  • Spring: Inject static member (System.in) via constructor

    I wrote some sort of console client for a simple application. To be more flexible, I thought it would be nice to only depend on java.io.Input-/OutputStream, instead of accessing System.in/out directly. I renamed the class ConsoleClient to StreamClient, added setters and made sure that the instance fields are used instead of System.in/out. At the moment my client code looks like this: ApplicationContext appCtx = new ClassPathXmlApplicationContext("..."); StreamClient cc = (StreamClient) appCtx.getBean("streamClient"); cc.setInputStream(System.in); cc.setOutputStream(System.out); cc.run(); // start client Question: Is there a way to move lines 3 and 4 into the Spring configuration (preferably constructor injection)?   • I need to get form data from multiple forms on one page using $_POST

    My project is a menu that displays daily specials at a cafe. The Pointy Haired Boss(PHB) needs to add/remove items from the menu on a daily basis, so I stored all dishes with MySQL, and created a page which will load all menu items as buttons. When clicked, the button will UPDATE the item, turning it on or off. I need form data to detect which button was pressed, so my query knows which $menuItem to UPDATE.   • Output reformatted text within a file included in a JSP

    I have a few HTML files that I'd like to include via tags in my webapp. Within some of the files, I have pseudo-dynamic code - specially formatted bits of text that, at runtime, I'd like to be resolved to their respective bits of data in a MySQL table. For instance, the HTML file might include a line that says: Welcome, [username]. I want this resolved to (via a logged-in user's data): Welcome, [email protected]. This would be simple to do in a JSP file, but requirements dictate that the files will be created by people who know basic HTML, but not JSP. Simple text-tags like this should be easy enough for me to explain to them, however. I have the code set up to do resolutions like that for strings, but can anyone think of a way to do it across files? I don't actually need to modify the file on disk - just load the content, modify it, and output it w/in the containing JSP file. I've been playing around with trying to load the files into strings via the apache readFileToString, but I can't figure out how to load files from a specific folder within the webapp's content directory without hardcoding it in and having to worry about it breaking if I deploy to a different system in the future.

  • In IIS6, how to provide authenticated access to static files on remote server

    We have a library of ZIP files that we would like to make available for download at an ASP.NET site. The files are sitting on a NAS device that is accessible from out web farm. Here is our initial strategy: Map an IIS virtual directory to the shared drive at path /zipfiles Users can download the zip files when given the URL However, if users share links to the files, anyone can download them. We would instead like to make use of the ASP.NET forms authentication in our site to validate users' requests before initiating the file transfer. A few problems: A request for a zip file is handled by IIS, not ASP.NET. So it is not subject to forms authentication. In addition, we don't want ASP.NET to handle the request, because it uses up an ASP.NET thread and is not scalable for download of large files. So, configuring the asp.net dll to handle *.zip requests is not an option. Any ideas on this? One idea we've tossed around is this: Initial request for download will be for an ashx handler. This handler will, after authentication, generate a download token which is saved to a database. Then, the user is redirected to the file with token appended in QueryString (e.g. /files/xyz.zip?token=123456789). An ISAPI plugin will be used to check the token. Also, the token will expire after x amount of time. Any thoughts on this? I have not implemented an ISAPI plugin so I'm not sure if this will even work. I would like to avoid custom coding since security is an issue and I'd prefer to use a time-tested solution.

  • Making Vim auto-indent PHP/HTML using alternative syntax

    I edit PHP in Vim and have enjoyed the auto-indenting, but PHP's alternative syntax doesn't auto-indent how I would like. For instance, in an HTML template, Vim doesn't recognize the open control structure in the same way it does when using braces. Example: <html> <body> <p> <?php if (1==1): ?> This line should be indented. <?php endif; ?> </p> </body> </html> I want Vim to recognize the open control structure and indent the HTML within it. Another example which uses pure PHP: <?php if (1==1): echo "This line gets indented"; echo "This one doesn't"; endif; ?> The indentation is terminated by the semicolon, even though the control structure is still open. Does anybody know how to get Vim to work in these situations? Thanks.

