  Apologies in advance if this is the wrong place to post. I tried searching for this issue and all that seemed to come up were questions posted from people who had this issue with their web pages. I couldn't find questions related to this issue from a laypersons perspective. I'm not a developer. I have no domain, nor wish to have one at the time. Rather I'm just a regular person who likes to upload photos to some photo related sites. My uploading process constantly gets interrupted by one of these annoying API errors. I get it at least two times, one when I click the page to upload, and also right after it has uploaded. It also pops up if I go to edit a photo or delete it. This interrupts my browsing experience until I click okay. I just want a fix for the annoying without having to register for a key. I tried before and it required a web domain. I rather not have to create a domain and go through such hoops just to fix this. Is there a solution for this problem that doesn't require registration? Another thing to note: I have used two computers. One has the message pop-up and the other doesn't. What is different about the two computers?

• Where can I find video and audio drivers for my netbook?

  I got a little netbook yesterday (an Acer Aspire One) for schoolwork and read in numerous reviews Ubuntu was a must. I dove into it blindly and downloaded 12.04 LTS and though I admit it's faster than before, I have no idea how it works yet and was stupid enough to get rid of the Windows 7 Starter that was on there before completely. I can see myself getting used to the rest of Ubuntu, but the main issue is that it seems to have eaten all of my drivers and I don't know where to get any Ubuntu compatible ones. Any video at all is jilty and kind of creepy and any audio is very distorted and REALLY creepy. I understand that this is a tiny $150 typing and light web use school device I'm talking about, but I feel really stupid making the poor thing worse than it was before and not knowing what to do about it. Does anyone know how to install graphics/sound drivers? Or, alternatively, does anyone know where I can get a copy of Windows 7 Starter. I can see myself liking this if the problems are fixable, but if not I still have the product key and would be able to tackle the problem by myself with that.

• How to sync Ubuntu/software/configurations between N computers with free software and/or without a cloud?

  Note: this question is not about syncing data in a Dropbox-like way (files, folders), it is more about syncing configurations. I would like to have exactly the same version of Ubuntu with all the software installed and configured both on my Desktop PC and on my Laptop PC (and maybe on my small netbook PC) without using Ubuntu Sync and with minimal maintenance effort (setup once, run for a long time). The use case is the following: I work on my Laptop PC and do some changes to software configuration, for example: configure vim to have a new plugin update the Search Tracker / Recoll file search index configure Thunderbird to have an additional IMAP account ('remember password') add some new bookmarks in Firefox/Chrome change the desktop background image install new software with apt-get install build and install new software with checkinstall etc. I do some 'sync' operation I switch to my Desktop PC and get all the changes from (1) working on the Desktop PC I work on my Desktop PC and do some changes to software configuration, for example: add new directory to the list of directories to be backed up by DejaDup add a new check spelling dictionary to the Libreoffice Writer configure the Terminator software to have colored fonts install new font into the Ubuntu system configure Ekiga to make phone calls etc. I do some 'sync' operation I switch to my Laptop PC and get all the changes from (1) and (4) working on the Laptop PC. Question: What free/open-source software can I use to sync both machines' Ubuntu systems, installed software and configurations? Is it possible to do that without any cloud services? Complementary question: It is obvious that the Desktop PC and the Laptop PC have different hardware configurations. How does the 'sync software' in question deal with video drivers, wlan drivers and their configurations? Note: I do not need all the PCs to be synced at the same time, because I work with only one single machine at once. Note: I considered to use Chef to solve the problem, but it seems that it might be really cumbersome to maintain such a setup. Note: I also considered using a bootable USB with Ubuntu installed (portable Linux), but I am not sure that the video drivers will work then.

I can see in the debugger that it loads fine, but then when I get to detaching, I can't make anything beyond the User object load. (No Decks, no Cards). At first I tried without a transaction to simply "touch" all the fields on the attached object before detaching, but that didn't help. Then I tried adding everything to the default fetch group, but that just generated warnings about GAE not supporting joins. I tried setting the fetch plan's max fetch depth to -1, but that didn't do it.   I would like to ask if it is possible to set up two static IPs from same subnet through one gateway? and How if it is? What I am interested in is described here Routing for multiple uplinks/providers, but in my case I have two IP addresses from one provider, both are on same subnet and off course I have internet access on both. I have two NICs, but I don't mind to go with one if that makes it possible. Any thought is appreciated!

