML. For example, http://server01?cmd=globalstats. Now, on rare occasions, like once out of hundreds of times, I will get corrupt output like this:  <stats> <ServerName>SERVER01</ServerName> <StackName>Search</StackName> <TotalRequests>945</TotalRequests>  <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> ...the rest of the home page markup... (Remove the comments in the example above.) I'm not all that familiar with HttpModules and the IIS pipeline, but could this be a threading problem? Or, what else?
