  • Does using msysgit lead to repository corruption?

    While stumbling through the chromium code documentation, I came across this post: http://code.google.com/p/chromium/wiki/UsingGit#Windows If you are using msysgit, you are asking for trouble. Using both msysgit (including TortoiseGit) and cygwin's version of git is a path to lead to repository corruption so it's safer to stick with the cygwin's version. So if you still have msysgit in your PATH, you are on your own. Does this really happen? What causes the corruption?

    Hi, I had downloaded and installed the 1.6.9 version of SVN from http://subversion.tigris.org/. After the installation I noticed that if I launch the command "svn" from the terminal, my Mac still uses the old version, the 1.4.4. If i want to use the new version, I need to specify its path, like this: - /opt/subversion/bin/svn commit instead of: - svn commit There is a way to solve this problem and use the new version of the command without typing the entire path?     Is it possible somehow using mod_rewrite change the url from http://www.mywebsite.com/company/123/reviews to http://www.mywebsite.com/company-123/reivews? It's not a redirect. The problem is that the real path is the first one and I need my browser to display the second path. So when the user goes to company-123/reviews the content of the page is displayed from company/123/reviews. Thank you.

    I have installed xfig on my computer(MacOSX) but in order to complete the instalation I need a make install inside the source directory of xfig. I used the command whereis xfig in order to find the path of the source of xfig (as I cannot find it otherwise) but when I type this command I get no answer as i.e: hcp249:~ madalinahodorog$ whereis xfig hcp249:~ madalinahodorog$ why dont I get some answer? how can I find the path to the source of xfig? thank you in advance, madalina

    I am trying to do something very simple in powershell Reading the contents of a file Manipulation some string Saving the modified test back to the file function Replace { $file = Get-Content C:\Path\File.cs $file | foreach {$_ -replace "document.getElementById", "$"} |out-file -filepath C:\Path\File.cs } I have tried Set-Content as well. I always get unautorized exception. I can see the $file has the file content, error is coming while writing the file. Any help is appreciated. Ben

    Hello, Q1 - As far as I know, Visual Studio doesn’t use aspnet_compiler.exe when compiling web application projects. And since Web Deployment Projects (WDP) tool is only used for manipulation the output created by aspnet_compiler.exe, I don’t understand how VS 2008 also has an option for using WDP with web application projects?!     Hi, In Xaml I can set a custom attached property using local:TestClass.TestProperty="1" An I can bind to a custom attached property using {Binding Path=(Namespace:[OwnerType].[PropertyName])} {Binding Path=(local:TestClass.TestProperty)} But how do I specify the namespace when I need to use a custom attached property in a SortDescription?
