  • MVC actionlink posting List of complex type

    I have an actionlink that on click im passing a List of objects to a controller action. Example: View: Html.ActionLink("TestLink", "TestMethod", "Test", Model.SampleList, null) TestController: public ActionResult TestMethod(List sampleList) { return View(sampleList); } When I do this I get a null sampleList. I can pass a single complex object fine just not a collection of it. Do I need the correct routing for this? The reason I'm doing this is instead of passing an id and do a look up in the controller action, I just pass in the data.

  • jQuery Validate Plugin overwrite my select onChange postback

    Hi, I'm creating this form (.net) where i have a select with a postback, that will trigger a action depending on which option i select. I'm trying to use the jQuery Validate Plugin (plugin website) to validate my form. My problem is, when i validate the form, and my select is marked as invalid, the validation plugin overwrite it's onChange method to make it unmark when i change the value, the thing is that it's deleting my __dopostback from the onchange, making the form 'useless'. Is there a way to the plugin validate my selects without deleting my postback action from the onchange?

    first I need to say that I´m noob with WPF and C#. I created a new Thread (because GUI dont response) for the calculation of the pixels and the colors. In this Thread(Mehtod) I´m using the Dispatcher to Refresh my Image in the ViewBox after the calculations are ready. When I´m dont put the calculation in a seperate Thread then I can refresh or build my Image.

  • Localization with separate Language folders within Views

    I'm trying to have specific folders for each language in Views. (I know this isn't the best way of doing it but it has to be this way for now) e.g. /Views/EN/User/Edit.aspx /Views/US/User/Edit.aspx These would both use the same controller and model but have different Views for each language. In my Global.asax.cs I have routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{language}/{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { language = "en", controller = "Logon", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional }, // Parameter defaults new { language = @"en|us" } // validation ); This works ok but always points to the same View. If I put the path to the Lanagugage folder it works return View("~/Views/EN/User/Edit.aspx"); but clearly this isn't a very nice way to do it. Is there anyway to get MVC to look in the correct language folder? Thanks and again I know this isn't the best way of doing Localization but I can't use resource files.

  • Serialized form fields in Ruby on Rails problem

    I'm having a problem making serialized columns in my model persist correctly in forms. If my model validation fails I want to redisplay the "new" page with all my model data still in the forms. Right now, everything except the serialized fields seem to persist (if my Order fails to purchase, on the "new" page the email is still filled in but the shipping address fields are not). Is this a Rails bug or am I doing something wrong?   • 'button_to' gives me an ugly URL!

    Im trying to get an 'add to cart' button to work. When I use <%= button_to "Add to Cart", :acton = "add_to_cart", :id = @product % and then click the button, I get a URL that puts the action after the ID, like this: 'http://localhost:3000/store/show/1?acton=add_to_cart.' The cart page does not load. What I need is a URL that looks like this: 'http://localhost:3000/store/add_to_cart/1'. I can get that result (and the cart to work) if I don't use 'button_to': <% form_for @product, :url = {:action = "add_to_cart", :id = @product} do |f| % <% end % But, what the heck? Why can't I use 'button_to'?

  • alt-tab sort of web design

    I am thinking of designing a web site having multiple related services. For every action of the user in a service there will be some computation going on in each of the other services. I want to display the service in action (chosen by the user) in the middle of the page in enlarged mode and rest of the services as small sized (shrunk) versions around the enlarged mode. The services which are shown in the shrunk version, should actually show what is happening in that service, at run time as if that was the chosen service. A close match to this sort of behavior I know is in Reliance BigTV, where all the small images of all the channels will be going on, and we can choose the one that we want to watch. After choosing that one image will become big and occupy the screen. Please, let me know if I can do some thing like this using css, html, ajax & php.

    Hello I am about to create my first proper application in ASP.NET MVC3. It is basically a jobs site with 3 levels: 1) Users - No registration and can view all jobs posted on the website 2) Posters - Need to register and login to post adverts 3) Admin - Need to register and login to post adverts and review postings before they go live Would you suggest I use the same Jobs controller for the three levels I mention above? With a LIST action to show jobs to "Users" and a CREATE & EDIT action for the "Posters" & "Admin"? Thanks Paul

  • How to perform different operations within Observer's update() in Java?

