    Hello All: I am creating an Asp.net web site which will support dynamic data. When I am creating a dynamic web site from Scratch (from template in VS) all is working fine. But when I am trying to add dynamic entity (.edmx) file and running the application I am getting following error "The method 'Skip' is only supported for sorted input in LINQ to Entities. The method 'OrderBy' must be called before the method 'Skip'. " Please help Thanks Vinay

  • WPF Global Resources in App.xaml

    I have created a custom Treeview control and am trying to access the HierarchicalDataTemplate resource of this control from another window in the same project. I have placed <ResourceDictionary Source="/Controls/TreeView/Themes/Generic.xaml"/> into my App.xaml file. Everytime I run, I get an error saying that it can not find the resource key "scene" - the name of the HierarchicalDataTemplate from my custom control. How can I access this template? Thanks

    In my View (using Zend_View so the the view is an object), I make calls to object properties and methods to populate the template like so: <?= $this->user->name ?> // Outputs John Doe <br/> <?= $this->user->getCompany()->name ?> // Outputs Acme <br/> <?= $this->method() ?> // Outputs foobar If I make it so that all property requests (like for 'user') go through __get() is there any way that I can catch the subsequent calls so that I can force a method call on the final outputted value? For example so that I could do automatic escaping of output. As I see it right now, I either have to escape the input as it goes into the database or use compiled templates like Smarty does, or switch to assigning every variable to the View object so that it has direct control to force escaping before outputting the data.

Every banner file is under app/public/banners/. I tried many ways, like: render :file => "/banners/somebanner.html" But it can't locate the file, because rails looks under app/views. Any Ideas ?   • Are preprocessors obsolete in modern languages?

    Hello, I'm making a simple compiler for a simple pet language I'm creating and coming from a C background(though I'm writing it in Ruby) I wondered if a preprocessor is necessary. What do you think? Is a "dumb" preprocessor still necessary in modern languages? Would C#'s conditional compilation capabilities be considered a "preprocessor"? Does every modern language that doesn't include a preprocessor have the utilities necessary to properly replace it? (for instance, the C++ preprocessor is now mostly obsolete(though still depended upon) because of templates.)

    Is there an easy way to set the Localizable property to true for newly created usercontrols / forms? The scope of the setting should ideally be a solution or a project. In other words I want to say that this project/solution should be localizable, and then if I add a new form or control VS should automatically set the property to true. Edit: Although custom templates are possible, in a larger team they might not be always used. So it's more about enforcing a policy, ensuring that the team members do not ommit to set the property for the projects/solutions where it is a requirement that all forms/controls containing text resources should be localizable. Note: Team Foundation Server is not an Option.

    I am a web developer for a Django-based site for a student organization, and I have the opportunity to make the website temporarily absurd for a day of general campus-wide debauchery and chaos (long story, doesn't matter.) What are your best ideas for web development practical jokes (that you could never use in the real world)? For example, one idea we had was to use a client-side script to convert each character to its upside down equivalent in Unicode, si?? ??i? ?ui????os. I'm not necessarily looking for Django-specific solutions. I imagine most of these things would happen on the front-end. I am also quite aware that usability will suffer considerably--the point is to be fun for a day, and there will always be a link to the normal version of the site. Also, everything must be relatively cosmetic and easily reversible--I'm happy to swap out static CSS/JS/HTML/templates/images, and even temporarily add a django view, but no messing with the data level!

  • Why does Visual Studio 2010 throw this error with Boost 1.42.0?

    I'm trying to recompile application, that compiles fine with warning level 4 in visual studio 2005 and visual studio 2008. Since the errors (look below) are coming from std:tr1, I'm thinking there's some conflict, but not sure how to fix. My first thought was to remove all references to boost, such as but then I get an error that it can't find format method.     Spring roo is new framework and I found it very interesting. I have been working on web application for last 3-4 years and Always found JSPs are hard to maintain across teams if everyone is not disciplined enough about separation of markup and serverside logic. I have used JackBe/BackBase in last projects and I enjoyed xml templates working as views. This was much better than JSPs. But I couldnt automate webtests through selenium for backbase. I would be surely using Spring MVC (-view), Hibernate on the backend. I found Wicket as good alternative. Have you used wicket along with Spring and what was your experience?

    I've got django-oembed working fine, e.g. a YouTube URL on a line by itself gets transformed to the correct embed code. Then I added a limited TinyMCE text area. Now that URL on a line by itself gets surrounded in opening and closing html p tags. This breaks oembed - now the URL itself is displayed in the template rather than the embed code. Any reliable fixes or workarounds for this problem?

The question is how can I get the modelformset_factory to use the AuthorForm (which I plan to customize later) instead of making a default Author form?

    Iv wrote an MetaDataProvider like the one below and am using it in conjunction with Editor templates. The DisplayName is working correctly, but for some reason the ShowForEdit value it not having any effect.
