• eclipse: want to view a css file but get "Cannot create extension" error

• Why are pieces of my HTML showing up on the page and breaking it? Is it PHP related?

  I've been building a site in PHP, HTML, CSS, and using a healthy dose of jQuery javascript. The site looks absolutely fine on my Mac browsers, but for some reason, when my client uses PC Safari, she's seeing strange bits of my HTML show up on the page. Here are some (small) screenshot examples: Figure 1: This one is just a closing </li> tag that should've been on the Media li element. Not much harm done, but strange. Figure 2: Here this was part of <div class='submenu'> and since the div tag didn't render properly, the entire contents of that div don't get styled correctly by CSS. Figure 3: This last example shows what should have been <a class='top current' href=... but for some reason half of the HTML tag stops being rendered and just gets printed out. So the rest of that list menu is completely broken. Here's the code from the header.php file itself.   I've been adding a bit of animation to my WPF application. Thanks to Dan Crevier's unique solution to animating the children of a panel combined with the awesome WPF Penner animations it turned out to be fairly straightforward to make one of my controls look great and have its children move about with some nice animation. Unfortunately this all comes with a performance overhead. I'm happy to have the performance hit when items are added/removed or the control is resized, but it seems that this perf hit occurs consistently throughout the application's lifetime, even when items are completely static. The PanelLayoutAnimator class uses an attached property to hook the UIElement.LayoutUpdated.aspx) event. When this event fires, render transforms are animated to cause the children to glide to their new positions. Unfortunately it seems that the LayoutUpdated event fires every second or so, even when nothing is happening in the application (at least I don't think my code's doing anything -- the app doesn't have focus and the mouse is steady.) As the reason for the event is not immediately apparent to the event handler, all children of the control have to be reevaluated. This event is being called about once a second when idle. The frequency increases when actually using the app. So my question is, how can I improve the performance here? Any answer that assists would be appreciated, but I'm currently stuck on these sub-questions: What causes the LayoutUpdated event to fire so frequently? Is this supposed to happen, and if not, how can I find out why it's firing and curtail it? Is there a more convenient way within the handler to know whether something has happened that might have moved children? If so, I could bail out early and avoid the overhead of looping each child. For now I will work around this issue by disabling animation when there are more than N children in the panel.

  I am working on a WPF application (a one note clone which is called "note your life") where you can dynamically assign Tags to an entry (just as in virtually any web 2.0 app these days). for this I had in my windows forms prototype a FlowLayoutPanel that did the job very well. I want to have the tags float to the next line if there isn't enough space and get a scrollbar if needed. how can this be achieved with WPF? I played around with <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal" FlowDirection="LeftToRight" ...> but this doesn't move the elements in the next line if needed. Any suggestions?

• Need help understanding WPF MeasureOverride and ArrangeOverride infinity and 0 sizes

  I'm trying to build a simple panel that contains one child and will snap it to nearest grid sizes. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to do this by overriding MeasureOverride and ArrangeOverride. Here's what I'm after: I want my panel to tell its owner that (a) it wants to be as large as possible, then (b) when it finds out what that size is, it will size itself and its child UIElement according to the nearest smaller snap point. So if we're snapping to 10's, and I can be in a region no bigger than 192x184, the panel will tell its parent container "my actual size is going to be 190x180". That way anything bordering my control will be able to align to its edges, as opposed to the potential space. When I put my panel inside of a Grid, I get either 0 or PositiveInfinity (I forget) for the incoming size in the overrides, but what I need to know is "how big can my space actually get?" not infinities.. Part of the problem I think is what WPF considers magic values of PositiveInfinity and 0 for size. I need a way to say, via MeasureOverride "I can be as big as you will allow me" and in ArrangeOverride to actually size to the snapped size. Or am I going about this the completely wrong way? Measuring and arranging looks very complicated, just from wandering around a little in the code for the standard panels in Reflector.

