Configuring BitLocker on existing Windows Server 2008
- by neildeadman
On our file server, we want to enable BitLocker so that we can encrypt a single drive and I know that we have to also encrypt the drive the system is installed on.
In my tests with VMs, I have to create a partition on the same disk as Windows is installed either before I install Windows or after (I can use the BitLocker Drive Preparation Tool).
This tool shrinks the C: drive to make way for a 1.5GB partition.
I'm a little concerned about doing this with a live system so wanted to see if it was possible to get BitLocker to use a partition on another drive?
