  I have some unit tests that need an X11 display so I plan to start Xvfb before running them, but to start Xvfb I will need a free display number to connect it to. My best guess is to see what's free in /tmp/.X11-unix but I'm not sure how to handle the race if many tests try to start simultaneously. sshd must do this, does anyone know how?

• Objects With No Behavior

  I've been teaching myself object oriented programming and I'm thinking about a situation where I have an object "Transaction", that has quite a few properties to it like account, amount, date, currency, type, etc. I never plan to mutate these data points, and calculation logic will live in other classes. My question is, is it poor Python design to instantiate thousands of objects just to hold data? I find the data far easier to work with embedded in a class rather than trying to cram it into some combination of data structures.

  I have an Entity Framework model using Table per Type Inheritance, but when I use a VS Data Generation Plan it produces duplicate keys in the child tables, which is a problem for EF. Does anyone know of a way to get this to work, so that the child tables do not have overlapping keys?

  As of Postgres 8.4 the database fts does not support exact phrase match, nor does it support proximity match if given 2 terms.   I'm learning C++ from scratch, and as such I don't have an expert understanding of C. In C++, you can't cast a void pointer to whatever, and I understand the reasons behind that.
