  • Question about implement air widget manager

    - by L.J.W
Hi all, I have a question about invoking air in air, please give me some advice. I want to use air technology in enterprise business, and I think widget manager(engine) like google desktop, vista sidebar is a good system entrypoint.so I look for a widget manager basing AIR,the widget manager can load air widget, and auto upgrade widget silently ,and have a cool user-interface like google desktop or vista sidebar or yahoo's. Any product existed and recommend?and if I need to implement myself, any idea or advice? How can I embed the widget interface into the manager(engine) interface seamless, how can I invoke the specified window(maybe not the init window) in the widget air application from the manager? Thanks and best regards

  • C++ Class Construction and Member Initialization

    - by anachoret
The first print shows the member value to be false, and the other two prints show it as true. Why does the first output differ from the last two? #include #include using namespace std; class MyClass { public: bool value; bool stuff; }; class Container { public: vector my_classes; Container() { MyClass c; cout

  • Where do you find images and graphics for your softwares ?

    - by ereOn
Hi, As a programmer, I'm sure some of you already experienced the same problem: You create a good software (free, open-source, or for friend-only diffusion, whatever) relying on good code and good ideas but since you're a programmer and not an image designer, your program looks just bad. While it seems pretty easy to find motivated developpers to join for free an open-source project, it seems quite hard to find a single free graphic designer. What free and good resources do you usually use for your programs/websites ? Do you have any cool tip that you're willing to share ?

  • Best way to use Cradle with Express.js (CouchDB, Node.js)

    - by Costa
I'm building my website ( http://tedxgramercy.jit.su ) with express.js and so far I've been using the http.request method in node to access couch, and that's been cool. I've learned lots about how http, couch, and node work, which is awesome. Anyways, I'm thinking of moving over to cradle now (Let me know if you have a strong opinion about this) and I'd like to know the "right" way to set this up. Should I... require() cradle and make a new connection to my db in each separate route? create my database connection once, and then just pass that connection by require()ing the connection in each route? (if so, how do I do that?) Thanks!!!

  • css displaying divs inside a Tr fine in FireFox, but IE increases the width of the row...

    - by Ronedog
I'm having some difficulty figuring out what is going on and how to fix it. I have some divs that contain some icons that are causing a width problem when displaying tabular data. If I remove the div's that contain the icons, the row width ends up the way I want it (See the firefox example below). Here's the view in Firefox which is what I want (notice the positioning of the icons circled in red, which is aligned on the same y coordinate, or thereabouts): Here's the view in IE7 (Notice what happens to the icons and the width of the grey line, which is the table row): Here's the HTML: <table> <tbody> <tr> <td> <span>stuff 1</span> <span>stuff 2</span> <div class="prop_edit"><img class="img_height14" src="edit.jpg"></div> <div class="prop_archive"><img class="img_height14" src="archive.jpg"></div> <div class="prop_delete"><img class="img_height14" src="delete.jpg"></div> <div style="display:none;"> <div>Links Here</div> </div> </td> </tr> </tbody> Heres the CSS: .prop_edit{ float:right; position: relative; top: 0px; right:50px; } .prop_archive{ float:right; position: relative; top: 0px; right:10px; } .prop_delete{ float:right; position: relative; top: 0px; right: -30px; } .img_height14{ height:14px; vertical-align:top; position:relative; } I've tried a bunch of different css things, but really am just hacking away hoping to figure something out. Anyone got some tips that could help me? Thanks in advance.

  • Which kind of changes can't I do with lightweight migration in Core Data?

    - by dontWatchMyProfile
I recently tried a lot of different stuff with lightweight migration. These all work: 1) Rename attributes (with renaming identifier specified) 2) Add attributes 3) Add new entity + new attribute + inverse relationship to an already existing entity 4) remove existing entity + relationships to that entity = It almost looks like just about anything can be handled with LM. Did I miss something? In which cases am I getting into trouble and need an some more complex approach?

  • Can I use the SharePoint 2010 SQL Database through SharePoint from my App?

    - by Michael Stum
I wonder if there is a supported way to access the SharePoint 2010 SQL Server through an API? I'm not talking about modifying any SharePoint Database directly (I know that that is still unsupported), but I'd like to store some data that my application needs, and instead of asking the user to enter a Connection String, I'd prefer to create my own database on the SQL Server that SharePoint uses. I think I could use the new Service Application stuff, but that seems a bit overkill?