    I just started playing with Observable, Observer and it's update() method and I can't understand what should I do when different actions call notifyObservers(). I mean, my Observable class has a few different methods that call setChanged() and notifyObservers() in the end. Depending on the called method, some part of the UI (Swing) needs to be updated. However, there is only one update() method implemented in the Observer class. I though of passing something to the notifyObservers() method and then I can check the argument on update() but it doesn't seem feel like a good way to do it. Even if it did, what should I pass? A string with a short description of the action/method? And int, like an action/method code? Something else? What's the best way to handle this situation?

How would I get around this issue in the most elegant way? My current idea is to put the stuff from the Index controlleraction in a [NonAction] and call that method from both the Index action and in the CreateUser action, but I have a feeling there must be a better way.     I'm done some Googling, and I've found nothing. I'm scoping out writing a plugin for an editor I use, and I am wondering whether there is a way I can access the PHP documentation via an API? For instance, I'd like to get raw access to the information (besides the comments) located here: http://php.net/file_exists. php.net seemingly uses MediaWiki which provides an API. The tutorial provides the example URL, http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=login&format=xml. This does not work for php.net, however (http://php.net/w/api.php?action=login&format=xml). I'm just looking for a little information on how to interface with the PHP documentation.

  • Preserve data in .net mvc

    I am implementing a search module with result page support paging. The example provided by NerdDinner passes pagenumber as a parameter for the Index action, and the action uses the pagenumber to perform a query each time the user hit a different page number. My problem is that my search take many more criteria such as price, material, model number etc. than just simple pagenumber. Therefore, I would like to preserve the criteria after users' first submission, so that I only have to pass the pagenumber back and forth. Using ViewData is not possible because ViewData get cleared once it is sent to the View. Is there any good way to preserve the criteria data as I wish?

  • Routing zend request through a default controller when controller not found.

    Below is a function defined in my Bootstrap class. I must be missing something fundamental in the way Zend does routing and dispatching. What I am trying to accomplish is simple: For any request /foo/bar/* that is not dispatchable for any reason try /index/foo/bar/. The problem I'm having is when the FooController exists I get Action "foo" does not exist. Another problem with Firefox is that requests to /Home/Refresh are made every second not every 5 seconds. I noticed that after I clear Firefox cache the script works well first time button1 is pressed, but after that it doesn't work. I would be grateful for helpful suggestions.

    Hi, Has anybody used the Patterns in Action from the Do Factory? I just have a question on the architecture. I always thought that the service must call the repository. In the solution the have ActionService and a repository. Lets say I want to get all the customers then in my controller I would call the repository's GetCustomers method. This will then call ActionService's GetCustomer's method. And then lastly another GetCustomers method is called in the customer data access object. Is this right? Any comments on the way that they implemented things in the Patterns in Action?

  • Huge amount of time sending data with suds and proxy

    Hi everyone, I have the following code to send data through a proxy using suds: import suds t = suds.transport.http.HttpTransport() proxy = urllib2.ProxyHandler({'http': 'http://192.168.3.217:3128'}) opener = urllib2.build_opener(proxy) t.urlopener = opener ws = suds.client.Client('http://xxxxxxx/web.asmx?WSDL', transport=t) req = ws.factory.create('ActionRequest.request') req.SerialNumber = 'asdf' req.HostName = 'hola' res = ws.service.ActionRequest(req) I don't know why, but it can be sending data above 2 or 3 minutes, or even more and it raises a "Gateway timeout" exception sometimes. If I don't use the proxy, the amount of time used is above 2 seconds or less. Here is the SOAP reply: (ActionResponse){ Id = None Action = "Action.None" Objects = "" } The proxy is running right with other requests through urllib2, or using normal web browsers like firefox. Does anyone have any idea what's happening here with suds? Thanks a lot in advance!!!
