• How do you adjust the frame or vertical alignment of a UIBarButtonItem contained by a UIToolbar inst

  Horizontal positioning of UIBarButtonItems is no problem, I can simply pad the space with fixed/flexible space items. However, I can't seem to adjust the toolbar item vertically. UIToolbar has no alignment property, and UIBarButtonItem has no way of setting its frame. I need to do this because we're using a mix of custom icons created using initWithImage, and standard icons created with initWithBarButtonSystemItem. The custom icons aren't being centered properly (they're offset upwards, relative to the system icons, which are centered properly), so the toolbar looks awkward.

• iPhone vertical toggle switch

  I'm trying to create a vertical toggle switch control for the iPhone (along the lines of UISwitch but vertical sliding). I was wondering whether an existing control already existed or if there are any good tutorials that explain the basics of creating custom controls for the iPhone. Currently I've tried using affine transforms to create the vertical switch from a basic UIswitch, and it works except that the slider is too small compared to the slider track, thus I'm looking for information on writing custom controls. Any direction is much appreciated.

  I have created a custom Treeview control and am trying to access the HierarchicalDataTemplate resource of this control from another window in the same project. I have placed <ResourceDictionary Source="/Controls/TreeView/Themes/Generic.xaml"/> into my App.xaml file. Everytime I run, I get an error saying that it can not find the resource key "scene" - the name of the HierarchicalDataTemplate from my custom control. How can I access this template? Thanks

  I'm using a custom pixel font on the iPad SDK, and I'm trying to find a way to disable font anti-aliasing for UIFont. Pixel fonts usually work best when they don't have Anti-aliasing. I disable it easily in Photoshop when I create static resources, but this time I need a dynamic output with the custom font. Any ideas? Thanks.

  I would like to disable 404 errors from appearing in my Apache error logs. The reason for this is that I have a custom page that handles 404 errors, performing any necessary redirects. If no valid redirect is found in this 404 page, then a nice page appears and the url and other information are logged by the script. Because of this, I do not need 404 errors in my Apache error log. Is there any way to just disable 404s short of doing a custom pipe?

• jQuery tools modal overlay display problem in IE6-8

  I'm trying to enable the overlay to be modal. It works perfectly fine in FireFox, but the window object is behind the mask when it becomes modal. This prevents any interaction with it and the page is actually useless. I've tried debugging this for a while and can't figure it out.   I have created a custom style and template for MenuItem and ContextMenu, and for my first level, that works great, but whenever I add a SubMenu item, the style of that ContextMenu reverts back to the default style. When scrolling the table on my iPhone the tables scrolling motion is slightly jerky, its not as smooth as other tableviews!   I have a custom timer that extends android.os.CountDownTimer. I have a test in the test project (standard Android/Eclipse project config) that tests the custom Timer. When I try to run this test, I get a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: android/os/CountDownTimer at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:698) You get the idea. Can I not run code that references android code code in junit test?

• How do you embed XHTML into APT file when using Maven to generate a site?

  I am using maven to generate a website for a Java project, which uses APT "Almost Plain Text" as a wiki like markup. Maven takes this and turns it into XHTML. I already have a custom template/skin that I am using for the site, but the index page will have a couple of extra custom design elements that are beyond the capabilities of APT.
