  • php - efficent way to get and remove first line in file

    Hello, I have a script that each time is called gets the 1st line of a file. Each line is known to be exactly of the same length (32 alphanumerci chars) and terminates with a "\r\n". After getting the 1st line, the script removes it. Now I do in this way: $contents = file_get_contents($file)); $first_line = substr($contents, 0, 32); file_put_contents($file, substr($contents, 32 + 2)); //+2 because we remove also the \r\n Obvioulsy it works, but I was wondering if there could be a smarter (or more efficent) way to do this??? In my simple solution I basically read and rewrite all the file just to take and remove the 1st line. Thanks!

  • Rendering Dragged object during drag

    Hello, I have been stuck on this problem for a while now. I want to drag a row in a jtable to reorder it. But I really want the user to see the row while dragging it and not just the default "drag" rectangle symbol. So I took a look at the java DnD tutorial finding it very useful, but.. The problem is that I still dont know which method I should override to get this going. Can somebody help me out?

  • Can I correctly debug assemblies loaded with the 'AssemblyResolve' event?

    I'm experimenting with the AppDomain's 'AssemblyResolve' event by hidding the depedencies for an executable file in another folder. The assemblies seem to beloading and executing fine, however debugging seems to be crazy, sometimes it hits my break points, sometimes it doesnt , and sometimes it hits the same code twice(It seems absurd but I'm sure the code is executing only once). I don't understanding how debuggers works but I guess it has something to do with the PDB files. Anyone got an idea of what might be happening and how can I fix it? Edit: Let me add that I'm calling methods on the dynamically loaded assemblies using reflection, sometimes the method I'm stepping over throws an exception that only pops at a later time.

  • Hibernate Unit tests - Reset schema

    Hi, I'm testing the CRUD operations of my DAOs in JUnit tests. When i execute the single test, Hibernate always resets the schema and populates the DB in a known state. But when i execute multiple tests in a row, Hibernate resets the schema once, and then the data is accumulated during the execution of the tests. This is an unexpected behavior, so I'd like to add in the @Before method of the tests a function that explicitly resets the schema to avoid the pesistence of side data created by previous tests during the execution chain. Any tips? Thanks

    I want to number certain combinations of row in a dataframe (which is ordered on ID and on Time) tc <- textConnection(' id time end_yn number abc 10 0 1 abc 11 0 2 abc 12 1 3 abc 13 0 1 def 10 0 1 def 15 1 2 def 16 0 1 def 17 0 2 def 18 1 3 ') test <- read.table(tc, header=TRUE) The goal is to create a new column ("journey_nr") that give a unique number to each row based on the journey it belongs to. Journeys are defined as a sequence of rows per id up until to end_yn == 1, also if end_ynnever becomes 1, the journey should also be numbered (see the expected outcome example). It is only possible to have end_yn == 0 journeys at the end of a collection of rows for an ID (as shown at row 4 for id 3). So either no end_yn == 1 has occured for that ID or that happened before the end_yn == 0-journey (see id == abc in the example). I know how to number using the data.table package, but I do not know which columns to combine in order to get the expected outcome. I've searched the data.table-tag on SO, but could not find a similar problem.     Hi, I'm new to the Ruby and Ruby on Rails world. I've read some guides, but i've some trouble with the following syntax. I think that the usage of :condition syntax is used in Ruby to define a class attribute with some kind of accessor, like: class Sample attr_accessor :condition end that implicitly declares the getter and setter for the "condition" property. While i was looking at some Rails sample code, i found the following examples that i don't fully understand. For example: @post = Post.find(params[:id]) Why it's accessing the id attribute with this syntax, instead of: @post = Post.find(params[id]) Or, for example: @posts = Post.find(:all) Is :all a constant here? If not, what does this code really means? If yes, why the following is not used: @posts = Post.find(ALL) Thanks

    Hi, I have a question about ruby and wsdl soap. I couldn't find a way to get each method's params and their type. For example, if I found out that a soap has a methods called "get_user_information" (using wsdlDriver) is there a way to know if this method requires some params and what type of params does it require (int, string, complex type, ecc..)? I'd like to be able to build html forms from a remote wsdl for each method... Sorry for my horrible English :D

  • Reference remotely located assembly (web uri) from locally installed application?

