My question is I declared 2.5 as version. However does it important to write a lower version? For example I mean that if my project uses 3.0 version and I write that 2.5 will be provided? (I mean that let's accept that 2.5 is fine and my project works well, If I don't change anything else and just change 2.5 to 2.0 does it cause to an error?)

    So this is my first java program, but I've done c++ for a few years. I wrote what I think should work, but in fact it does not. So I had a stipulation of having to write a method for this call: tree.insertNode(value); where value is an int.   • Handling multiple exceptions

    Hi there, I have written a class which loads configuration objects of my application and keeps track of them so that I can easily write out changes or reload the whole configuration at once with a single method call. However, each configuration object might potentially throw an exception when doing IO, yet I do not want those errors to cancel the overall process so that the other objects are still given a chance to reload/write. Therefore I collect all exceptions which are thrown while iterating over the objects and store them in a super-exception, which is thrown after the loop, since each exception must still be handled and someone has to be notified of what exactly went wrong. However, that approach looks a bit odd to me. Someone out there with a cleaner solution?     The documentation is pretty confusing on this one: The implementation of accessor methods you write for subclasses of NSManagedObject is typically different from those you write for other classes. If you do not provide custom instance variables, you retrieve property values from and save values into the internal store using primitive accessor methods. You must ensure that you invoke the relevant access and change notification methods (willAccessValueForKey:, didAccessValueForKey:, willChangeValueForKey:, didChangeValueForKey:, willChangeValueForKey:withSetMutation:usingObjects:, and didChangeValueForKey:withSetMutation:usingObjects:). NSManagedObject disables automatic key-value observing (KVO, see Key-Value Observing Programming Guide) change notifications, and the primitive accessor methods do not invoke the access and change notification methods. In accessor methods for properties that are not defined in the entity model, you can either enable automatic change notifications or invoke the appropriate change notification methods.   • Bitfield With 3 States...?

    I'm trying to create an authorization scheme for my ASP.NET MVC application where an Enum is used to set permissions. For example: [Flags] enum Permissions { ReadAppointments = 1, WriteAppointments = 2 | ReadAppointments, ReadPatients = 4, WritePatients = 8 | ReadPatients, ReadInvoices = 16, WriteInvoices = 32 | ReadInvoices ... } But I don't really like that because it really doesn't make it clear that Write always includes Read. I then realized that a requirement would be that a user might have NO access to, for example, Appointments. Essentially, I'd want a "bitfield" with 3 states: none, readonly, full (read/write). I'd like to still use an enum bitfield since it's easy to store in a DB (as an int). Also it's very easy to see if a permission is set. Does anyone have any idea how this could be easily accomplished using an Enum... or am I going in the completely wrong direction?

Suppose that I have a method called doSomething() and I want to use this method in a multithreaded application (each servlet inherits from HttpServlet).I'm wondering if it is possible that a race condition will occur in the following cases: doSomething() is not staic method and it writes values to a database. doSomething() is static method but it does not write values to a database. what I have noticed that many methods in my application may lead to a race condition or dirty read/write. for example , I have a Poll System , and for each voting operation, a certain method will change a single cell value for that poll as the following: [poll_id | poll_data ] [1 | {choice_1 : 10, choice_2 : 20}] will the JSP/Servlets app solve these issues by itself, or I have to solve all that by myself? For instance: I stumbled across lots of software written in Air/Flex with nearly infinity global vars :-) Most of the software I saw was not object-oriented How can I pack the asynchronous method calls nicely?   • SQL Server, Generate scripts, unencrypted stored procedures only

    I have a SQL Server database with 3195 stored procedures. Most (approx 90%) of the stored procedures are encrypted (it's a 3rd party app) but there are many that are not encrypted (added by consultants later). I need to get an overview of the unencrypted stored procedures created by consultants and then apply fixes so that they can work with UTC time. I use Generate Scripts and select only stored procedures but that fails. I assume that is because the first stored procedure that it tries to write out is encrypted. Is there a way to write out the approx 300 stored procedures that are not encrypted?

  • XMLEncoder and PersistenceDelegate

    I'm trying to use XMLEncoder to write an object graph (tree in my case) to a file. However, one class contained in it is not actually a Java bean and I don't particularly like making its guts publicly accessible. It's accessed more like a list and has appropriate add methods. I've already written a custom PersistenceDelegate to deal with that. However, is there any way for XMLEncoder to pick it up on its own or do I really need to add it whenever I use an encoder to write a graph that may contain said class?

  • Adding Runtime Intelligence Application Analytics for a library and not an application

    I want to add usage statistics for a .NET 4.0 library I write on CodePlex. I try to follow the step described here but my problem lies with the fact that what I write is a library and not an application. One of the steps is put the Setup and Teardown attributes. I thought about adding the Setup attribute on a static constructor or a different place that will run once per usage of the library. My problem lies with the Teardown attribute that should be placed on code that ends the usage. I don't know where to put this attribute. Is it possible to get usage statistics on a library? Maybe I can register on an event that will fire when the application unloads the dll?

Let's say I want to pass a collection to a tag and then I would write code in jsp to iterate the collection and display it in . Why I want to do it - I really hate having out.print() in my code. The principe being: - Write the django app, and use something like cherrypy to serve it. - Write a Qt app in C++ to access it and this by using QtWebview (webkit) I'd like to "bundle" this in a single app. The lighter, the better :) So here are my questions and if you have better ideas and suggestions, please share them :) Is it possible to serve a django app with a c++ one?   • Python Game using pyGame with Window Menu elements

    Here's the deal. I'm trying to write an arkanoid clone game and the thing is that I need a window menu like you get in pyGTK. For example File-(Open/Save/Exit) .. something like that and opening an "about" context where the author should be written. I'm already using pyGame for writting the game logic. I've tried pgu to write the GUI but that doesn't help me, altough it has those menu elements I'm taking about, you can't include the screen of the game in it's container. Does anybody know how to include such window menus with the usage of pyGame ?

  • what kind of credentials/prerequisites do you need to be a professional penetration tester ?

    does it take more than knowing Bt4 ? are there any one that just runs a scanner and no real labor involved ? would you be expected to be able to code your own exploits without having to dl from milw0rm and discover entry into a system by yourself, in other words, do you have to think outside the box even when there's so many tools that makes the job a lot easier ? would you ever be expected to be able to write your own scanners, exploits and etc ? i am also curious how people are able to write long pages of hex address, that magically causes some type of memory overflow...how are people guessing at the hex values for game hacks for instance ? are certification important ? what about formal school education ? I am a CS major.

    The function "WriteStartElement" does not return anything. I find this a little bizzare. So up until now I have been doing it like this. Does anybody know the correct way of doing this because I'm pretty sure what I'm doing isn't right. I tried to use xmlWriter.AppendChild() but it doesnt seem to write out anything. :(

Although there's a page on the Maven site about this topic, there's only one example unit test, which does nothing useful. I also found this wiki page, but it hasn't been updated for more than 4 years, so I'm reluctant to invest any faith in it. I checked the book "The Definitive Guide to Maven", but it doesn't even mention the subject.
