  I'm trying to strip content titles out of the middle of text strings. Could I use regex to strip everything out of this string except for the title (in italics) in these strings? Or is there a better way? Joe User wrote a blog post called The 10 Best Regex Expressions in the category Regex. Jane User wrote a blog post called Regex is Hard! in the category TechProblems. I've tried to come up with a regex expression to cover this, but I think it might need two. The trick is that the text in bold is always the same, so you could search for that, like this: regex: delete everything before and including wrote a blog post called regex: delete in the category and everything after it.

  It's a bit late, but I'm disappointed in myself for not coming up with something more elegant. Anyone have a better way to do this... When you pass an OAuth code to Facebook, it response with a query string containing access_token and expires values. access_token=121843224510409|2.V_ei_d_rbJt5iS9Jfjk8_A__.3600.1273741200-569255561|TxQrqFKhiXm40VXVE1OBUtZc3Ks.&expires=4554 Although if you request permission for offline access, there's no expires and the string looks like this: access_token=121843224510409|2.V_ei_d_rbJt5iS9Jfjk8_A__.3600.1273741200-569255561|TxQrqFKhiXm40VXVE1OBUtZc3Ks. I attempted to write a regex that would suffice for either condition. No dice. So I ended up with some really ugly Ruby: s = s.split("=") @oauth = {} if s.length == 3 @oauth[:access_token] = s[1][0, s[1].length - 8] @oauth[:expires] = s[2] else @oauth[:access_token] = s[1] end I know there must be a better way!

  Has there been an announcement (outside microformats.org) that the value-class-pattern is fully accessible? e.g. given <abbr class="value" title="2008-06-24">this Tuesday</abbr>, will a screen reader say "24 June 2008" or will it say "2008 dash 6 dash 24"? History Microformats came along, and were great, except that dates etc were stored in abbr tags: <abbr class="dtstart" title="20070312T1700-06"> March 12, 2007 at 5 PM, Central Standard Time </abbr>` This lead to screen readers doing ridiculous things as noted in hAccessibility. Now that microformats.org have released the value-class-pattern it's a lot better. But I'm left unable to find a declaration from WaSP (or another accessibility source not directly tied to microformats) that declaratively states that they are now accessible to screen readers etc.

  Hi I was wondering if there is any jquery function around which can take this dateTime "2010-10-18 10:06" and convert and split it returning "2010/10/18" and "10:06". It would be also nice if the same function could either receive "2010-10-18 10:06" or "2010-10-18" only and return as mentioned above, or different formats besides "2010/10/18" like 18-10-2010" or and 18th of October 2010, giving the option but not that important, just curious about jQuery power dealing with dates. • Master / Detail datagridview with relation from type string in C#

  Hello, I want to show a master / detail relationship using two datagridviews and DataRelation in C#. The relation between the master and the detail table is an ID from type string (and there is no chance to change the ID to type integer). It seems like the DataGridView is not able to update the detail view when changing the row in the master table. Does anybody know if it is possible to achieve a master / detail view using a string ID and if yes, how? Or do I have to use an external DataGrid from another company? Thanks for any help Daniel

• I need to Split a string based on a complex delimiter

  In C# I need to split a string (a log4j log file) into array elements based on a particular sequence of characters, namely "nnnn-nn-nn nn:nn:nn INFO". I'm currently splitting this log file up by newlines, which is fine except when the log statements themselves contain newlines. I don't control the input (the log file) so escaping them somehow is not an option. It seems like I should be able to use a comparator or a regex to identify the strings, but String.Split does not have an option like that. Am I stuck rolling my own, or is there a pattern or framework component that can be of help here?

  We have an Adobe Flex client talking to a .NET server using WebORB. Simplifying things, on the .NET side of things we have a struct that wraps a ulong like this: public struct MyStruct { private ulong _val; public override string ToString() { return _val.ToString("x16"); } // Parse method } I want the Flex client to treat this as a string. So that for the following server method: public void DoStuff(int i, MyStruct b); It can call it as DoStuff(1, "1234567890ABCDEF") I've tried playing with custom WebORB serializers, but the documentation is a bit scarce. • reading a string with spaces with sscanf

