  • Collaborative text editing in a web application

    I have a group of writers around the world all trying to work on one story. I want them to be able to work with each other like they would on google documents, but from within our application. Specifically, being able to see who else is working on the document and what they are changing in real time. Something like an embedded etherpad. Are there any good solutions out in the wild? Im sure building something like this would be a significant project.

    I want to format a date in jsf which is xmlgregoriancalendar type. I've come across post which say I need custom converter. Does anybody found solution which does not require custom date converter. I was trying following but I gives me error saying... Element type "h:outputText" must be followed by either attribute specifications, "" or "/".   • Cut and paste out of/ into text fields in a separate window doesn't work

    I have a Macintosh Mozilla plugin which puts up a separate window for login information. It seems to work fine, it gets keyboard events like typing and hitting return to hit the default button. HOWEVER, it doesn't seem to get cut and paste events. When I hit Cmd-v, the edit menu flashes, but nothing happnes. Is this a problem with my responder chain? Do I have to specially tell Mozilla that I want these events? or am I likely to have some other problem that I haven't even thought of? thanks.

I've had a look through Apple's Cocoa documentation, but it's a bit overwhelming and can't find anything for how to add paragraph styles to the attributes.     I'm attempting to take an NSImage and convert it to a string which I can write in an XML document. My current attempt looks something like this: [xmlDocument setCharacterEncoding: @"US-ASCII"]; NSData* data = [image TIFFRepresentation]; NSString* string = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:data encoding:NSASCIIStringEncoding]; //Put string inside of NSXMLElement, write out NSXMLDocument. Reading back in looks something like this: NSXMLDocument* newXMLDocument = [[NSXMLDocument alloc] initWithData:data options:0 error:outError]; //Here's where it fails. I get: //Error Domain=NSXMLParserErrorDomain Code=9 UserInfo=0x100195310 "Line 7: Char 0x0 out of allowed range" I assume I'm missing something basic. What's up with this encoding issue?

    I have texts that most of the time fit in a div, but sometimes it doesn't fit. There is no way to determine how many characters/words/paragraphs fit in the div, so I can't cut it off that way. The div had a fixed height and width, so can we do something with that? Or do you have any suggestion how to get everything in the div, the correct way?

  • Android AlertDialog with dynamically changing text on every request

    I want to show an AlertDialog with one option that might change on every request. So for example at one time I want to show the option "add to contacts" while another time it should be "remove from contacts". My code does work on the first time, however Android seems to cache the AlertDialog so that onCreateDialog is not executed next time. Therefore the option doesnt change anymore.