  • DRUPAL, CKEditor: I cannot add a html tag with Javascript

    hi, I've implemented a Drupal website. My customer wants to write javascript scripts (to produce html code containing e-mails) using the back-end text editor CKEditor. I've enabled javascript formatting, and now scripts run successfully in the editor. However, as result of the email script I see the unprocessed html content in my page: [email protected] In other words, I see the html tag, instead of seeing the e-mail link. I guess this is due to the parenthesis formatting. If I replace "<" with "<" in Firebug, the html is processed and the links works. However I'm not able to do this from the editor. If I type "<" or "<" the result is the same...   • How can I load static configuration information

    In my code, I use JavaScript for UI and PHP for back end. I also use PHP to store application settings and sometimes my UI code needs to access this information. My configuration file looks something like this (config.php): $resolution_x = 1920; $resolution_y = 1080; etc... When I need to access any of these settings form JavaScript, i simply use <?php echo ... ?> to substitute the value directly, but it just doesn't strike me as very robust. Are they any dangers of doing this that I am not aware of? Is there a better way of doing this? Thank you,

  • Seperate html pages for each screen in Jquery mobile

    I am newbie to Jquery Mobile, so far what ever examples i searched contains only one html page for whole application, with multipe div tags where each page/screen is defined as div tag with data-role as page with some header and footers optionally. Based on user actions, we are hiding some div's(pages) and showing only expected page. Also, this multi-page template seems to be standard design, as written by some blogs. Are there any other designing ways? what I would like to have is multipe html pages, for ex one for login, one for home, one for contact etc. Other wise it is difficult to understand/code/debug issues, especially people from Java background like me.So, what I want is some kind of MVC design with JQueryMobile, like each view/screen as sepearate html associated with one js (Controller). Can we have multiple html pages in JqueryMobile app? If possible how to pass data/ maintain session between them? Any samples are most welcome. Thanks In Advance. Note: Also I don't want server side includes, may app contains 10 to 15 screens, each page will make a webservice call and fetch some data and map it to UI.

I use rich:editor with these attributes: (Irrelevant data removed) HtmlEditor editor = new HtmlEditor(); editor.setValueExpression("value", ve); editor.setTheme("advanced"); editor.setValueExpression("viewMode", viewModeValueExpression); panel.getChildren().add(editor); Now my problem is that whenever I load a ready-made html text such as this (In source mode): <html lang="en" xml:lang="en"> <head> <title>Done</title> </head> <body style="direction: ltr; font-size: medium; color: #0000FF;"> <p>When the menu loads, navigate to and open Image Editor.</p> </body> </html> Change to VisualMode and then back to SourceMode, I see that the editor removed all of my html data and now the source mode is this: <p>When the menu loads, navigate to and open Chul Muzal.</p> Anyone knows why this happens?     Hi! I'm trying to refactor some code and move some of my before_filter's from the controller to a class. Before: class UsersController < ApplicationController before_filter :find_user def find_user @user = User.find(params[:id]) end end ... After class FindUserFilter def self.filter(controller) @user = User.find(params[:id]) end end class UsersController < ApplicationController before_filter FindUserFilter end class GuestbookController < ApplicationController before_filter FindUserFilter end This results in an error because neither params[:id] nor @user is available/definable in the FindUserFilter-class. Any idea how to fix this?

    I am trying to make a popup button that always displays a + as its image and when you click on it, a context menu pops up that will allow you to decide what type of object you want to add. Is there anyway to do this using an NSPopupButton? I saw in the specs for NSPopupButotn that the method SetImage has no effect so it seems that this is likely not going to work using this class. Is this correct?

    Hi guys, I've a little problem with an Html.ListBox! I am developing a personal blog in ASP.NET MVC 1.0 and I created an adminpanel where I can add and edit a post! During this two operations, I can add also tags! I think of use an Html.ListBox() helper to list all tags, and so I can select multiple tags to add in a post! The problem isn't during the add mode, but in the edit mode, where I have to pre-select post's tags! I read that I have to use a MultiSelectList and so in its constructor pass, tags' list and tag's list(pre-selected value). But I don't know how to use this class! I post, some code: This is my models method that get all list tags in selectlist public IEnumerable<SelectListItem> GetTagsListBox() { return from t in db.Tags orderby t.IDTag descending select new SelectListItem { Text = t.TagName, Value = t.IDTag.ToString(), }; } So in Edit (Get and Post), Add(Get and Post) I use a ViewData to pass this list in Html.ListBox(). ViewData["Tags"] = tagdb.GetTagsListBox(); And in my view <%=Html.ListBox("Tags",ViewData["Tags"] as SelectList) %> So with this code it's ok in Add Mode! But in Edit Mode I need to pre-select those values! So Now, of course I have to create a method that get all tagsbypostid! and then in ViewData what Must I to pass? Any suggest?