    Hi Stackoverflowers! :) We have a .NET application for Windows which is installed locally by Microsoft Installer. Now we have the need to use additional assemblies which are located online at our Web Servers. We'd like to refer to a remote uri like https://www.ourserver.com/OurProductName/ExternalLib.dll and reveal additional functionality, which is described roughly by a known common ("AddIn/Plugin") Interface. These are not 3rd Party Plugins, we just want be able to exchange parts of the application frequently, without the need to have frequent software updates. Our first idea was to add some kind of "remote refence" in Visual Studio by setting the path to the remote assembly uri. But Visual Studio downloaded the assembly immediately to a temporary directory, adding a reference to it. Our second attempt then, is simply using a WebRequest (or WebClient) to retrieve a binary stream of the Assembly, loading it "from image" by using Assembly.Load(...). This actually works, but is not very elegant and requires more additional programming for verification etc. We hoped Clickonce would provide useful techniques but apparently it's suitable for standalone applications only. (Correct me?) Is there a way (.net native or by framework/api) to reference remotely located assemblies? Thanks in advance and have a happy easter!

    I am trying to integrate my custom user system with Wordpress, and I have recently asked a question on how to redirect requests to wp-login.php to my own login/registration page, but as I was working on the pluggable functions, I realized that requests to wp-login.php can either be for login, registration, or log out. This is set in the action argument that's made in the request. What I am trying to figure out is how to get this action argument, so I can redirect the request to my custom pages.     I am working on a software product with an integrated log file viewer. Problem is, its slow and unstable for really large files because it reads the whole file into memory when you view a log file. I'm wanting to write a new log file viewer that addresses this problem. What are the best practices for writing viewers for large text files? How does editors like notepad++ and VIM acomplish this? I was thinking of using a buffered Bi-directional text stream reader together with Java's TableModel. Am I thinking along the right lines and are such stream implementations available for Java?

  • Is it possible to create a Mono bundle that includes WPF libraries?

    I know WPF libraries aren´t implemented by mono class library, however(as far as I know) the mono 2.6 runtime is fully compatible with the .NET 2.0/3.5 runtime, so if the WPF libraries only make PInvoke calls to windows api it is theoretically possible to run a wpf application on windows using the mono runtime. The reason for wanting that is deploying a wpf application as a standalone executable for windows. Has anyone tried something like that before? If so, what were the results?

    I am having a very weird problem that just came up and my guess it's that it may be easy to solve, I just can't seem to figure out. in my layout/application.html.haml, I have the following: = javascript_include_tag :all Rather than RoR translating this to a lot of script-loading lines, it does the following: <script src="/beta/assets/all.js" type="text/javascript"></script> similarly, with defaults I get: <script src="/beta/assets/defaults.js" type="text/javascript"></script> What should I look for? or what I am missing?     I am listing all FK constraints for a given table using INFORMATION_SCHEMA set of views with the following query: SELECT X.UNIQUE_CONSTRAINT_NAME, "C".*, "X".* FROM "INFORMATION_SCHEMA"."KEY_COLUMN_USAGE" AS "C" INNER JOIN "INFORMATION_SCHEMA"."REFERENTIAL_CONSTRAINTS" AS "X" ON "C"."CONSTRAINT_NAME" = "X"."CONSTRAINT_NAME" AND "C"."TABLE_NAME" = 'MY_TABLE' AND "C"."TABLE_SCHEMA" = 'MY_SCHEMA' Everything works perfectly well, but for one particular constraint the value of UNIQUE_CONSTRAINT_NAME column is wrong, and I need it in order to find additional information from the referenced Column. Basically, for most of the rows the UNIQUE_CONSTRAINT_NAME contains the name of the unique constraint (or PK) in the referenced table, but for one particular FK it is the name of some other unique constraint. I dropped and re-created the FK - did not help. My assumption is that the meta-data is somehow screwed. Is there a way to rebuild the meta data so that the INFORMATION_SCHEMA views would actually show the correct data?

I think yes because I'm not distributing the server application The client uses an communication library licensed under LGPL. Can I make changes to this library? Yes, as long as I provide the source of the library with the client software Can I take only certain parts of an LGPL licensed software and make a new project? Yes if it's licensed under LGPL too.
