  • HttpHandler to handle all kinds of URL's in Mono Apache/XSP in order to build a REST service

    Hi, I want to develop my own REST service, so I've created a HttpHandler that is configured with verb="" and path="", the the application in "~/MyRESTsrv/" will handle any derivated URL. This approach works good in IIS7 with "integrated mode" and apparently in IIS6 if you map all the extensions to "aspnet_isapi.dll". Is this possible in Apache/XSP with Mono? Do I have to do something special or it will work out of the box? Cheers.

    We (will) have the following architecture: Base.war will be a self-contained spring-hibernate application All applications will run under Glassfish, and may be clustered E1.war will sit on top of Base.war, extending it's functionality There could be further extensions (E2.war, E3.war, …) sitting on top of Base.war Either wars could start a transaction, and transactions could span between wars Without shutting down Base.war, or any other Ex.war, it should be possible to upgrade an Ey.war Is there a solution for this with spring-hibernate-glassfish environment?

  • Where is the handy designer for setting Permissions and schema diagram designer in a SQL2005 Databas

    I have just installed the GDR RTM version of Visual Studio Team System Database Edition GDR RTM. It all seems to work wonderfully, but I seem to have to edit XML (Database.sqlpermissions) for specify SQL Permissions. Am I missing something? For that matter where is the schema diagram tool? I understand GDR exposes alot for extending the Database Edition components, so am I supposed to wait for third party extensions to provide the diagram tool and permissions designer?

I need to use sockets in extension for peer to peer communication using UDP. Is there any firefox Jslib equivalent in google chrome or how we can use other languages in google chrome extension? I doubt its possible in google chrome, looking at its documentation. ? Are there any other ways to achieve p2p communication in extension? Thanks

    I've been looking for a good book for windows shell programming, and the only one I could find is Visual C++ Windows Shell Programming by Dino Eposito: http://www.wintellect.com/BookInformation.aspx?ASIN=1861001843 It is an old book, and I'd like to know if you know of any good resources which could help. I need to develop a couple of windows explorer extensions, and apparently managed code is not recommended by Microsoft at least for some of these tasks. I know that in most circumstances I would use Visualforce with an Apex controller/extension to access the data, however the external database will require a VPN connection.   • Java web-app debugging not possible due to direct undeploy on debug

    When i try to debug my webapp it starts up the tomcat server and the application, but shuts down the debugger shortly before the app gets usable. I see the debugging toolbar for a second before it vanishes again, though the app keeps running.   • Spawn a multi-threaded Java program from a Windows command line program, spawner won't end until spa

    Short version: How can I prevent a spawned Java process in Windows from blocking the spawning process from ending? Long version: I'm trying to spawn a multi-threaded Java program (Selenium RC, not that it should matter) from a program launched from the Windows command line (NAnt's <exec> task, again, not that it should matter). I'm doing it using the Windows "start" command, and the spawned process is started and runs correctly. The spawning process receives control back and finishes (NAnt says "BUILD SUCCEEDED"), but doesn't actually exit to the command line. When the spawned process finally terminates (could be hours later), the command process returns and the command line prompt occurs.     Hi, I've peen looking at the PE/COFF format and it seems to be missing a few things about extensions to the format. Specifically, I'm trying to learn about ECOFF and ANON objects. from what I can tell, those're just two names for the same thing, which is also known as a BIGOBJ. The BIGOBJ allows you to create, surprise surprise, larger object files than the format otherwise allows. Can anyone confirm or correct this? Thanks

  • When developing a MVC project, is the the toolbox really useful?

    I'm a noobie when it comes to VS, specifically VS 2010. I'm trying to learn MVC 2.0. If you're developing a pure MVC project, it seems like most of the toolbox is not useful. Shouldn't the IDE hide controls that aren't useful? Specifically, I'm looking at the AJAX extensions like Timer and UpdatePanel, but it seems like a lot controls more would require postback.