• IE8 Fixed Header, scrollable GridView

  I know this topic has been asked, but the posts are all out of date, or not functional on IE8. In brief we basically want to do the excel style locking of column headers in a GridView. I have seen a couple of solutions one jquery+ css(setExpression) which doesn't work in IE8. And another that uses ajax extensions, yet again doesn't work in IE8. • how does scrolling in android listview work?

  hi, i have an android-app with a listview in an activity. the listview has, if i call it so, three data states. no data loaded from inet - only one dummy item is visible, saying that data is loading data is loaded and shown in list one listitem is clicked and now shows more information for this listitem (so it is increased in its height) on every state change (1 - 2, 2 - 3) i call notifyDataSetChanged() on this ListAdapater. this causes the listview to scroll down to the last item. this is ugly in the first transition and even more ugly in the second because the clicked list item is now out of focus. as i can see, this happens with a google g1 with android 1.6. a htc touch with the same sdk acts like desired (i try to figure it out with some more devices). to avoid this i tried to read out getScrollY() and set this value back. but this returns 0. the reason for this return value i already found on stackoverflow in other qutestions. does anyone else comes along with my problem so far? why does the listview scrolls to the last item? it was mentioned, that listview does keep track on the scroll position. but it seems that it does not in my case. or may i call the wrong refresh method? is notifyDataSetChanged the correct one?

The the gesture detector wont recognize a swipe if you swipe on the list view. But it will recognize it if it is onTop of TextView's or ImageView's. Is there a way to implement it so that it will recognize the swipes even if they are on top of another view that has a ClickListener?

• Android ScrollView Not Scrolling Correctly

  I've been making my way through thenewboston's android tutorials and I'm stuck on number 35. There is supposed to be a scroll bar that takes up a weight of 30 at the top of the app. There are 6 textview/edittext field groups in the code, but I deleted 5 for simplicity. My problem is that all of the text and text boxes appear on the page and are not confined to the given weight (they all just show up on the page). Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? Please, I'm new to stackoverflow. If you think this is a stupid question, please explain to me why and how I can ask it better. • How to grey out spinner in Android?

  I use two Spinner in my App. One of them is initially disabled because I need the user to select something in the first spinner to load the content of the second one. I would like to change the design of the second spinner to show the user that the spinner is not active, eg. grey the spinner out. How can I achieve this? If this is not possible how would you change this dialog to make it clear to the user that she has to select something in the first spinner?

• IE dropdown z-index bug

  I'm having a problem with a dropdown menu under IE (6 and 7). http://www.amaconsulting.pl/promocje.html As you can see, the dropdown hides behind the main content area in IE. It's a known bug and general advice is to set a z-index for header and content areas, so IE knows their "place", explained in the article here: http://bit.ly/coSPcI I've set the z-index of .header div to 20 and .featured, .content, .primary, .main to 1, trying to find the right div to fix the problem. While the dropdown stopped hiding behind the .featured div, it still hides behind the main content divs (either .primary or .main, .secondary is fine). The z-indexes for these divs are set in a separate stylesheet, ie.css, in case someone'll be looking for them. If someone could provide some advice, I'd be very grateful.

  So right now I'm bashing my head - at the moment we use an element for a button to give it our own custom font, fine - this works, but as we're using Cufon on the rest of the site, we're wondering if it's possible to get Cufon working on a button. So far I've changed the button to an and using standard css styles on an 'input' or 'input[type="submit"]' element work fine - but I've tried both of these in cufon to no avail. This is a button - so as Cufon generates images, this should work, but maybe I'm doing it wrong - can anyone help?

  Hi Android gurus, I have a ViewFlipper for which I want a listener to fire when the child displayed is changed. I have set an OnFocusChangeListener to the ViewFlipper but it never fires when I flip from child 0 to child 1 or vice-versa. The ViewFlipper contains two RelativeLayouts and I have tried setting OnFocusChangeListeners for those but I get a ClassCastException when I try to set it. • JQuery IE7 Z-Index Bug

  I built a Jquery dropdown menu using this tutorial: http://noupe.indexsite.org/tutorial/drop-down-menu-jquery-css.html It works across browsers except for IE7 (shooooocking). There seems to be a z-index sorting problem and the drop down menu shows up under all of my other JQuery elements. Im not sure how to set the z-index so that it shows up on top. I have thoroughly googled the issue and it seems to be related to multiple 'position:relative' elements. I've messed with it for a few hours but I can't seem to sort it out. I have already tried defining z-index for all the different page elements but it doesn't seem t help the situation.