  For a project I'm trying to read an int and a string from a string. The only problem is sscanf appears to break reading an %s when it sees a space. Is there anyway to get around this limitation? Here's an example of what I'm trying to do: #include<stdio.h> #include<stdlib.h> int main(int argc, char** argv) { int age; char* buffer; buffer = malloc(200 * sizeof(char)); sscanf("19 cool kid", "%d %s", &age, buffer); printf("%s is %d years old\n", buffer, age); return 0; } What it prints is: "cool is 19 years old" where I need "cool kid is 19 years old".   Hello, I am coding a simple space empire management game in Visual C# 2008, which relies on connecting to a remote SQL server database to get/store data. I would like the user to be able to connect to a user-specified SQL server from the login screen(he specifies IP address, port, database name, ID, password and presses "connect" button). However, I found out that the Dataset connection string property is read only and cannot be changed. Is there any way to guide the wizard-generated DataSet to a user-specified server at run time?   My regex skills are not very good and recently a new data element has thrown my parser into a loop Take the following string "+USER=Bob Smith-GROUP=Admin+FUNCTION=Read/FUNCTION=Write" Previously I had the following for my regex : [+\\-/] Which would turn the result into USER=Bob Smith GROUP=Admin FUNCTION=Read FUNCTION=Write FUNCTION=Read But now I have values with dashes in them which is causing bad output New string looks like "+USER=Bob Smith-GROUP=Admin+FUNCTION=Read/FUNCTION=Write/FUNCTION=Read-Write" Which gives me the following result , and breaks the key = value structure. • Calculating string sizes on iPhone on a background thread

  I've got some somewhat hefty string size calculations happening in my app (each one takes close to 500ms, and happens when the user scrolls to a new "page" in my app (like the Weather app). The delay only happens once per page, as the calculation only needs to be run once (and can even be cached for subsequent launches with the same data). Anyway, I still like to not block the UI for this type of work, as to me it screams using threads, but I know UIKit is not meant to be used from other threads. (I know NSString is not part of UIKit, but the string sizing methods are part of the UIKitAdditions...) So how should I go about doing this? What's the best way to not block the UI and do so safely?

• Powershell script to delete sub folders and files if creation date is >7 days but maintain parent folders of sub folders and files <7 days old

  I'm currently using the Powershell script below to delete all files directories and sub directories of "$dump_path" that are seven days or older based upon the creation date and not modified date. The problem with this script is this: If folder "A" is seven (or more) days old it will be deleted even if its sub folders and files are less then seven days old. What I would like this script to do is this: Delete all files from the root and in all sub folders of "$dump_path" that are seven or more days old but maintain the parent folder(s) of files and folders that are less than seven days old even if that means the parent folders are more than seven days old. If all subfolders and files are seven days or older than the parent folder then the parent can be deleted. Slightly obscure problem I know, but the intention is to have a 7 day retention period of all data in a 'sandbox' location of our shared areas. Also, an added bonus if it could generate a log of what it deletes and e-mails it out post deletion. Thank you for reading and I hope that all makes sense! • Determining whether values can potentially match a regular expression, given more input

  I am currently writing an application in JavaScript where I'm matching input to regular expressions, but I also need to find a way how to match strings to parts of the regular expressions. For example: var invalid = "x", potentially = "g", valid = "ggg", gReg = /^ggg$/; gReg.test(invalid); //returns false (correct) gReg.test(valid); //returns true (correct) Now I need to find a way to somehow determine that the value of the potentially variable doesn't exactly match the /^ggg$/ expression, BUT with more input, it potentially can! So for example in this case, the potentially variable is g, but if two more g's are appended to it, it will match the regular expression /^ggg$/ But in the case of invalid, it can never match the /^ggg$/ expression, no matter how many characters you append to it. So how can I determine if a string has or doesn't have potential to match a particular regular expression?

Game maker got me interested in programing because I thought it was fun but I eventually wanted to make games and programs game maker could do so I want to see if it is any different when the new version comes out.   Hi Im writing a notification platform using C# and NHibernate. Im having difficulties with my queries. I have a Customer entity - which contains a AssessmentCompleted Property. A notification should be sent out 21 months after certification. So my query needs to include all customers where their AssessmentCompletedDate + 21months < currentDate. How do I achieve this? Is there a month add method in nhibernate? I need to add 21 months to each AssessmentCompletedProperty...My query needs to look something like: SELECT new Notification(c.Id, c.Description, c.AssessmentCompleted + 21 FROM Cusomter c AND c.AssessmentCompleted + 21 <= :EndDate