How should I code the selectCar method? I've tried a few things like: val1 = $('tr input[name=selectedCar]:checked').parent().find('#cars').html(); val1 = $("td input[name='selectedCar']:checked").parents().find('.cars').html(); val1 = $('selectedCar').checked; but I can't get the proper values. I'm using prototype, but the solution can be plain javascript as well.

  • Best practice way to handle variable content margin?

    Ok, so a quick site that I am throwing together for a friend has about 20 static pages. Each one with a small amount of content. the div Container contains, well, the div Content, and the div Content contains, obviously, the content that changes on each page. Now, depending on the length of the content, I want a different margin at the top. The less content, then the larger the margin. Simply an aesthetic choice. For example, if the content almost fills the static sized container, there is less padding, but a 1 line page of content might be 1/3 of the way down the static container. Centering the content in the div wont do, as that creates too large of a margin. Whats the best way to handle this? A new class for each content with a different margin? A new Id, so that it is in its own special div positioned or margined differently? Inline css on each page to override the standard css for div Content? A differnt spacer div inside Container before Content on each page? Some sort of scripting along the lines of margin of Content = (ContainerHeight - ContentHeight) / 3? Whats the acceptable way of doing this? I don't want to get into bad habits.

  • Presentation Issue in an Unordered List

    I'm having an issue with correctly presenting items in an unordered list. The labels are floating left and the related spans that are long in length are wrapping and showing below the label. I need a solution that keeps the related spans in their respective columns. In other words, I don't want long spans to show under the labels. What property can I take advantage of so that I get the desired layout in all of the popular browsers, including IE6? Thanks in advance for the help.   • XBAP Browser Control - Invoking Click event of the html Input type button

    Hi, Here is what I have. 1.XBAP application with WPF Browser control, hosted on Page1.xaml 2.XBAP in Full Trust, certificate installed in client browser 3.Once the XBAP loaded, the browser control is navigated to some third party site. 4.We are using MVVM for XAML stuff So, when a certain page is loaded, I attach click event handler to the input button with id="submit" on the html page displayed in the browser control (used the code similar to whats in this URL http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wpf/thread/a4f0e4d0-78bf-44c5-a3fe-8faf2e7a0568/). It works just fine as long as I dont make a wcf web service call in my ViewModel, before or after I attach this event hander. Idea is to invoke the click event for the html button and grab the data from the html page before calling the webservice to save data from the page. Here is the issue: When I make the wcf webservice call (sync or async, it doesnt matter) the click event doesnt happen but if I comment out the the code for wcf service call the click event of the html input of type button gets invoked.     As per the Q&A here, I'd like to implement a similar auto-versioning system for a web app running in JBoss 5. Is there anything already out there to do this sort of thing, or will I need to write something myself? To be clear: I am not using PHP. Not knowing much about PHP, I'm not sure what the Tomcat/JBoss analogs of PHP's .htaccess, etc. are. If I do have to write my own auto-versioning, where would I start? The principle is clear to me - rewriting the URL using the file's timestamp, but I don't know much about URL rewriting with JBoss/Tomcat.

Now, I would assume that this would or should happen: Page loads the first time, the None radio button is checked / defaulted I go and select a different radiobutton in this radiobutton list I do an F5 refresh in my browser The None radio button is pre-selected again after it has come back from the refresh but #4 is not happening. It's retaining the radiobutton that I selected in #2 and I don't know why. I mean in regular HTML it's stateless. So what could be holding this value? I want this to act like a normal input button. I know the question of "why not use an ASP.NET control" will come up. Well there are 2 reasons: The stupid radiobuttonlist bug that everyone knows about I just want to brush up more on standard input tags We are not moving to MVC so this is as close as I'll get and it's ok, because the rest of the team is on par with having mixed ASP.NET controls with standard HTML controls in our pages Anyway my main question here is I'm surprised that it's retaining the change in selection after postback.
