• Boost Audio Input on OS X?

  I'm using my 13" Mac Book Pro's audio input functionality with an external microphone (recent vintage, bought around Thanksgiving). I've increased my input volume to the maximum in system preference, but the resulting recorded volume (using iShowU HD) is very low. Is there anyway to increase the input volume/sensitivity beyond Apple's default settings? I've found plenty on google about increasing the OUTPUT volume, but I want to increase the input volume.

• Migrating SBS 2003 to 2011, and hangs when migrating Public Folders

  I've been following the migration guide at http://www.it-book.co.uk/1651/migration-from-sbs-2003-to-sbs-2011-3. The option "Migrate Exchange mailbox and settings" links me to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg563803.aspx When I get to the stage of right-clicking "Move All Replicas", it instantly hangs. I can't see anything specifically in the event viewer at the time this happens. Is this a case of waiting, or is there something more going on here?

  I'm thinking of getting the Dell UltraSharp U2311H monitor which apparently comes with a DisplayPort. (I used the word "apparently" because I find DisplayPort support a little bit too good to be true, coming from Dell. But great news nonetheless if it's really true) I plan to connect it to a Mac Book Pro (2010) via a mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable. Has anyone tried this setup? Does it work? Thanks.

  Hi all, Just today during a freak accident, a book got tossed onto my Samsung N120 netbook while it was open and the 'G' and 'T' key flew off. Part of the plastic underneath broke off. I managed to search the LDAP contacts from MS Outlook 2007 (with some drawbacks like Outlook cant recognize street and organization fields).   Does anyone have an idea or hack on how to source my local dotfiles (I will probably need more of them so this solution should work with many files) on remote machines without scp them to remote machine? Is something like scp .bashrc to /tmp folder on remote machine and then exporting BASHRC env variable the best solution? I need this because of our company policy and fast cloud servers deployment and redeployment and I don't want to touch .bashrc files on remote machine so my colleges are able to use their default env which doesn't suit me.

  I'm trudging through the Amazon docs for a quick answer, but while I'm looking I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask here. My client uses custom software that uses (wait for it) Microsoft Excel to store data as opposed a RDBMS.
