  • ASP.NET Nested masterpages, how to set content in the top page from the aspx file?

    I have some content from a CMS that I need to move to raw asp.net pages. Since the templates are nested I guess I can use nested masterpages to acomplish it, but I'm finding that I can't set values on the top masterpage from the deep child page. Here is a sample. I have several nested masterpages with contentplaceholders: top master (with contentPlaceHolder1) nested master, dependent on top master (with contentPlaceHolder2) aspx page, dependent on nested master, defines content for contentPlaceHolder1 and 2 The problem is that asp.net doesn't allow me to have the value of contentPlaceHolder1 defined in the content page, it should be defined in the nested master. But the point is that the client page knows that value, not the template masters (for instance, the page knows about the graphic it has to display on the the top, but the placeholder for the graphic is the top master). How can I set values in the aspx page to be rendered in the top master?

  • Set maven to use archiva repositories WITHOUT using activeByDefault?

    I am very close to finally having a working setup with archiva and maven. The last thing that's really boggling me, is how to set up my internal and snapshot repositories - without using a profile which contains activeByDefault set to true. I am using a SUPER super pom - a company-wide pom which contains distributionManagement information for releases. I was thinking that I could specify the repositories in this pom, and configure the authentication settings in settings.xml? Can I use repositories tag without a profile? There should be no "profile" for my internal and snapshot repositories, as they will never change... What I'm trying to steer clear from, is using a "default" profile, which is active all the time. I hear activeByDefault is NOT a best practice and I don't intend to use it. With that said, how should I go about doing this? My internal repo is a mirror of the maven central repo, so I would like to lock down my developers to ONLY use our internal artifact server. Remember - I do NOT want a profile with activeByDefault set to true. I cannot stress this enough! Should I use Maven mirrors? Should I "add" additional repositories? If I take the repositories tag instead of the mirrors tag, will maven force builds to use ONLY my archiva settings, instead of the default maven central? Or is what I seek to accomplish able to be done using only the mirrors tag in maven? I know how to configure repo credentials when using repositories tag, but not with mirrors. How is this done? Is providing credentials for anything in mirrors tags the same as for anything in repositories tags? Am I missing something obvious? I've had it up to here with getting things up and running using maven. I know it will be worthwhile in the end, but it is surely causing me a ton of aggravation and resources seem to be sparse. Either that, or people are content using it however they please without regard to best-practices. Thank you

    Hi, I have a shared library libtest.so which will be loaded into the the main program using dlopen. Function test() reside in libtest.so and will be called in the main program through dlsym. Is there any way I could set up a break point on test? Please note that the main programm has not been linked to libtest.so during linking time. Otherwise , I should be able to set the break point although it is a pending action. In my case, when I do b test, gdb will tell me Function "test" not defined.

  • If Possible, How Can One Set Either a Background Color on Cells within a Sizer or Gridlines for the

    I am flailing about with wxWidgets, in particular, the wx.Sizer in wxPython. I have read the documents, I have a copy of wXPython in Action before me, and have set aside the problem to work on other things a better mental model of sizers hopefully gestated within my skull. None of this has worked. I am not grokking, or even getting to the point where I can bang about usefully, how sizers work. In HTML, I could at least set a background color on some div or td, or call forth borders so I could see how things are laid out. Here, I have a grey expanse and no idea which of the nested static box sizers from which it originates. I am giving static box sizers after making a mess out of the grid bag sizers. Either alternative would let me at least get a handle on how these work.

Is there an easier way to do this than to create a custom "inserter" iterator? such that I could do something like: std::set<Id> resultSet; set_difference( idToStringMap.begin(), idToStringMap.end(), idToDoubleMap.begin(), idToDoubleMap.end(), resultSet.begin() ); My experimentation results imply that it will be necessary to create a custom inserter and perhaps a custom key comparer to do this, but I want for some insight/shortcut before doing so.

I am working on an ASP.NET MVC application where each user may have own culture setting specified in his/her account data. When the user logs in, the culture setting is retrieved from the database and has to be set as current culture. My worry is that setting the current culture on the current thread may affect another user request reusing this thread. I am even more concerned reading this: ASP.NET not only uses a thread pool, but may switch threads during request processing.

    I've noticed that if I use the text-to-columns feature with comma as the delimiter, any comma-delimited data I paste into Excel after that will be automatically split into columns. This makes me think Excel must have some kind of global delimiter. If this is true, how would I set this global delimiter using Excel VBA? Is it possible to do this directly, or do I need to "trick" Excel by doing a text-to-columns on some junk data, then delete the data? My ultimate goal is to be able to paste in a bunch of data from different files using a macro, and have Excel automatically split it into columns according to the delimiter I set.

    I have a table with a "SortID" column that is numbered using consecutive numbers. Whenever a row is deleted, it leaves a gap. Is there a way using pure SQL to update the rows with their row number? Something like this: UPDATE tbl SET SortID={rowindex} ORDER BY SortID (I realize this isn't valid SQL, that's why I'm asking for help) This should set the first row to #1, the second row to #2... etc. Is this possible using SQL? Please forgive the poorly worded question, I'm not really sure the best way to ask this. :)

  • GWT application throws an exception when run on Google Chrome with compiler output style set to 'OBF

    I'd like to know if you guys have faced the same problem I'm facing, and how you are dealing with it. Sometimes, a small and harmless change in a Java class ensues strange errors at runtime. These errors only happen if BOTH conditions below are true: 2) the application is run on Google Chrome, and 1) the GWT JavaScript compiler output style is set to 'OBF'. So, running the application on Firefox or IE always works. Running with the output style set to 'pretty' or 'detailed' always works, even on Google Chrome. Here's an example of error message that I got: "((TypeError): Property 'top' of object [object DOMWindow] is not a function stack" And here's what I have: - GWT 1.5.3 - GXT 1.2.4 - Google Chrome 4 and 5 - Windows XP In order to get rid of this Heisenbug, I have to either deploy my application without obfuscation or endure a time-consuming trial-and-error process in which I re-implement the change in slightly different ways and re-run the application, until the GWT compiler is happy with my code. Would you have a better idea on how to avoid this?