• How to submit sitemap when your website has partial https? - Error: "Not in Domain"

  My website is an ecommerce that is set up to do http for the item browsing portion, but https for things like shopping cart, contact us, etc.. (anything that has forms on it). I've submitted my website a long time ago to google webmaster tools as http://www.mywebsite.com. I also submitted a sitemap with about 40 links - 8 of them are https. I've noticed that for the longest time, google webmaster tools was reporting that 32 out of the 40 links have been crawled. I tested all the links against my robots.txt and realized that my robots text was blocking the https links. Google says those links are "Not In Domain". Is there a way i'm supposed to get around this so that I can have a hybrid-ssl site? I understand the concept that one site is mywebsite.com:80 and the other is mywebsite.com:443, but i'd like to avoid submitting and maintaining 2 seperate websites on google webmaster tools.

  FY10 is coming to a close and before we dive into FY11 we thought we would take a walk down memory lane and reminisce on some of our favorite Oracle PartnerNetwork activities. June 2009 brought One Red Network to partners offering access to the same virtual kickoff environment used by Oracle employees. It was a new way to deliver valuable content to key stakeholders (and without the 100+ degree temperatures). Speaking of hot, Oracle also announced in June new licensing options for our ISV partners. This model enables an even broader community of ISVs to build, deploy and manage SaaS applications on the same platform. While some people took the summer off, the OPN Program team was working away to deliver a brand new partner program - Oracle PartnerNetwork Specialized - at Oracle OpenWorld in October. Specialized. Recognized. Preferred. If you haven't gotten the message yet, we may need an emergency crew to pull you out from that rock you've been hiding under. But seriously, the announcement at the OPN Forum drew a big crowd and our FY11 event is shaping up to be just as exciting. OPN Specialized was announced in October and opened our doors for enrollment in December 2009. To mark our grand opening we held our first ever social webcast allowing partners from around the world to interact with us live throughout the day. We had a lot of great conversations and really enjoyed the chance to speak with so many of you. After a short holiday break we were back at it - just a small announcement - Oracle's acquisition of Sun. • Revamped Google Webmaster Tools

  With a positive surprise I realized today that Google's Webmaster Tools had some minor overhauling and provide some more details than before. Most obvious are the changes on the dashboard where the Top Search Queries now provide information about impressions and clicktroughs instead of the rankings before. Only the links of the search expressions are missing. It seems that the Top search queries were in the focus of this update. The section is now spiced with detailed graphs about what happened during selectable periods on your site. Well, seems that the Webmaster Tools mimic a stripped-down version of Google Analytics... I was very pleased by the details that are offered when you click on a single query term. Really nice to see the search rankings and your responsible URLs at the same time. Before, you had to put two browser instances side-by-side to achieve this kind of overview. Personally, I like the approach to visualize statistics the way Google or other providers do. It gives you a quick and informative overview, and enables you to dig further into details about peaks and lows on your visits, page impressions or clickthroughs.

• Crawling an ajax based page with both a hash fragment and a meta tag

  According to google's documentation on crawling ajax based web pages, if a url contains a hash fragment, or something at the end of an url that looks like #helloworld, and if there is an ! after the #, as in #!helloworld, google will then request the url url?_escaped_fragment_=helloworld. I currently have an ajax based webpage that I want google to be able to crawl. Sometimes, the page uses hash fragments, and for those situations I set up the server so it will return an html snapshot for that page using _escaped_fragment_. However, that webpage often does not load a hash fragment, and when that happens the webpage still loads content using ajax. I couldn't find a good solution to enable ajax crawling for pages that sometimes have a hash fragment and sometimes don't. How can I tell google to use _escaped_fragment_ when there is a hash fragment, and to use something else to get an html snapshot of a page when there isn't a hash fragment?

• Class Design -- Multiple Calls from One Method or One Call from Multiple Methods?