  • Shakin' things up

    - by j-t-s
Hi All I have a little app here, and I would love to be able to do my own stuff in Vista/Win7 when I shake the form. Currently, when a form is shaken, it will restore/minimize everything else. But I want to change that behavior in my app only. So when my form is shaken, I could, for example, shuffle the playlist, or Clear the contents of a Canvas etc... Is this possible? Thank you

  • changing existing duplicate entries in mysql

    - by Mladen
sorry for the (probably) noob question, but I', new at this stuff. i have a table that has column 'position', and I want to, when inserting a new row, change positions of every row that has position lower than row that is inserted. for example, if I add row with position 4, if there is a duplicate, it should become 5, 5 should shift to 6 and so on... also, is there a way to get highest value for column besides testing it in every row via php?

  • Function to register functions to be called if event invoked.

    - by zaidwaqi
Hi, I have a Panel which contains 20 PictureBox controls. If a user clicks on any of the controls, I want a method within the Panel to be called. How do I do this? public class MyPanel : Panel { public MyPanel() { for(int i = 0; i < 20; i++) { Controls.Add(new PictureBox()); } } // DOESN'T WORK. // function to register functions to be called if the pictureboxes are clicked. public void RegisterFunction( <function pointer> func ) { foreach ( Control c in Controls ) { c.Click += new EventHandler( func ); } } } How do I implement RegisterFunction()? Also, if there are cool C# features that can make the code more elegant, please share. Thanks.

  • C++ IDE for OSX

    - by gprime
When i was at university i wrote a lot of C++. I primarily used either Visual Studio (at the time it was version 6) or VIM (if i was on linux) as an editor to write my code. Since i have graduate and have been working primarily in web programming i have stopped writing C++. Since i graduated i have also bought myself and started using my Mac exclusively. I am now starting to get back to my C++ coding (just for fun) and would like an opinion on good IDE's for Mac. I am currently using xCode which seems kinda cool because it has everything built into it. Do any of you have any other IDE's that you would suggest that i give a shot or should i just stick to xCode?

  • How do I call an upside down jQuery.slideDown()?

    - by Mark Rogers
In the web app I'm working on I want to do a little slide up notification, like on twitter or your desktop. jQuery's .slideDown does exactly what I want, but it's upside down. The .slideUp doesn't execute an upside down version of slideDown. Instead it hides stuff, like after your cleaning up an old message you've displayed with slideDown. So what's the simplest code to do an upside down slideDown() in jQuery?

  • Can entities be attached to an ISession that weren't previously attached?

    - by TheCloudlessSky
I'm playing around with NHibernate 3.0. So far things are pretty cool. I'm trying to attach an entity that wasn't detached previously: var post = new Post(){ Id = 2 } session.Update(post); // Thought this would work but it doesn't. post.Title = "New Title After Update"; session.Flush(); Is this possible so that only Title gets updated? This is currently possible in EntityFramework. I'd like to not have to load Post from the database when I just need to update a few properties.

  • Thread safety with heap-allocated memory

    - by incrediman
I was reading this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thread_safety Is the following function thread-safe? void foo(int y){ int * x = new int[50]; /*...do some stuff with the allocated memory...*/ delete x; } In the article it says that to be thread-safe you can only use variables from the stack. Really? Why? Wouldn't subsequent calls of the above function allocate memory elsewhere?

  • Save PHP variables to a text file

    - by Ajith
I was wondering how to save PHP variables to a txt file and then retrieve them again. Example: There is an input box, after submitted the stuff that was written in the input box will be saved to a text file. Later on the results need to be brought back as a variable. So lets say the variable is $text I need that to be saved to a text file and be able to retrieve it back again. Hope it makes sense, Thanks in advance!!!

  • Printing Variable names and contents as debugging tool; looking for emacs/Python shortcut

    - by Schof
I find myself adding debugging "print" statements quite often -- stuff like this: print("a_variable_name: %s" % a_variable_name) How do you all do that? Am I being neurotic in trying to find a way to optimize this? I may be working on a function and put in a half-dozen or so of those lines, figure out why it's not working, and then cut them out again. Have you developed an efficient way of doing that? I'm coding Python in Emacs.
