Visual Studio 2010 is here! And of course this means that C# 4.0 is also here. Lets do a quick review of the new language features added in this release. • The only constant is change

Isaac Asimov was once quoted as saying The only constant is change. That has certainly been true of my time with the DotNetNuke project. Over the last seven years of working on the DotNetNuke project and working at DotNetNuke Corporation I have held a number of different roles within the organization. I have defined and coded major product features, built and managed the DotNetNuke Marketplace, managed the release process, managed both OpenForce Conferences, oversaw the QA function, and created...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • Crystal Reports: 3 New Uses For Sub Reports

I hate sub reports and always consider them the last resort in any reporting solution. The negative effect on performance and maintainability is just not worth the easy ride they give the report writer. Nine times out of ten reporting requirements can be met using a little forethought and planning (and a solid understanding of formulas). With that said, there are a few novel ways of using sub reports which will not affect performance and actually prove a boon to the developer.Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • Open XML at TechEd 2010

Open XML was a big part of my first session at TechEd 2010 called, "Office 2010: Developing the Next Wave of Productivity Solutions". The thing that gets the biggest reaction is the Open XML SDK 2.0 "Productivity Tool"-- especially the ability to reflect over an Office document to produce C# code that will produce the target document. Here's the scenario: I have a Word document (Excel spreadsheet, PowerPoint deck) that a user produced manually. • Sending JSON to an ASP.NET MVC Action Method Argument

Javier G Money Lozano, one of the good folks involved with C4MVC, recently wrote a blog post on posting JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) encoded data to an MVC controller action. In his post, he describes an interesting approach of using a custom model binder to bind sent JSON data to an argument of an action method. Unfortunately, his sample left out the custom model binder and only demonstrates how to retrieve JSON data sent from a controller action, not how to send the JSON to the action method....Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? First, off, if you hit the page remotely, its going to hide the real details.  It will look something like this: Server Error 500 - Internal server error. There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. Checking the IIS logs will show that its a 500.50 error in this case.
