  • jQuery mousemove performance

    - by Colby77
Hi, When I bind a mousemove event to an element it is working smoothly with every browser except Internet Explorer. With IE the CPU usage is way too much and some associated things (eg. tooltip) are ugly. Is there any way I could rid of the performance problem? (yeah I know, don't use IE :))

  • Find Line Above or Below in Javascript

    - by Dark Falcon
I am working on an in-place HTML editor, concentrating on Firefox only right now. I have an element inserted where the cursor should be and also have left and right arrows working, but I can't seem to find a way to find: Start and end of a line for the home and end keys The next line up or down for the up/down arrows. I see document.elementFromPoint, but this doesn't get me a Range object. The Range object itself seems rather useless when it comes to using pixel positions.

  • ASP.NET MVC Binding - Duplicated Messages

    - by Rodrigo Gama
I'm using ASP.NET MVC Binding Framework. Let's say I have a class Item, that has a mandatory field Id. I am binding a List, and do not want one error message for each element in this list. If more then one error happen when binding the Id field, I want only one message to be added to ModelState and shown to the user. In one sentence: Is there a way to avoid duplicated messages using ASP.NET MVC Binding Framework?

  • Parse 2 dimensional JSON array in Javascript

    - by MrG
    I have a two dimensional JSON array where each element contains several attributes. The example below is intentionally simplified: var map_data = { "1": {"1":{"name":"aa"},"2":{"name":"bb"}}, "2": {"1":{"name":"cc"},"2":{"name":"dd"}} }; I try to parse the data but .length doesn't work: for(x=1; x<=map_data.length; x++) { for(y=1; y<=map_data[x].length; y++) { // CODE } } Many, many thanks!

  • limitations of xpath to distinguish and locate web elements on page

    - by wefwgeweg
are there any alternatives to Xpath ? need to locate and extract specific element's texts for web scraping project. xpath seem pretty limited against layout changes on web pages. slight shuffle, and xpath no longer works. also different browsers have different Xpaths as i discovered. Firefox automatically adds tbody after table, while IE doesn't and so on.

  • Trouble with this Python newbie exercise. Using Lists and finding if two adjacent elements are the s

    - by Sergio Tapia
Here's what I got: # D. Given a list of numbers, return a list where # all adjacent == elements have been reduced to a single element, # so [1, 2, 2, 3] returns [1, 2, 3]. You may create a new list or # modify the passed in list. def remove_adjacent(nums): for number in nums: numberHolder = number # +++your code here+++ return I'm kind of stuck here. What can I do?

  • Convert HTML DOM into a multidimensional array

    - by dclowd9901
Where keys are represented by element type and values are represented by #foo and .bar (spaced and ready for explode()). Is it possible, or does something exist for it? I know that this question might incite some wrath, and I'm hoping nobody links to that post about parsing HTML, but I'm hoping it's not impossible. Thanks for the help. Addendum: Ideally, PHP would be used, since it's the only scripting language I know.

  • JS Chrome top.document

    - by stevewk10
What is Chrome's equivalent of 'top.document', valid in both FF and IE8. In Chrome, 'top' is valid, top.length returns 2 (frames)...as it should. But top.document returns 'undefined'. Needed to get an element. top.document.getElementById(id) works perfectly in both FF and IE8. Thanks in advance, swk

  • Is there a way to find how how "deep" a PHP array is?

    - by Thomas Owens
A PHP array can have arrays for its elements. And those arrays can have arrays and so on and so forth. Is there a way to find out the maximum nesting that exists in a PHP array? An example would be a function that returns 1 if the initial array does not have arrays as elements, 2 if at least one element is an array, and so on.

  • referencing DOM elements in jQuery

    - by Lyon
Hi, I would select multiple DOM elements using a typical code such as this: $('#ele1, #ele2, #ele3').click(function () {}); If I have variables of each DOM element, e.g. var domEle1 = $('#ele1'); var domEle2 = $('#ele2'); var domEle3 = $('#ele3'); How can I select them all at once? Instead of individually... domEle1.click(function () {}); Thanks!

  • Modifying a SharePoint Site Template's manifest.xml

    - by Christopher
I am trying to manually code some changes into my SharePoint Site Template. I can get the stp/cab file open and have added a new Element to the manifest.xml file, but when I repackage the stp and load it onto the server - the new site that I create using the updated .stp does not reflect the new link that I have added to the manifest.xml I realize this isn't the proper way to add a link to the sidebar but am interested to make it work this way, for other reasons.

  • Button in a WPF ListItem

    - by Joel Martinez
Hi, I'm a bit new to WPF. I am working on a list UI where each item in the list will have a set of corresponding buttons to operate on that particular data item. Coming from a web background, I normally would have bound the value into a hidden element in that particular list item or something. However, I just need to find the corresponding technique in this WPF world :-)
