• Suspend file validation on Zend Framework

  Hi, Currently on my application I have a form where I ask the user to upload an image file to be used as a logo. I want to allow the user to reset that to nothing by supplying no file (by just pressing the upload button from the browser). In this scenario the only thing left is to suspend file validation when no file is included. Currently I get the *self::NO_FILE* error from the *Zend_Validate_File_Upload* class. Is there any way to suspend the validation so that nothing will be checked if no file has been provided?

  I'm currently parsing an XML file using REXML and trying to come up with a way of inserting an XML fragment from an internal file. Currently, I'm using some logic like the following: doc.elements.each('//include') do |element| handleInclude( element ) end def handleInclude( element ) if filename = element.attributes['file'] data = File.open( filename ).read doc = REXML::Document.new( data ) element.parent.replace_child( element, doc ) end end Where my XML looks like the following: <include file="test.xml" /> But this seems a little bit clunky, and I'm worried that REXML might not always parse XML fragments correctly due to absence of a proper root node in some cases. Is there a better way of doing this? Concern #2: REXML seems not to pick up my changes after I replace elements. For example, after making a change: doc.elements.each('rootNode/*') do |element| end ..picks up neither the original element I replaced, nor the one I replaced it with. Is there some trick to getting REXML to rescan its' tree?

  Linking to external file in Ruby on Rails I have a file I want to share as a link in my rails app. I create a link to it in the .erb file like this <li><a href="somefile.pdf">Some File</a> </li> When I select the link I get the following error. Routing Error No route matches "/pages/somefile.pdf" with {:method=:get} Do I really need a route for this? I really just want the save as dialog to popup. Just a link to a file that the user can open or download. What is the rails way to do this (rails newbie here)?

• Using file-path to images stored within the Application Settings

  I am trying to develop an application that uses a number of images that are stored in a seperate remote file location. The file-paths to the UI elements are stored within the Application Settings. Although I understand how to access and use the file-path from Settings in C# (Properties.Settings.Default.pathToGridImages + "OK.png"), I am at a loss to figure out how to utilize the Settings paths in WPF, and can only seem to access the file if I include the file-path, such as: <Grid.Background> <ImageBrush ImageSource="C:\Skins\bottomfill.png" TileMode="Tile" /> </Grid.Background> I would have thought that concatenating "Properties.Settings.Default.pathToGridImages" with "bottomfill.png" in WPF could be done much like it can be done in C#. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

  Once a member signs up a form they can download the pdf file. Currently, the pdf file is link with HTML which means that anyone with the url can download it. What's the best way to encrypt a page so that the user don't see the url to a pdf file. I tried creating a flash file and link the URL from flash using the following: var myPDF = new URLRequest("temp/test.pdf"); navigateToURL(myPDF); but it opens a new window and show's the URL !!! is there a way to make the browse forcefully download the file instead of opening in on a new browser. • Huge file in Clojure and Java heap space error

  I posted before on a huge XML file - it's a 287GB XML with Wikipedia dump I want ot put into CSV file (revisions authors and timestamps). I managed to do that till some point. Before I got the StackOverflow Error, but now after solving the first problem I get: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space error. • XCode File Browsing doesn't open files!

  Previously when I browsed source code files using Xcode's file browser (located on left side), clicking on a source file would open it in the right window. I must've accidentally changed some setting that stops this behavior -- now single clicking on any file doesn't do anything at all. I'd really like it to go back to the old behavior of opening the file. Any ideas? This behavior is driving me crazy. To open a source file I have to double-click and open in a separate window.

• When opening a file in perl, how can I automatically use STDIN/OUT if the file name is "-"?

  I have a perl program that takes input and output file arguments, and I'd like to support the convention of using "-" to specify standard input/output. The problem is that I can't just open the file name, because open(my $input, '<', '-') opens a file called -, not standard input. So I have to do something like this: my $input_fh; if ($input_filename eq '-') { # Special case: get the stdin handle $input_fh = *STDIN{IO}; } else { # Standard case: open the file open($input_fh, '<', $input_filename); } And similarly for the output file. Is there any way to do this without testing for the special case myself? I know I could hack the ARGV filehandle to do this for input, but that won't work for output.