  I've been working on some code recently that interfaces with a CMS we use and it's presented me with a question on class design that I think is applicable in a number of situations. Essentially, what I am doing is extracting information from the CMS and transforming this information into objects that I can use programatically for other purposes. On the other hand, the two helper methods are never going to be used outside of the class, so I'm not sure if it really matters whether one depends on the other. Furthermore, I like the fact that in the first approach the objects can be retrieved from one line-- most likely anyone working with the main method doesn't care how the objects are retrieved, they just need to retrieve the objects, and the "daisy chained" helper methods hide the exact steps needed to retrieve them (in practice, I actually have a few more methods but am still able to retrieve the object collection I want in one line). Is one of these methods right and the other wrong? Or is it simply a matter of preference or context dependent?

In godaddy when paying only for domain, without hosting, they state you can get one page hosting for free but that option only opens their web-builder. I want to create a nicely design landing page, where the content is static.Is there a way to make my domain point to a wordpress one page or self created html one page/ landing page?

• Build one to throw away vs Second-system effect

  One one hand there is an advice that says "Build one to throw away". Only after finishing a software system and seeing the end product we realize what went wrong in the design phase and understand how we should have really done it. On the other hand there is the "second-system effect" which says that the second system of the same kind that is designed is usually worse than the first one; there are many features that did not fit in the first project and were pushed into the second version usually leading to overly complex and overly engineered. Isn't here some contradiction between these principles? What is the correct view over the problems and where is the border between these two? I believe that these "good practices" are were firstly promoted in the seminal book The Mythical Man-Month by Fred Brooks. I know that some of these issues are solved by Agile methodologies, but deep down, the problem is still the principles still stand; for example we would not make important design changes 3 sprints before going live.

• Choose Custom New Tab Pages in Chrome

  For most people the default New Tab Page in Chrome works perfectly well for their purposes. But if you would prefer to choose what opens in a new tab for yourself then you will definitely want to have a look at the “Define your own new tab!” extension for Google Chrome. Before Unless you are using a Speed Dial (or similar) extension each time you click on the “New Tab Button” you get the same old page. It would certainly be a lot more satisfying if you could choose custom webpage(s) to open as new tabs. After Once you have the extension installed the best thing to do is click on the “New Tab Button”. That will open up the “Options Page” where you can enter one or two custom website URLs of your choosing. Once you have your custom URLs entered click on “Save”. As soon as you click on the “New Tab Button” your new custom webpage(s) will open. If you chose two webpages the first choice will open focused on the “right side” instead of the “left”. Clicking on the “Home Button” will also open the webpage(s) that you chose. The webpage(s) that you chose will also open as your starting “Home Pages” each time that you start your browser.   somebody who want to listen music  pay much more to some online music store for online listening. otherwise they experience bad or low quality on YouTube. who is illegal  because uploader not have a permission or right to upload the document and their is no guarantee that they not put their ads or quality as same. now forget YouTube and all other because Google music search is much better just go their search the song by movies name or song and just click and listen. the quality is much better then other but it is not Google. the result they put comes from other website. i feel a thing goes wrong in Google music  search  that if i search “sajda” they never show me result about “sadka” because the word in common life use as same both. but the song may be starting from  “sajda” or “sadka”. i thing that they put the link that Do you means “Sadka” when i search sajda that it is better thing just like many online book store show the different keyword related to your keyword when you search their. like you search for a book on online book store they show you some different keyword when they serve the result and show related product or books when you go to a product page. after thinking all it is a better option for user to feel a better quality music without search hassle.

  In a garbage collection based system, what is the most effective way to handle a read only array if such a structure does not exist natively in the language. Is it better to return a copy of an array or allow other classes to retrieve copies of the objects stored in the array one by one? @JustinSkiles: It is not very broad. It is performance related and can actually be answered specifically for two general cases. You only need very few items: in this situation it's more effective to retrieve copies of the objects one by one. You wish to iterate over 30% or more objects. In this cases it is superior to retrieve all the array at once. This saves on functions calls. Function calls are very expansive when compared to reading directly from an array. A good specific answer could include performance, reading from an array and reading indirectly through a function. It is a simple performance related question.
