• Using ObservableCollection in ASP.NET

  I need to use functionality that ObservableCollection provides, in my asp.net app. My only concern is that this class is a part of WindowsBase assembly and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to include a windows assembly in a web project. Any ideas/comments? Thanks!

  I want to use the Publish.GacRemove function to remove an assembly from GAC. However, I don't understand what path I should pass as an argument. Should it be a path to the original DLL (what if I removed it after installing it in the GAC?) or the path to the assembly in the GAC? UPDATE: I finally used these API wrappers.

• SSL configuration

  I am trying to setup the ssl_requirement plugin. For my users controller I would like to require ssl for new and create. When I open users/new the browser redirects to https but I get an unable to connect error message. The application error log says : Filter chain halted as [:ensure_proper_protocol] rendered_or_redirected. I am not sure if I have configured the plugin incorrectly or if I made an error with the nginx configuration.

• Spawning in Rails

  Hello, I was using the spawn plugin (http://rubyforge.org/projects/spawn/) which worked excellent. However, I then moved to Mongo (using mongo_mapper) and Spawn no longer worked. Modifying the plugin is beyond the scope of my abilities. Is there a simple way to do spawning in Rails that would work with Mongo? It's not an often-run process so it doesn't have to be the most elegant solution in the world. Thanks!

  I've seen alot of JQuery implementations of existent JavaScript functions that merely wrap the JavaScript code in a JQuery wrapper and don't actually rely on any of JQuery's base for their operation. What are the benefits of using Javascript as a JQuery plugin? If there are none is there a speed loss to use a JQuery plugin that could have easily been implemented outside the wrapper just as well? • Can you mix .NET framework Versions in a solution?

  Our codebase where I work is .NET 2.0. For our new assembly/DLLs/web applications I would love to take advantage of what 3.5 has to offer. Can one mix .NET frameworks(per assembly) in a solution?