• SoundPool.load() and FileDescriptor from file

  I tried using the load function of the SoundPool that takes a FileDescriptor, because I wanted to be able to set the offset and length. The File is not stored in the Ressources but a file on the storage card. Even though neither the load nor the play function of the SoundPool throw any Exception or print anything to the console, the sound is not played. Using the same code, but use the file path string in the SoundPool constructor works perfectly. This is how I have tried the loading (start equals 0 and length is the length of the file in miliseconds): FileInputStream fileIS = new FileInputStream(new File(mFile)); mStreamID = mSoundPool.load(fileIS.getFD(), start, length, 0); mPlayingStreamID = mSoundPool.play(mStreamID, 1f, 1f, 1, 0, 1f); If I would use this, it works: mStreamID = mSoundPool.load(mFile, 0); mPlayingStreamID = mSoundPool.play(mStreamID, 1f, 1f, 1, 0, 1f); Any ideas anyone?   Hello, I want to find a method to include some files based on the current file path.. for example: I have "website.com/templates/name1/index.php", this "index.php should be a unique file that I will use in many different directories on different depths, so I want to make the code universal so I don't need to change anything inside this file.. So if this "index.php" is located in "website.com/templates/name1/index.php" than it should include the file located here: "website.com/content/templates/name1/content.php" another example: "website.com/templates/name2/index.php" than it should include the file located here: "website.com/content/templates/name2/content.php" Also I want to overrun "*Warning: include_once() [function.include-once]: http:// wrapper is disabled in the server configuration by allow_url_include=0*" kind of error.. because is disabled and unsafe.. • Ant deploy WAR file to tomcat server failure

  I am having a little trouble getting my deployment task in ant to function. I have a war file that is generated as part of the build process, and I am now trying to autodeploy that to my test server. In ant I have defined a deployment task as seen below. When I try to run it I get a file not found error on the server in the catalina.out log file. Does anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong that is causing this deploy to not function? I have checked the path, and it is correct and the WAR file exists. • SQL Server - Error when trying to reference a .mdf file

  Hi, For a NUnit test I need to reference a .mdf file from a .config file. Unfortunately, I get the following error message: The FOR ATTACH option requires that at least the primary file be specified. An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file C:\....\*.mdf A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share. I looked for this error on google but didn't find anything that helped me solve my problem. Any idea? Thank you

• Where are the static methods in gcc's dump file.c.135r.jump

  When I run gcc with the parameter -fdump-rtl-jump, I get a dump file with the name file.c.135r.jump, where I can read some information about the intermediate representation of the methods in my C or C++ file. I just recently discovered, that the static methods of a project are missing in this dump file. Do you know, why they are missing in that representation and if there is a possibility to include the static methods in this file, too. Update (some additional information): The test program, I'm using here, is the Hybrid OpenMP MPI Benchmark. Update2: I just reproduced the problem with a serial application, so it has nothing to do with parallel sections.

• FFMEPG permission problem, is there any alternative solution instead of FFMPEG?

  We have some kind of permenant permission problem on FFMPEG.exe to write JPEG file on to HDD. We are using IIS and try all permission methods to ffmepg.exe, its including folder,folders, cmd.exe and any executable file, related folder, file. Also we tried many many command examples. But never went beyond the "permission denied" error messages. We give up. Do you know another alternative solution to pick images from flv, f4v movie files? Or %100 quaranteed method to achive this permission control on IIS? • WIX: Using a temporary file during install

  Hello! I am writing a WIX installer and I have a following requirement: During installation, I need to pass an absolute path to a file (lets call it A) included in my installer to a COM component, which already exists on the hard drive and is a part of another program. I have already written an appropriate Custom Action which expects a path to the file A. I don't want to include A as a file installed in the Program Files folder and removed during the uninstallation process. Instead, I would like to put A only temporary on the hard drive, call my Custom Action which will cause the COM component to use the content of A, and then remove A from disk. Is there an easy way to accomplish this goal? I have tried to utilize the Binary Table and store A there, however I don't know how to reference A using absolute path. I know I could put A outside of MSI file but I would like to keep every file installer needs in a single MSI. Any help would be appreciated.

• Dealing with a badly formatted CSV file

  I have an exceptionally bad CSV file. Although I "solved" the problem in the end by manually writing scripts to process and reprocess this specific file I wanted to know if there were any other solutions out there. You have a CSV file that has all the fields terminated by | (pipe) characters. Running a quick check shows you that there are 53 fields in the file. The person who gave you the file claims there there are only 28 fields. Not all of the fields have information in them. For example there are five custom_field_{num} fields which may or may not have data. How would you get this into a database nicely? The ideal solution (and one I searched high and low for) would be to just throw it all into a table with no column names or specifications. Then remove any columns that were completely blank and then give them titles and specifications.