    I'm trying to create a form using Cakephp's FormHelper class. The form needs to have a name and and an id. I fail to see an option for that however. Looking at the documentation for the Formhelper, I see a lot of things, but not a way to set name and option. It's not in the source for the Formhelper either. How are these values set? Cakephp v1.2 is the version of cake i'm running here EDIT: the form is being submitted to an external destination. It is not a form associated with any model in the app.

    I am implementing CodeMirror (http://marijn.haverbeke.nl/codemirror/) on a page where document.domain needs to be declared (because of other IFRAMES on the page). CodeMirror generates a dynamic IFRAME to provide syntax highlighted code editing. The problem is that IE throws up 'Access Denied' (other browsers are fine) at the following piece of code mirror code: this.win = frame.contentWindow; ... var doc = this.win.document; <-- ERROR doc.open(); doc.write(html.join("")); doc.close(); It turns out IE doesn't inherit document.domain from parent IE. I can set document.domain in the IFRAME contents but IE throws up the error before I can even set the contents. Any ideas how to tackle this problem?

  • How do I set up the Clojure classpath in Emacs after installing with ELPA?

    I'm trying to add paths to my classpath in the Clojure REPL that I've set up in Emacs using ELPA. Apparently, this isn't the $CLASSPATH environment variable, but rather the swank-clojure-classpath variable that Swank sets up. Because I used ELPA to install Swank, Clojure, etc., there are a ton of .el files that take care of everything instead of my .emacs file. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how to change the classpath now. I've tried using (setq 'swank-clojure-extra-classpaths (list ...)) both before and after the ELPA stuff in my .emacs, and I've tried adding paths directly to swank-clojure-classpath in .emacs, .emacs.d/init.el, and .emacs.d/user/user.el, but nothing works. What I'm ultimately trying to do is to add both the current directory "." and the directory in which I keep my Clojure programs. I'm assuming swank-clojure-classpath is the thing I need to set here.   • Put stored procedure result set into a table-- any shortcuts besides INSERT INTO...EXEC?

    Hi everyone, I'm creating a temp table that's the result of a stored procedure's result set. Right now I'm using the create table statement, followed by insert into....exec. It gets the job done but I was curious if there are other ways of going about this? I wish it were possible to run a select into, with the stored procedure's result set serving the role of the select statement, so that I wouldn't have to write a create statement beforehand (so that if the stored proc's columns change, there wouldn't be any modifications needed.) If there are other ways to go about this that might fit my needs better I'd love to hear about them. Thanks very much.

  • How do I set libavcodec to use 4:2:2 chroma when encoding MPEG-2 4:2:2 profile?

    I have a project using libavcodec (ffmpeg). I'm using it to encode MPEG-2 video at 4:2:2 Profile, Main Level. I have the pixel format PIX_FMT_YUV422P selected in the AVCodecContext, however the video output I'm getting has all the colours wrong, and looks to me like the encoder is incorrectly reading the buffers as though it thinks it is 4:2:0 chroma rather than 4:2:2.     How can I set a ringtone for an individual contact on Android ? I have found a way to set the default ringtone that applies to all contacts without an individual ringtone. But that is not what i'm trying to accomplish. I want the application to have a button "Apply ringtone to contact". When i click, I start an activityForResult displaying a list of all contacts on the phone. When a contact is selected, the contact activity closes and returns with a uri to the contact. Now all the app needs to do is to apply the selected ringtone to that spesific contact. The code for displaying and selecting contacts by an activity is already implemented and seems to work on with the app. Its only the last part left, and I have no clue about how to solve this. Any help would be usefull.

    I am using JSF 2.0 and attempting to pass values between different pages in my App. The setup is as follows: I have a page called userSelect that has a backing bean userSelectBacking. On this page I display a list of users that can be selected and submit using an h:commandbutton, when the page is submit the navigation goes to a userEdit page. I have a page called userEdit, that has a backing bean userEditBacking which displays the information for a user and allows that user to be edited. I would like to pass the user selected from the userSelect page into the userEdit page. I am currently using f:setPropertyActionListener to set the user in my userEdit backing from the userSelect page, however when I navigate to the userEdit page, it loses the information I set. is there a way that I can pass the values between the two pages/backing beans? thanks

    I've set up a script that basically does a large-scale find-and-replace on a plain text document. At the moment it works fine with ASCII, UTF-8, and UTF-16 (and possibly others, but I've only tested these three) encoded documents so long as the encoding is specified inside the script (the example code below specifies UTF-16). These points reside within the volume, V(cage), of some larger sphere, where V(cage) V(ball). Provided the set of impassible coordinates, Sc, is there a computationally efficient and/or nice way to determine if the ball can ever escape the cage?
